Third Honda 400ex added to the collection.This one is a little rough! While we are rebuilding the other 400ex we can work on this one. I'd use the the bottom end out of this one for the blown up 400 and use the aftermarket muffler for the good 400 along with the Nerf bars off the blown up 400 for the good 400 and whatever left over parts to build a third bike to sell to get back some of the money from all 3 bikes

That yellow filter could be the oem one, hondas air filters stock are yellow

I have a built 400 myself. Set up for the track. It’s a great bike. Honda’s are the best. The 400EX is a great trail/trial/whatever fun quad.

It's not even that great of a platform honestly. The pilot and the Odyssey are coo but yerf dog had a better suspension setup. I really want an Odyssey though to put a street bike engine on. That would be wild.

Your never gonna find a fl400 less than 3k not running. Odyssey maybe but certainly not gonna find a good deal on a pilot

Get a fl250 there not as cool but you can get them way cheaper, the ones like mine with a aftermarket cage are cool and fun

Jered Almeida I hear you. We just found a fl400 that’s five minutes from my house. he had it listed for 6000 but we talked him down to 5500 and it came with all the paper work and it doesn’t need anything. But there definitely quality machines. But they suck in trails cause there a 2 stroke and there Cvt driven so it’s hard to keep it in the high rpms So you don’t foul out the plug in the trails. But there getting rarer and rarer every year and there just plain cool and you never see them anymore except the dunes. And yeah ur so right about the overpriced listing there was at least 4-5 listings that people were asking 12000 or more for a Pilot.

This one looks like alot of work man! I seen on the oil filter cover bolt was stripped out and re threaded with another bolt so becareful when you put a new filter in it.

Hey does anyone know what i can do I bought my first 4x4 four wheeler used a polaris sportman 500 i was told it was just the carburetor but I rebuilt the carburetor and i put new spark plugs and it has a new solenoid good battery it turns over but wont start anything you guy can tell me

You should put the aftermarket exhaust on your nice 400ex and put the stock one from the nice 400ex on this one

Make sure to paint the frame with a rattle can, it will make that other guy/crybaby smoke more than he normally does!

im about to do my first rebuild on my xr400r top end do i need to drain all the oil to do it??? its pretty much the same engine as 400ex so do u drain it? just annoying cause i just did a oil change and i will have to do another after the rebuild

If she runs, throw that engine in the grey one for now, have 2 running quads while you rebuild the other engine. Then you could do a restoration video on the new 400
