You mentioned something about what could you offer to film makers. One thing that springs to mind is software, having a space where people who have the ideas but not necessarily the best equipment such as software to edit on. I imagine thats easier to handle then say loaning out cameras because you can have fixed work stations that people could book out and use to help better there storytelling capabilities, then worrying about tech being damaged or lost.
I don’t think any of us truly realize how big this is going to get. Casey, keep inspiring! I’ve been a fan since Bike Lanes, have enjoyed every minute of following your journey, and cannot wait to see what the future holds!
Here in Portland, we actually already have a company kind of like what I imagine 368 might be. They have hundreds of thousands of dollars of props/video editing/camera equipment, and if you can prove that you can use it, or if you take one of their classes, you can use all of it for free, but they can also use the end product however they want. They usually use it for their TV channel.
I feel like your 368 Vlogs are definitely gathering pace with its new flavour / style compared to your 'old' daily vlog. They feel more fluid and exciting as ever. Love your channel.
In the last video you posted, i felt a slight kind of pressure. Like the task at hand seemed suddenly so large and heavy. It is honestly wonderful to have this video, and the the video of you and Jack, and patreon in general, like. The idea that you are not taking this on alone, and that together something special can happen. It’s like a real life, less dramatic version of the friendship theme in Yu Gi Yo. I also wanted to apologize for a comment I made in a previous video about “missing movement” in the videos. I realized the other day, when kind of taking a day off, that. Well you don’t get that. And so if a few videos are not action backed Michael Bay backflipping from Mount Kilimanjaro, I’ll still be here, still be watching, and still making an effort to enjoy your videos for what they are, rather than what I want them to be. Thank you so much for this show Casey ( and Dan).
Li Bo If women are so great, or at least equal to men ( which they are), then clarifying that is a good (or at least a neutral) thing. It is just a matter of fact she is female. Odd to be backwardly offended.
Li Bo Since when did giving someone the compliment of “greatest women’s athlete of all time” become a bad thing. Women and men don’t participate in sports together. The entire culture is gender specific because of the way human biology works. Serena Williams is undoubtedly the greatest women’s tennis player and greatest women’s athlete, but she isn’t the best athlete ever. Stop victimizing something as simple as a compliment towards someone who I clearly respect. Save your breath for something that matters.
Dear Casey, this idea of building 368 company and sharing every moment of it’s is so invaluable for all of us who wish to be an entrepreneur someday. Thanks a lot for doing this.
One way to stop people from pissing on the door to 368 would be to install a sprinkler over the door with a button inside that turns it on for a few seconds. Of course, it might also be a good way to get sued, so consult actual lawyers before doing this.
It is just becoming obvious how some creators realized that they can piggyback their own channels through comment sections. I obviously don't know your intentions, but if I had to get channel from zero to hero with no budget, I would do exactly what you and some other channels are doing. Done it before and it is just too easy.
NoobInGame If I wanted attention fast, wouldn't I spend time to build a budget and promote with Adwords? I would also constantly mention the fact that I have a channel, wouldn't I? I appreciate that you back peddled on the assumption that I comment to promote myself, I rarely even mention that I make videos. It's not about putting my name everywhere; it's about being a part of the bigger community and hopefully adding some positivity to it. I hope you understand.
I think the next creative venue for content creators has to be something other than RU-vid. I am tired of all social media companies deciding what I see. They all started out great but after a time they forgot about the people who consume the content and manipulate what gets on your feeds and how often you see what you see. Instagram is the latest disappointment, it was my favorite after RU-vid fell out if favor.
Haha..Dan is getting mail now..lol I genuinely feel happy for him 😄 Pretty exciting to see the growth of 368!!! Can't wait to see how Casey's idea turns to reality🤗
Hey Casey, So for the video creators. You probably thought of it but you should have a cage full of equipment that you can rent, also maybe an edit suite.
There should be a platform of creator catalog. where creators can be like summarised and reviewed so people can come and leave their feedback of the creator like reddit for youtubers
When you talk a lot about 368 when you say like colab and a space that creators can use. It reminds me of RU-vid Space. How and what would 368 do for more creators that would be better than RU-vid Space?
With the the 368 Studio still an empty canvas, and with the cross platform collaborators in the picture, by any chance that 368 would feature some DYI or woodworking creators to contribute for content and the space?
Hey Casey! I´m from Brazil and I want to be a part of 368. I´m a photographer and will start producing videos of my photoshoots and a little talk about things here and there! How can I reach you? The entire idea behind what i´m doing is because of you. You inspire me, so even if you never read this, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Have an area of computers with all the software n stuff on them so ppl who cant afford that can come in and edit and collaborate with other creators in that space and make something great. that would be neat af
Now we now that you solve problems and manage anger in a civilized way without using the 2nd Amendment. No suit today !!! You can always use a 368 cap or jacket.
Let's not make this more difficult than it needs to be... RU-vid needs to create a system for smaller content creators to get paid by their viewers. Basically this - I create a promo video describing what my main video will provide (in my case guitar lessons) and there is a "Purchase" button next to it. The creator sets the price - basic supply & demand - the market will ultimately guide the creator to the correct pricing for their content. Once a viewer purchases a video, RU-vid places it in the viewer's "Purchased Video" playlist where it will reside permanently. RU-vid controls the payment system between the channel and the viewer and takes a reasonable fee for facilitating a secure transaction. This will allow both the content creator and RU-vid to get paid versus what they make now from a smaller channel = zero. RU-vid is currently utilizing smaller content creators to drive viewing traffic so they can then push "suggested" videos that drive ad revenue for them. If you want to continue to offer your content for free and work towards the current very challenging levels for ad revenue you'll still have that option. Why not add a "Purchase" button option and let the viewers vote with their wallets? Again, RU-vid will make revenue from this idea as well by handling the financial transaction for the channels and taking their cut in fees. It really could be this simple in my opinion. As it stands now, RU-vid appears ripe for disruption as they've created an ecosystem that only truly rewards already established content creators with only a few very small exceptions.
(i could be absolutely wrong) but you came off a little jealous about the mail. dont be that guy, let your partner shine a little too. P.S. can you do a full on review of the mini? ordered my X and would like to see more to hold me over on the wait.
Casey, in regards to the man pissing on your door, there is a Mark Twain quote that I'll never forget. " Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience."
AwesomeBlackDude in New York?? Not sure. I mean even in DTLA I’ve seen people shit right in the middle of the street. Homeless people do not give any fucks they’re just living.
Especially bringing them in before he's even got anything off the ground. This is way less of an idea than Beme the app. It's more like Beme the company, which.... well, we know how that turned out.
Pretty sure you never dreamed you'd be a hero to a 74-year-old 'tuber - but bask in it, dude. Your vision and ethic and heart inspire me with every video. 368 will change the digital world and I hope I get to be a small part of it. We have mostly 5-digit street numbers all around L.A., and I hope we cross paths sooner rather than later. I spread love tolerance and understanding - and common sense - with the un-ad-friendly F, S, D. OXOXOXOX
