Right so; I ordered these batteries purely on your recommendation and I decided to test all of my current DMW-BLF19 batteries. I used my GH5 set to 4k 8 bit 24p with IBIS turned on (camera only) and left it recording until it turned itself off, the results of my current stock were: Expro circa 2015 - 2hs 15; Panasonic from 2019 - 2hs 12; Panasonic from 2018 - 2hs 06; Panasonic from 2015 - 2hs 00; DSTE from 2019 - 2hs 02; DTSE from 2018 - 1hr 59; Jinboshi from 2019 - 1hr 56; a pair of PowerExtra from 2018 - 1hr 46 & 1hr 36. Then the Newmonas came in at 2hs 06 and 2hs 03 ,which is impressive, and they come in their own plastic tubs (like miniature tupperware). So those two underperforming PowerExtras are destined for recycling now!

The G9 is the only camera I have trouble using third party batteries in. Tried Wasabi, Watson, and Neewer. I get warning messages from all from time to time.

Useful review! Yup, they're good, very very good for the price. I've got no problems using (decent) 3rd party batteries, I've used them for years, and the saving is enormous. Add in the very useful dual battery charger, and those great battery cases, and it's a no brainer to add the Newmowa's a back-up batteries. Ex-Pro is another excellent battery brand to look out for.

Wasabi and ravpower do very good ones too! I think the 3rd party manufacturers have really stepped up their quality. There was a time years and years ago the market was very iffy! But certain brands have established great leaps forward with their tech and you're absolutely right they're a no brainer for solid back ups, which is precisely what mine will be 🤓 thanks for the comment Andrew! 😎 Happy shooting 📸

I used to always purchase 3rd party batteries. They are cheaper, some are actually higher mAh rating, and have good review. After a few years they are inferior. Every single one I've had for GF1, GM5, GX8. Some even expand and don't even fit into the camera anymore. Most last less than half of the OEM battery. I stick to OEM from now on for my G9.

That's very fair Alan! That's bad luck with the ones you've tried. I certainly had some duds in the past. Lots of people in the comments here say they've had the Newmowa batteries for 1-2 years and they're as good as day one so I'm hopeful 😎

My experience of non-genuine batteries like this is of lower over all life expectancy,but as was the The case with my Canon I got more photos from these than I did with the OEM ones.There wasn't £60 worth of chemicals in the Canon battery that wasn't in the cheaper batteries at £4 each.

I once used an 3rd party batterie for my G5, was really happy with it until it melted in my Camera. I know the prices can be tempting, especially when you want more of them for longer shooting sessions, but I would rather have an original one, than one where I cannot say for sure if it damages my Camera.

Hey, Connor, it's been 2 years since you made this video. Could you share an update? Do they still hold up? I'm getting a G9 and after extensive research, I am here. There is very little information on these 3rd party batteries, and there are a lot of them-just not a lot of written (or video) reviews. And I don't want to purchase anything without reviews anymore-that's exactly what broke my Blackmagic. I'm considering either this or the Duracell equivalent (I am torn as at least, Duracell is a universally recognized brand). Perchance have you tried those too? On the other hand, Amazon is saying there are only 2 left in stock of the Newmowa, so I am tempted to buy 2. Would appreciate your response, thank you and good day!

Or £24.89 from Amazon UK (I just ordered them!) Which is one penny more than the single Duracell battery that I was just thinking about buying (name you can trust n all that)

I had the Duracell in my shopping basket but thought I'd give the Newmowa a spin first and see what they're up to! I'm so glad I did! Performance and price for 2 batteries, cases and a dual charger!! So good 😍 I can go out and not have a care in the world about my battery life now!!📷

Connor Dunne I have never had a battery that comes with a case. Mine are all in little plastic bags (i feel like a cannabis dealer 🤦‍♂️) I did actually test all my batteries last year (left the camera recording 4k with the IBIS on) and I ditched the pair of Expro batteries as they were shite. I have three OE batteries and they’re grand but the 2 Powerextra and Jinboshi also made the cut but they live in the G9 bag whereas the OE batteries live with the GH5 as that’s more power hungry.

I know!! These little cases made me want to get a few more and also some for my Sonys! 🤓 I've had Expros before with my GH5 and they were half the capacity of the officials. Needless to say they didn't get much use from me

Ooooh have I a tip for you! Anpost address pal! Get an account and you send your batteries to there from Amazon and they'll bring them over to your home address (for a fee) in the Republic, no problem 🤗 addresspal.anpost.ie/

Appreciate it! 😎 Parcel motel also do the same thing as anpost address pal but the address for parcel motel is in northern Ireland so batteries still won't go there form Amazon UK. Anpost address pal is located in England so gets around it😎 let me know how you get on with the batteries if you get them man 📸

I buy a lot from Amazon in the UK and use Amazon Prime. I regularly get stuff delivered to my address in Ireland, usually a day after the cited UK delivery date, no problems at all. If you use Amazon a lot then maybe paying for the Prime service would be worth it. Or to put the cart before the horse, decide you're going to use Amazon for a lot of your purchasing and then go for Amazon Prime! Edit: I bought THESE ones for my G9 and they're doing fine (greater mAh than the Panasonic issue; 7.2v, 2000mAh, 14.4 Wh) and also a double charger as shown in Connor's vid above. has anyone had any issues with camera performance (sd card raw file errors or other damages to sd cards) when using third party batteries for the G9? I would think that the battery is simply used for powering the camera and should not affect the performance. I've had people tell me that the batteries make a difference with that. curious to hear any thoughts. thanks!

@@CreativeConnor 💯 worth the price. I mean, the dual charger and the weathered sealed battery cases are in itself a great selling point. I've used them for two years now and they're still holding up. I don't think they've lost any life. Any G9 owner should have a set tbh
