We've sterilized our grain in the pressure cooker and now it's time to inoculate the jars so the mycelium can start to grow and become mushrooms. In this part I'll walk you through the process of inoculating a grain jar using a liquid culture.
We'll also go through the benefits of using a still air box to prevent any contamination while you inoculate your grain jars, but I'll also show you a method of flame sterilizing your liquid culture needles in case you don't have a still air box.
My Etsy Shop: www.etsy.com/shop/TinyWorldLa...
The equipment we used in this mycology project is:
- Agaricus bisporus liquid culture
- Still air box
- Custom grain spawn jars (check my Etsy shop)
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Latex gloves
- And last, but not least...a blow torch.
I hope you are enjoying our hobby level dive into mycology. Let's see if we can grow some button mushrooms!

That raw mushroom must’ve tasted like the finest of soils.
