As a 5 year old making my way cautiously thru the Catacombs of Diablo 1, encountering The Butcher in that god-awful blood spattered, body littered entrail filled room and running for my mortal soul as he declared me "FRESH MEAT" was the fuel for my very first nightmare in life. 12/10, would play/experience again
i had the same experience when i was playing diablo 1 with 9 years old, i was always afraid to open the door knowing what was in the other side.... one day i pause the game and my older brother opened the door and pause the game again... when i start playing and i saw him screaming fresh meat (because my old brother put the volume of the TV at max to scare me....) i start crying and running away from him trying to reach the stairs to go up to tristam again....
For all these people that keep saying : ''Butcher looks like Sion, Blizz stop copy paste lol heroes ffs'' Butcher is from Diablo and he was out long before Sion's rework. That includes most of his skills, go check the boss fight from Diablo 3.
first of all butcher comes from diablo 1 a game maded in 98/99 if i am not wrong! and other thing.... League of Losers was created by warcraft people that use to work in blizzard company so that from being say the boss guy in that league of losers game was invited to help create Heros of the storm! so there is no *stealing ideads from other games* lol! I'm surprised people are still accusing Blizz of making unoriginal heroes. Guys, Dota was inspired by Warcraft and even used their engine. You can't say Blizz is ripping off anyone but themselves.
Butcher is still my favorite assassin. Late game if you've gathered the necessary meat stacks he's an absolute terror requiring 2 or more to bring him down.
The Butcher made a cameo in WC3 The Frozen Throne during the invasion of the black temple in the "Human" campaign, he even had a sound bite where when you enter his kitchen he will say "Ah, Fresh Meat" which was used for Pudge in the DotA mod for his ultimate.
Valvax4500 yeah despite china being full of ghouls they don't like looking at dead things, league had a problem with karthus and yorick having the champs reskinned for the chinese version.
Another tip I would give is to not carge into Assassins with escape abilities, like Zeratul, Falstad and maybe even Valla, since they can punish you by reacting quickly to lead you into a trap. Only charge these heroes when you are sure that their escape abilities are on cooldown.
Wilion109 ..they took away his unstoppable on q nerfed his metamorphosis damage to 10% of what it was. decreased its explosion radius and removed unstoppable with w with unbound...pretty sure he can be countered now
Veinaru71 Are you guys kidding me? Im playing illidan all time and i still feel very strong. Metamorphosis was never about initial damage anyways, its about temporary hp for TF and attack speed. BTW its imposible for johanna to kill a proper illidan player.
Did they remove the size gain on Fresh Meat? Aw. I see a lot of Lamb to the Slaughter for comeptitive games, but the pubstomps will all be Furnace -> Charge.
FourCourtJester I see the difficulty of the delay to well place Lamb to the Slaughter. You probably need to work with stuns to choose the right victim.
mephisto with his very deadly skills as an assassin and the necromancer with his bone skills or summon skills as a specialist. Baal would be cool too, but i think a map in the chamebr of the soulstone with an baal event with his tentacles would be awesome too
He seems real cool. His skill set seems to be similar to the skeleton king dude though. Q = slow, W = mark a target to heal, E = charge/movement. Heroics look real cool though. And their traits seem to be unique too. Just wondering how they'll match up or if its just better to pick one over the other. But we ALL are looking forward to ONE thing. More heroes. Plain and simple.
"ololo sion ripoff" butcher and his signature skills came with D3 in 2012. New Sion was released 2014. butchers and his lore exists since 1996. Sion came 2009. So if anyone here is a rip off then it is Sion.
Grab all of his healing skills/talents. One is that fresh meat will heal and other ones as well. Pick damage over range when you get to that, remember you can survive battles so getting up and personal is not a problem, quicker you can deal dmg (and heal yourself while stacking fresh meat) you can end battles before they begin. This also, means more control you have over the enemy. Where they have to double guard the butcher, frees a teammate to do as they please without worrying about a hero riding them. An additional option is to make the butcher tough, so opponents will want to double guard the butcher, make the butcher APPEAR alone, your teammate will be nearby. Your teammate will hop in if the 2 on 1 battle is not doing so well. This is what some would call "bait and switch".
the butcher is fairly op, you want to try to get a global presence to get alot of meat face, if you get low hamstring is a great getaway, be wary of marking mobile heros with the charge, cancle if they go into a fort or to the back of their team, maps like dragon shrine are best so you can body block escapes while you wait for cooldowns, hamstring recharges fast so use it liberally. aslong as toy hit the soft stack cap for meat you are pretty much able to kill anything, but try to focus low health heros as a single charge brand string combo can bring alot of them down

The Butcher is cool, but he as well as other hereos are missing some heavy soundeffects. For example when they move you can't hear them trample, you don't hear their weight. Same goes for several attacks and spells. When you hit someone, it doesn't feel like there is a logical amount of weight and power behind it. Additionally, some movements/motions in the game feel so static or too quick which diminishes the weight and power of heroes. When The Butcher "cuts his throat" it looks halfhearted - he should make it slowly, otherwise it looks as if he was made of paper. Another example is Diablo; when he walks, there is no sound representing his weight and power. Hope that helps.
Seems interesting for sure. a high burst assassin with a lot of life steal and power with some cool CC on he's ult. I feel like if you just kite him or your a caster then their will be no problem in killing him. good characters against the butcher will probably be, jaina, kelthas, valla, falstad, tassadar, slv, zertual. in my opinion.

Heres a tip for the butcher, I believe I heard somewhere that you should open up with your meat hook and then follow it up with a dismember. Remember that you can toggle rot while dismember is channeling and you should be able to kill most heroes with this combo. What game is this again? :P
I really want to play this Hero. I'm more of a "Hey I'm going to go blow up these buildings, see ya." team mate. I need to practice more with Melee. I have been with other Heroes but there's just something fun about the idea of being a giant demon charging at people with a cleaver. Also I keep thinking of Rammsteins song "Mein Teil" so now I pretty much have to play him since they're my fav band if the name I'm using wasn't obvious enough.

played him today and I found him really easy to use, I played him as I would play diablo. he gets powerful really early on in the game and I carried because of the enemy trying to focus me. I got a full 25 stacks within the 1st 5 mins and I was too powerful for their Johanna and barbarian.
A skillshot slowing q, unstoppable charge, scaling ability from kills, detonating dmg around him and a nice ol bulky body... Im talking about sion of course :P
And Valve ripped Pudge's design (along with many others) from the abomination in Warcraft III. In fact Dota 2 wouldn't exist without Warcraft III, so please do get your history straight.

Ruthless onslaught really shouldnt be target locked; thats kinda op..I think it should be player controlled. That way it can allow him use that skill as a means of mobility rather than just to engage. A similar version of Sion's ult from League of Legends.
***** Think they made it target locked so certain heroes don't just completely counter him with kiting, like valla, tassadar, tychus etc. would juke his charge easily and he has no mobility once it's used. But we'll see, they'll probably nerf it a bit somehow.
Oh, they made the "meat" look like a falling drop of blood. Great attention to detail, Blizzard! Edit: just in case the sarcasm goes unnoticed, I would appreciate it if the meat looked like the muscular tissue of a living being opposed to the oxygen bearing liquid that runs through vascular tissue.
He's cool and all, but why not a melee assassin Malthael, Angel of Death? I'm not a huge Diablo fan, but it seems to me Mathael would have been preferred by fans. It just seems like the Butcher was a less significant character and less popular boss.
