Hi everyone,
I hope you enjoy this video of me buying my first ever Rolex.
I'm so glad that I could bring you along to the experience and document this bucket list moment in my life. Collecting my new Rolex Datejust 41mm Ref 126334 with a Blue dial, Jubilee Bracelet and White Gold Fluted Bezel.
As stated in the video, I was lucky enough to receive the call from my local Rolex Authorised dealer. The team at Mappin and Webb were fantastic and made the whole experience a special moment that I will cherish forever.
The watch collecting community on RU-vid has been an excellent source of entertainment for me while being stuck indoors due to the pandemic. I hope this video brings someone out there some entertainment and advice as many other videos on youtube have done for me.

Great video. What a beautiful watch. The sun burst blue dial really does pop on this Rolex ! Absolutely stunning. The combination of the dial the jubilee strap and the white gold fluted bezel is perfection. It lights up like a disco ball ! I want one !

Completely agree the bezel and bracelet together work perfectly! Yep I don.t disagree mate. I think the wimbledon, roman white and blue dial are all all equal in my opinion.

Congrats on the purchase and I also picked up my first Rolex today and it’s the exact same spec as yours but with the black dial. Preferred blue, but unavailable from my local AD. Also have a Breitling, chrono colt ocean model 2001. Looking forward to either a Yachtmaster or Milguass whenever one comes available

Hey, I'm from the USA. I went to several ADs and I'm on a wait list for this exact setup.. in my opinion, this is much nicer then the sport watches, batman and pepsi.

The day will come my friend and it will exceed all of your expectations. Videos and photos of the watch do not do it justice at all. I hope in a few years I can be offered GMT II. Theres no waitlist. Depends on your luck. Just keep going to them every single day. Coz I was told from one of them salesman that there is actually no waitlist :) and they preffer giving it to the regular costumers.

@@mohamedalhammadi3806 I walked into an AD in March. and there was a 2 tone DJ 41. Black Dial, Oyster, Fluted bezel. I fell in love with it and i grabbed it. I like it better then the all stainless.. thanks though man

Congratulations mate. You picked an absolute stunner. You picked a great configuration. I am on the (long) waiting list for a DateJust, and I have both the green and blue motif on order to test out both. I’m starting to think the smooth blue dial may be the best looking. And of course, I’ve ordered both on jubilee with fluted bezel. What colour should I go for? I like the blue motif, but will is still be desirable in years to come? Any advice or help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

I am happy for you...glad you got what you wanted. Good video. It is a beautiful watch. It is. Good choice with the jubilee. I own an Aqua Terra (white dial) and a globemaster with annual calendar instead of a datejust. I do have two Rolex watches. Datejust was my preferred Rolex from years ago but own an older GMT and new AirKing.

Omg that’s an amazing collection you have! Truly amazing pieces. How often do you get to wear them? I’m in love with my DJ but my Tag Is still the heart of my collection. It holds so many memories for me and the sentimental value outweighs any monetary value i could be offered for it.

You had a much better experience with an AD via Watches of Switzerland than I did. Made contact with the manager from their store in Las Vegas. Told him I was looking at the OP or Datejust 41. He said he would "put me on a list" but promised nothing. Two months later I get a call, and he's got a watch... an Explorer II. $2000 more than the watch I wanted. He said that before I could get what I wanted I needed to develop a "relationship" with them. Total BS.

Hi Adam. Wanted to give you a quick shout out as I have stumbled upon your video. My first Swiss watch was a Tag Heuer Aqua Racer. My wife calls it the gateway watch. Like you, I love all brands. Ive always wanted a Rolex and my AD called me one day to come pick up a Batman. I held on to the watch for a couple of months and it really didn't do anything for me. So I sold it and bought a Datejust. Hands down one of my favorites. People may think Im crazy for giving up a Batman for a Datejust. But its what speaks to you and do you get enjoyment out of it. Wear it in good health. Great choice!

Picked up mine last month, it's my new daily (it replaced a 2020 Datejust 41 with white stick dial, smooth bezel and Oyster bracelet) and I am absolutely thrilled with it. Mine is the exact spec yours is, hope you enjoy it and thanks for taking us with you for this wonderful occasion!

I just got my DJ41 white index dial, fluted, jubilee bracelet. I hesitated for a silver dial, but I love the clinical, aseptic look! I love that blue dial too! Wow! How are you enjoying yours now that some time has passed?

Great day Adam, and congratulations! I was in the shower yesterday when my AD called to offer me the exact watch with blue dial also. I own 3 DJ41’s with silver dial in other configurations so I had mentioned when the silver with fluted jubilee comes in, call me. But if they see a blue I might be interested as well..... I’m probably going to trade in a couple DJ’s because I don’t need 4! If it means anything I’ve worn Rolex professional models for several decades, but always lusted after the DJ. In recent years I’ve purchased Explorers 1&2’s, Daytona, SSGMT-BLRO, etc, etc, but enjoy the DJ very much. The only thing I didn’t care for in your video was you didn’t wear the DJ leaving the shop. 😀 Great video, thanks!

Hi MrG! Thanks so much for the comment! So glad you liked the video! I’m absolutely over the moon with my first Rolex and honestly thought the day would never come. I was also registered for a 36mm version, I really didn’t have a preference in the sizes as I think they are both beautiful! Wow! Those are some heavy hitters! I bet the Dayton was amazing! I would love to try one on! Haha! Me too, but in all honesty I was terrified even walking down the street with it in the box. Plus I thought I would let the girlfriend enjoy the unboxing with me 😂

do you feel a Datejust is a less desirable watch then the rolex sport models? i personally like the DJ41, and I am on a waiting list. I wanna make sure I am not getting a undesirable rolex. even though, the DJ are more money then the GMT batman and pepsi (retail)

@@miketorre16 I mentioned earlier I only wore professional models for over 35 years, but only seem to wear Datejusts now. I simply prefer the case profile of the DJ, DD, (Explorer-I, and Daytona too) way more than the Subs/GMTs. I buy watches "I" prefer, and don't care about desirability of others, nor resale value. As I type I'm wearing a two-tone yellow/steel Datejust with silver dial on jubilee. Many guys on the forums wouldn't want it, but I like it.

@@miketorre16 I personally dont. I think that social media has pushed an unrealistic hype on the 'sports models'. The DJ 41 I purchased blew my mind when I finally saw it in person. I feel its wearable on any occasion, such a versatile piece

I went to a local AD yesterday and saw a DJ 41/black/gold and silver 2 tone/fluted/on an oyster and MAN it is a sharp looking watch. So I grabbed it. Absolutely elegant, classy, rich looking. Like I should be driving a rolls royce. I personally think the sport models have too much going on. But they are nice, Not for double retail. Thanks

I am also interested in buying the same watch - but I'm torn between the blue dial, the wimbledon dial or even going for a two-tone gold with wimbledon dial, as spotted from you in the shop-window. I think the contrast of the steel, gold and grey/green dial is amazing. But also the azzuro blue with the roman dials looks nice. I know its all up to personal taste, but what are you thoughts about it? If Rolex would only offer a blue dial on the two tone as they did in the 80/90ies.. thank you for your answer!

Thanks mate I’m in absolute love with it. I registered interest for Both. As due to lockdown was unable to go try them on. But when the 41mm was revealed and I was shown the 36mm I knew the 41mm was for me ( personally).

Hi mate! Thanks so much! Yes, when you buy a brand new rolex through the watches of switzerland group, they extend the warranty a further 5 years! I was shocked to find this out, but happy to take it nevertheless!

Got a tag aquaracer and Dj 126234, which is the same as urs but 36, amazing watch!! I think this looks better than the much sort after sports Rolexes, but to each their own, well done mate!

Nice watch! Just noticed you are wearing the watch all the way to the end of your wrist. The crown will create an imprint to your hand bec there is no space when you move but hey its your watch you can wear it however you like.

Hi mate, it does vary, but it's more accessible than some of the other models. I just made sure I showed the AD a keen interest and proved I wasn't a flipper

I’m going to my Local AD next Saturday to decide which colour I want, I’m swaying towards the jubilee, fluted bezel and the slate/rhodium dial but this could change when I see the others in person. One thing I want to know is do you find the watch feels at all too heavy with the jubilee bracelet? The oyster seems a lot more stable. I feel you’re excitement though mate, I can’t wait!

Hi mate! Awesome choice! I have a work colleague who has that spec and it looks amazing! I’d say the rhodium, blue and white Roman are the best three. No not at all the jubilee is unbelievably comfy. Once you try it on you will no doubt pick it over the oyster! Really sturdy and well made!

@@Experienceitwithadam thanks for the response. This will be my first luxury watch purchase so I want to make sure I’m picking the right model. I think I’ll still go with the Slate/Rhodium dial, I do like the Wimbledon’s but the single stick at the 9 position just irritates my OCD. The jubilee sounds great and will prevent visible scratches so sounds good all round. Think I’ll be investing in a Rubber B strap for more casual wear to stop the clasp getting scratched up. 👍🏻

@@marris9210 Sounds like you are in exactly the same boat as me mate. Ive wanted a rolex for years, but these things arent cheap. Its taken years of savings just for me to get the DJ. Nice one I have to say the waiting list vary massively at AD’s - I live in London & purchased the Rolex Deepsea James Cameron blue dial at the AD & registered my interest for the latest 2021 submariner & 2021 seadweller with red text & got both within 3 months 😉

While you were waiting for year for the watch did you ever have to pop in the Rolex ad just to enquire what’s the update is ?

No I never mentioned my registrations as that just annoys them, If they could sell you the watch they would, but they only get sent so many a year and the model you want may not even get given to the show room by Rolex. Just keep popping in a buying gifts as and when you need them, show loyalty.

Damn I Love my watch. This thing looks better in person. I thought I'd bought my last Rolex, but I had to get this. I've been luckily fortunate. And I got this at a decent price. There's just something about the Jubilee. I have the GMT ll Jubilee, but this looks so much better.

to me the best looking model in the rolex range though personally I'd go for 36 mm and maybe Roman numerals...I have a 6426 oyster which I bought in 1989 and still have today,funnily enough I've never wanted to sell it or buy another one as I looked on it as a once ever purchase but that's just me.

Thanks Jim! I absolutely love it! To be honest I too was drawn between 36mm and 41mm but didn't have a preference on either size! I hope that this is a watch i never find myself in a position ever having to sell. I like to think of them as time capsules of life experiences.

Looks smashing mate enjoy it! Last October I picked up my first Rolex - a Submariner no date from the AD. I was suprised that they offered me it. I must admit, on the day I was almost shaking, it's quite a surreal experience! Regards

I’ve got the same dial on my Datejust II with oyster bracelet. Comparing the 2 I notice the bezel on the II is slightly larger so does that mean more gold?

@@miketorre16 Ive only had it a week and due to the lockdown I haven't been able to really wear it anywhere. However close friends who also love watches are in love with it. The Tag is so sentimental to me as my mother and father gave me £100.00 towards it on my 21st Birthday 6 years ago. Sadly I lost my mum in August last year. The watch means so much to me now. due to these memories. It's funny how value can be assessed financially and sentimentally.
