Found sim racing 3 months ago (and VR) and am now spending $6500 on a new computer, Valve Index headset and P1-X Cockpit/Accuforce DD wheel/HE Sprints/Fanatec shifter, and NOW i have to get a Buttkicker 2 also, doh! lol
Get the ho reverb if you are ONLY going to.use the vr for racing. The index is amazing(speaking from owning one) but the color and how the screens look on the hp beat the Index. If you are planning to play vr too, then 100% go to the index with their controllers and stuff.
Will I can't thank you enough for these videos. I've learned so much in my 3 months of sim racing from you and these videos. Very much appreciate your dedication to the community. Installing my ButtKicker now and this made it so simple. Cheers!!
Mine arrived today and I’m setting it up this weekend. This is the video that finally sold it to me! I can’t wait to play dirt rally 2.0 in VR with this ! Thank you for a great and enthusiastic video !
This is a brilliant review. Your reaction is priceless when you start driving but also your consideration for those of us who have families who we don't want to annoy with vibrations and sounds. Subscribing. Great stuff
my buttkicker was stored since my ps3 because I did not knew how to mixte the sounds on PC. Thanks!\ I will now use it again! Such a big difference with it!
Buttkicker ordered and wind machine now built and installed, its gonna be a fun weekend. Keep up the great videos Will, you are one of my favorite sim youtubers at the moment.
Holy Smoke Will from NZ...I watched this vid when researching bass shakers for using on my Sim in ACC and PC2 ..... This Really Really is as good as your reaction once driving ....GAME CHANGER does not even describe it.. Works so well and not noisy you just feel that Rumble.....I really need a lesson though on fine Tuning the Simhub bass shaking software I think this could be your next video mate Craigo
Any chance you can send me a pic of your simhub screen with what you have turned on and the volume values and Amp settings...Cheers Dude maximus.dolby@gmail.com
Quick update; I bought the BK gamer 2 thanks to your review. Im not as exited as you, but thats more because the oculus rift s was much more of a wow factor. I tried the subwoofer mode 1st, but that wasnt good, then went the simhub route and that is an amazing piece of software. I like how that feels and how you dont hear the gamesounds through the speaker like with the sub mode. Overall Im happy
Loving your videos man! A heads up for you...pluging both the LFE and Centre (black & red RCA plugs) into the amp can cause slight phase cancellations (a large drop in amplitude). Use one or the other but normally recommend the LFE (black plug). If the sim doesn't output a specific LFE (like iRacing) then swap it out for the red centre channel or one of the front channels and crank up the intensity to get some low frequencies out of it. iRacing will get XAudio and it will fix all this. Cheers!
I used to have a five transducer setup with simvibe (4 corners + 1 under the seat) but kept blowing the fuses in my amp. Still worth the money I think for the extra immersion before motion rigs. Lots of cables though.
Will I just got the Buttkicker 2 for Christmas. I really love the new immersion. But I cannot get the settings to what I like. Did you make a settings video for what you did with the SimHub settings? I would be curious how you have yours setup. Great videos and content. I am amazed at the 65's. That must be ridiculous to drive in.
Came back here...almost 2 years later to say thanks for this video it helped me a lot get my buttkicker going...thanks for telling the world about simHub.
Buttkickers are epic ... I have the “advanced” buttkicker 300watt version and it shakes my entire couch 🛋 decently for my sim driving. When I first got it with Call Of Duty, a friend fired his LMG next to me in game and I had to jump off the couch from the shock lol.
Finally on pc and can really see what this thing can do with “more” discreet audio signals… seems like I’ve had it over a decade on console. Thanks in 2024. 🥳🥳🥳
And thanks mate. Your video sold me. Received mine today for my F-GT rig. Will now go and get it going. Looking forward to my own outbursts 'Boosted Media'-Style. :P
Okay cool part is I am getting Next Level racing F-GT rig with triple monitor mount and the buttkicker so this is perfect. Letting me actually see how it works in my future rig
Did you ever get the settings tweaked to your liking for a single BK Gamer 2 Setup?! Mine comes in tomorrow and I'd love to have a great place to start with the settings.
The important input sensation is how accurately it relates the sensation of the back left and back right tires. I ca appreciate the "clunking" noises but it will be most useful when recognizing weather or not you are losing traction to the rear tires.
Great Video! Wondering whether you have tried SimVibe at all? Also, what settings do you use on your amplifier? low filter cut off: on/off?, High cut off frequency number and High: on/off?
This is an awesome way to get into somewhat of motion racing without breaking the bank thank god I watched this vid otherwise I wouldn’t have got it thinking I needed a motion set up
Ok after seeing all the praise for the gamer 2 I pulled the trigger. Would this still be the preferred setup method for iracing or using the lfe in the iracing sound menu. Thanks!!
I just got one and found that it only lasts about 20-30min before it shuts down, probably due to overheating. It then takes about 30min before it comes back on. Really frustrating. I don't think I'm pushing it too hard as the clip light only flashes on for a moment every now and again. Has anyone else had this issue?
Where did you get the BK from for 299??? best I can find it for is $349 from Pagnian. Also what if you only going to use it on a console? its not like you can use the extra software that you mentioned. Are you able to put something out with the BK on its on as is for a console by any chance please. PS Great video
It was on special for the post Christmas sales when I bought it. If you’re using it on console you can’t use the special software like shown in the video.
Maybe for racing machines, definitely not for truck simulators. Save your bucks. I had one of these things for about a month. The day I decided to get rid of it, was a happy day. I went out and treated myself to a grande Frappuccino to celebrate. Glad others have had better luck than I did. Enjoy!
I like the look of this product. I would like to use it with a theater seat. Unfortunately this ButtKicker Gamer 2 is not designed to be installed inside of theater seating. Could I use this setup with a different ButtKicker transducer?
The coil wire from the buttkicker to the amp has a big and a small coil, make sure you put those in the right spot cause mine came off. I put it on correctly but the manufacture did ask if I placed it on correctly.
Problem I've just become aware of is that using a Y-splitter for this device means the other speakers get a mono signal... To me, that's a pretty big detriment to using something like this. Is there a way around that?
I know this is an older video now but just wandering if you know where can get hold of the buttkicker mount that you have. I dont have a nextlevel rig but i have a similar point on the frame to be able to bolt a mount to and so i can then get a BK to work effectively. I assume that came with the rig I guess? Hatrd to find something that works. Even if tried to get some aluminim piping with a clamp and a piece of pipe but not sure where. Cheers.
Which frequenzy do you use on the buttkicker amp? Do you have it on high or low filter ? & what volume do you use on the buttkicker. Amp settings: Myself i have it on 60 on the scale, just tried the high filter, & 4 cliks on the volume, but I seem to struggle a little with the fine tuning, because every game seems to be a little different. Any tips and advice on the Sim hub settings? :) i want the rumble to feel as Realistic as possible :)
SimHub doesn't look like it supports DCS or Il2, what software options are there for flight simmers? Also, Buttkicker Gamer 2 vs Buttkicker LFE vs DIY option (like Dayton BST1 or Aurasound AST-2B)??
Great review. I have a A/V receiver connected to my Nvidia video card (HDMI) driving 5 speakers and headphones are wireless connected through USB. Will the buttkicker work with both sound outputs?
Can you verify if this device allows you to feel when tires lock in F1 2019? There is no FFB effect on the steering wheel to confirm locking wheels when you brake too much in that game. If this device would provide that it would be awesome.
Yes you can set it so it vibrates when the tyres lock if you wish to. I’d suggest turning on the understeer enhancement setting though to enhance the feeling of loss of grip on the front of the car.
@@boostedmedia Cheers, I received mine today, one more question: I gather that we don't need to buy an additional soundcard or USB headphones at all if our PC has a normal sound output jack on the motherboard and at the same time is connected to a TV/Monitor through HDMI which carries audio. So in Windows 10 we can choose to output sound either through the PC motherboard Line out jack or simply through the headphone out jack on the TV (which can output the HDMI audio it receives directly from the Nvidia graphics card). I hope that's correct. In that scenario, which would advise to hook the BKG2 and Simhub up to? Obviously the soundcard in the PC motherboard is beefier, probably has better impedance, more equalizer options, etc. The TV headphone out jack carrying the HDMI audio directly from the Nvidia 1080Ti is tinny to listen to on headphones. In that trade off which would you choose? Better sound into your ears or better sound into the BKG2 amp via Simhub? Or does the quality/fidelity of the sound output not really make much difference to the operation of the BKG2 in Simhub? Thanks again! Your channel rules
If adding a second kicker, where in the back of the PC do you connect? So I want a kicker on the seat and one for the pedal. How do I connect PC to both Amps?
Ciao nice video, i have one of this buttkicker gamer 2, but sadly its closed in a box in garage, i usuali play shooter type game i didnt find a way to drive it well, is sim hub able to do that or any kind of similar software?
Simhub requires a digital telemetry stream to work. So unless the game outputs that (I don’t know of any non-sim racing games that do) then no unfortunately. You’re limited to using the sub frequencies and high/low pass filters on the amp.
I kind of imagine that, i think the game engine has to separate the various audio phaterns, but it could be a way of doing it outside the game engine, in a shooter like example the division? I whould like to see using your knoledge to experiment that, big thanks
Can this be run from your tv with Xboxone with a generic setting or do you need the software on pc to get it started and setup properly?....perhaps laptop?
I'm interested in buying one, except worried because of how many people have mentioned theirs breaking (blown amplifier). It's like 20% of the comments are about this breaking. Is there a decent alternative that won't break?
Can it be used to simulate the vibration the Xbox controller would produce in any game that supports Xbox controller vibration? I use a flight and pedal setup for racing games but miss having vibrations.
Hello. Great video and I also watched your GT Track build video since I just purchased one and assembled today. In the manual it says to mount on either of support brace under seat that run front to back under seat but you mounted on one of the left to right cross members. It would seem your approach would make more sense because the manual would have it slightly off center to one side or the other whereas your mounting has it centered. Did you test this or get guidance from NLR to setup this way and ignore manual? Thanks and keep up the great videos.
Great video! are you going to get some bass traducers and put one under your pedals to feel the vibration in pedals and what about getting another to enable more effects or is one buttkicker fine?
So I have my PC sound coming out of my Soundbar and wireless Subwoofer (JBL 9.1) connected through ARC... how would I connect the amp to the back of my PC so that the sound and bass still comes out from my soundbar and also to have the vibration coming from the shaker separately? Like I have the one black and red cord (black only plugged into the top port), then do I plug the other end into the green port on the back of my PC?
I have a senhimer gsx 1000 amp and dac how do i connect the butt kicker with my amp and dac? It is connected with a usb cable to a micro usb to the amp and dac. The amp and dac sits on my desk
Here’s my build from back in the day, not much sim gear available back then and what was available was very expensive mysimracerproject.blogspot.com/2009/04/my-sim-racing-project.html?m=1
How do you fix the fact that the vibrations coming through simhub don't correlate with the FFB coming through the steering wheel? Like the wheel ffb will pick up a bump but the shaker won't. It's kind of mushy and confusing feedback at the moment.
Guys i have the buttkicker installed and my sound is via headphones. Is it normal, that the sound is veeery bass? Im playing acc and it is not nice to hear that extrem bass and the sound of the engines are going under. Please help me if its possible to change that bass. I use simhub.
I have an American bass setup running 2 15's behind me 1 10 inch under the seat and 3 12's up front, running a second amp for low mids 2 door speakers and 2 rear speakers with 2 tweeters on each side of the dash. Can I configure this to a surround system? Or wire this into my current one? I see they sell the buttkicker without the wiring so you can wire it yoursel
If I was setting up a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos, but in a gaming layout, could I pass-though the subwoofer sound from Receiver-Buttkicker Amp-Subwoofer via the RCA in & out?
I'm so glad I found this video as I am getting a gaming PC and thinking of getting buttkicker gamer 2 as well. I got an old "Creative desktop theater 5.1 DTT3500 digital" and I am thinking to hook up along with buttkicker gamer 2..both on separate soundcard..will that works? And occasionally I would like to use my wired headset....I hope u understand what I intended to achieve. 😂 Thanks in advance - one of your big fan.
hi just got mine and this is a great addition to my VR setup. Only thing i could not get right till now is the vibration from the kerbs (in ACorsa). I can't feel them. did you find a good way to configure this?
What do you think of the Next Level Racing F-GT Formula & GT Simulator Cockpit- Matte Black is it still worth it ? Please tell me your thoughts on it thanks :)
@@boostedmedia Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Leather Edition or g920 and also please tell me why ?? Please go into depth of why you pick that one please i would really appreciate it :)
We tried to about a year ago when they first came out. They sent us 4 of them. We had electrical issues with them tripping the RCD at both my house and my studio so after extensive troubleshooting we sent them bs k so they could investigate. They said they couldn’t find a problem and we haven’t seen other people reporting the same issue so I guess it must have just been extremely bad luck on our part. Either way we haven’t heard from them again.
