I somehow missed it. I was stunned when he turned and looked at her. I'm usually quite perceptive, but I get so engrossed in what I'm watching and immersed I lose myself 😅
No one is talking about Sameer, but I just feel bad for the guy. Sitting there and watching your captor losing his sanity & talk to ghosts probably isn't mentally warming.
actually at the beginnig of the episode Joe said "I could bash your fucking head in, jog your memory" to the guy Butcher Kidnapped so yeah pretty much not only negan vibes but some references as well
As well as the, "Shut your fucking cake hole," which was said by Butcher to Frenchie at Season 3's finale when The Boys confronted him and Soldier Boy.
I was thinking that this was such a serious plot twist and then it hard cuts to Butcher pouring liquor on the table and a lady walking past him talking to himself 😂
Butcher should have realized that Kessler is his lethal weapon against Homelander in the future. I mean, obliterating Ezekiel in just a form of a small parasite is already an impressive feat.
I am wondering though, is is still a "small" parasite ? I mean did it take over his body, cause Ezekiel was still stronger than a mere human. Or did it come out to rip him to shreds ? If so, what kind of monstrosity are we dealing with now ? And I was thinking that Billy is looking pretty healthy now, is this thing helping to keep him alive now ? If so, than it is a symbiote now and no longer a parasite.
Nah you turn because you're not listening, but you hear someone and not sure if the words are directed at you, themselves, someone else or a phone call. Its less "They're weird" and more, "They talkin to me? Guess not."
@@matthewcastro2230 I mean it’s fair to say that Billy’s hatred towards supes is pretty well known and that if he was making a virus that was targeting supes that he probably told him how he’d want them all dead- but it was already pretty clear that Joe was all in butcher’s head.
Nah butcher is gonna be dead in a few months the tumour is probably programmed to act out on Billy’s deepest subconscious thoughts which is why we got becca and joe as butcher is indecisive as hell rn and can’t make up his mind whether to kill all supes including ryan for the greater good of humanity or to convince Ryan to leave homelander
It’s a bit of a shame, it would have been so amazing to see “Negan” interact with Homelander. That being said JDM is still one of the very best actors on television.
@@Emidretrauqe Clearly someone hasn't watched all TV shows. He's not the best. White men always think they're the best when they're not. They reboot movies form South Korea
@@axelerhate9705 yea sure he is killing it in The Boys and was great in The Walking Dead also but other than that people generally don't know who he is I notice
I can understand why people love the Venom movies but in terms of a psychological horror aspect to it, this is more of what I was looking for. And it’s done beautifully
What is more hilarious.. there’s got to be some point where Butcher let Kessler did the interrogations (he said “you cracked him yet?”) so it’s basically Butcher leaving the poor dude alone for night(s) 😂
From 2:00 to 2:07 it reminds me of Batman Arkham knight, where joker wins over Batman mind and says to Alfred through Bruce “ Don’t you worry Alfred, your new master is coming home “
He is not just a hallucination. Its his tumor, there is a seperate conscience there. Its like calling Venom a hallucination to Eddy Brock, like when Eddy saw him in the reflection of the car. Kessler is just how he sees him as. When Kessler walks away it means he is stepping in the back of Butchers brain. Ofcourse Kessler has Butchers characteristics cause the tumor still sprouted from his brain. Its a branch on the same tree
Basically what happened in the animated the boys: diabolical. Except it hasn't progressed that far yet when it comes to the V-ed up tumor escaping and absorbing everything around it(bears, deers etc)
I figured it out pretty quickly he wasn’t real given how nobody else interacted with Joe, still the reveal was still shocking in the sense in how it took place and how well executed it is
Joe kessler is literally Comic butcher mentality he heard the words “contagious, airbone” and went Rogue. Edit: also the scary thing about all this is how butcher’s eyes widen Twice it shows how Fucked up this sounds and the slightest bit of reconsideration about the idea just to kill homelander
@@rand_xcurse6884They could still go about making Butcher the final threat, especially since he isn't there. One theory that I've seen is that his tumor might become a threat due to an episode of the Boys diabolical which had a Vd up tumor free of its host's body going on a rampage.
I haven’t read the comic But i Think homelander was already dead when Butcher wanted to use the virus and it just seems a little out of character for show Butcher to use for a reason that isn’t homelander
@riderchallenge4250 it's bc people saw leaks of the show and others pretended to just predict that he was a hallucination. We're on the internet for goodness sake not many people are smart
It’s better to have a non shocking reveal that the audience can predict rather than the JJ Abrams style “reveals” that are only shocking because they make no sense and were never foreshadowed that we’ve been getting for years.
It would've been way better if they hadn't straight up shown every single detail everyone already knew about and then explained it several times. It's like the writers are dumbing down the audience for no reason.
what makes his reveal that much better that from the start of the scene it's very back and fourth, Rebecca talking left, Joe talking right, with the tension rising and then Joe yells at her, the camera moves showing both of them and then finally... silence.
This would be a pretty cool scene if you haven't heard of the Kessler hallucination theory. The audience knows that Rebecca is hallucinated but not Joe, so it would be really shocking when he scolded her like that.
This shows casting is on a whole other level. Giancarlo Esposito, underrated gems such as JDM, Karl Urban and Anthony Star. Giancarlo gives a 10/10 performance as always, Anthony Star has slowly made Homelander one of my favorite villains of all time probably in the top 3 best acted villains. Karl Urban's performance as Butcher has made me realize all the projects he's been in and how underrated he is. Finally one of my person favorite actors that is overall under appreciated in in the show. This show is peak.
With how so many people started with “Kessler is figment of Butcher’s imagination” since day 1 of this season, the bigger twist would have been that Kessler was actually there fr lol. This version of him could have just lied about being dead. Maybe in season 5 he’ll actually show up alive
