Dollar Tree sells sippy cups with the clear plastic thing that goes inside the lid... plastic thing in OR out they rarely leak... slung all over the cars dropped / thrown on the floor they are working wonderful for my grandson of 18 months. They have Sesame Street peeps on them. Dollar General also carries 1.00 cups same type as the dollar tree ones for 1.00 they just have words and or sayings on them and not characters. Having said that, if the clear thing is out and they are determined to shake it upside down to MAKE the liquid come out, well... it will but still slowly and they have to be determined to do it.

thank u for the tip about the tin/can tops, I didn't realize that pull ring ones dnt last as long, I'll need to re-organize my cupboards and put those ones at front. I live alone and make freezer meals and it's worth taking a day or so to do it. I make my son some things too from time to time when requested 😆. The prices in the UK have gone up a lot too, I usually go to 4 different shops for my things and I will bulk buy when there's a deal on or it's down in price. My milks probably the cheapest in lidl it's 59p a litre for soy milk so I buy a case of 8 and it's shelf milk so it lasts me around 2 month. I probably spend more on my 2 cats than I do myself tho, can't help myself 😂. Another great video, much ❤️ from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 UK.x

My eldest always drank from glass cups since she was a baby, she has never broken a glass as of yet, and has only spilled a hand full of times…. As for my youngest, it’s another story, spills all the time, she’s a fidgeter, so water bottles and cups with lids are best.

Just a tip- those pork loin roasts can be cut into chops for anyone wanting to save per pound for those chops you got for the grill. I’m sure you’re aware and need the convenience of not having to do that, although it would make a good video for a Miesen knife. 😜

That is exactly what we do. We cut them into chops, pork "tenderloin" roasts, cubes for stew. We trim all the fat off as we go and then grind that into sausage, breakfast, Italian and chorizo.

Prices here in UK have doubled in grocery shopping it's ridiculous people are having to go to food banks which is degrading for them, government don't put wages up to meet these rises that's why a lot of companies are going on strike you can't blame them. Utility prices have gone through the roof 🙈

We are going to use outside solar landscaping lights for evening. Use daylight when we have it. We use air on 78 most days with fans going throughout the house where we spend our time. Keep blinds closed on side the sun is coming in. We open windows in early morning if it isn't humid and turn fan on in windows to bring in cool air. We don't use the dryer much if any. Refrigerator kwh is good. After using microwave, computers, tv, it is unplugged. Hope this helps. Groceries....we buy meat on sale only. Trying to get farmers' market veggies to can if it is cheaper.

I try to plan meals around meat sales, and use a fruit stand for seasonal produce deals, but our grocery receipts are running 25% higher this month. The kids are home, and eating more, so that accounts for some extra. We are in the Midwest.

My first boyfriend was one of 11 children, and his mom always had a pot of homemade beans on the stove, and homemade flour tortillas. It cost pennies to make and filled lots of bellies. I think we are going to have to shift our thinking back simple inexpensive meals, with basic ingredients. There's nothing better than a homemade tortilla with butter or cheese.

This summer we are blessed with a better harvest of some of our favorite veggies and that will make a good dent for a few months we are also learning to ferment so we will have our own pickles with good bacteria lol I'm reusing meat fat(filter through a coffee filter or a couple paper towels) this works wonderful as an oil substitute, is actually healthier than seed oils, and you already paid for it! We are not eating out as much and that's helped balance the budget for the extra at the store! Be well

We love the Nuby click/grip cups. If they are leaking from underneath the lid, unscrew the top and make sure the silicone part is flat against the lid and that it touches the outer edge of the rim. Sometimes the silicone part isn’t in just right and it leaks. Another tip is to wait for all the parts of the cup to dry before reassembling it and filling it up. Sometimes it can leak because there is liquid where liquid isn’t supposed to be and it doesn’t seal right causing leaks. Finally, they say bite proof, but keep a watch on the part where the liquid comes out on the top. The little straight silicone pieces on the inside can break and come off over time. Then, the liquid seems to come out too fast.

I used to depend highly on the large packs of walmart chicken breasts but the price has gone up so much! What used to be $10 is now $14-$15. That really caused a hit to my grocery budget. I'm exploring alot of recipes with minimal or no meat for at least one meal a week.

Some stores sell whole breasts with the bone and skin on for much cheaper.

Chicken pot pies are awesome to make. I use 1 to 1 1/2 chickens breasts to make 2 deep dish pot pies. I cook my chicken breasts til they a thoroughly cooked then shred them using my mixer. By shredding them when you mix all the ingredients together you will get a bit of chicken in each bite. It will work in chicken and rice dishes and chicken and noodle dishes too. It is a great way to stretch chicken.

We do cheap meals like burrito bowls and meals where we can use ground beef or shredded chicken and we just use less meat in them now. We also add more beans and cheap veggies like potato to bulk up meals.

As an Australian I can tell you we eat a lot of lamb! If you get it cheap it’s worth your time. Richer and more flavourful than beef and very tender. Get a cheap lamb shoulder and cut it up for use in the best stew you’ve ever had.

We haven’t bought salmon in so long, unless it’s pre frozen, then it’s a reasonable price even if it doesn’t taste as good. Fresh is $15/lb here and frozen is about $5.

Hi Jamerrill! My bestie used the kids Contigo cup with straw. No joke, you could flip this thing around a hundred times and if even a drop or two came out that was a lot. But if you used the straw it’s great.

I tried doing that, kroger lured me into the store with marked down on sale meat. They didn't have any left, so I spent 118.00 on junk food. I was so mad when I got home and looked at all the junk I somehow got involved with.

@@cathyeller5722 you are not a strong person. I absolutely do not buy junk food. I bake cakes and cookies and make my own bread. I only buy what I can’t make. Costco is not cheap. There fruits and vegetables are expensive, plus we are a small family. But still have to stay on budget. Especially if you are on a budget. I don’t think Jammeril knows what a budget is. All these non food Items are not needed.

@@evelinholmes6401 you do an excellent job! I’ve seen by this comment and some of your others, you refer to me not knowing what a budget is… That’s an odd thing to say to a woman who has scraped and used creativity add mega tons of hard work and sweat equity to build a business starting with a $20 investment (The $20 it took me to build my first website). Also, I am a woman who has saved and paid cash using no debt for many things using Dave Ramsey‘s principles. I also 100% support my family of 11 and pay good wages to the many people who work for my business. So to say I don’t know what a budget is is absolutely ridiculous. People can have different budgeted amounts, but I have also had many years of only having $250-$300 about the start to finish for my grocery budget and have experienced plenty.

I had only ment getting basics like beans, rice, pasta bulk items help with the cost problem. I was not talking about how she budgets. Everyone budgets different. You get more for your buck with dry goods and most people know this. Yes extra non food items do make a bigger bill, but even threw hard times something for yourself or family is okay.

I have used the diaper rash spray. I loved it. It was fast and convenient, mess free. It's great for the diaper bag. It is obviously thinner because it's a spray so if you thick coating creams you may not like it.

When I started shopping at Costco is 2017, the canned chicken was $9.99, hellmans Mayo was $3.99, butterball ground turkey was $17.99 (now $23.99, though I know some of that is the bird flu too). It’s absolutely insane. What used to be a $350 buggy of food for the month is now $700+ and it don’t even always last the month. It’s killing us! We’re only a family of 5 but I have 3 busy, growing, boys who eat more than I thought possible 😂 the snack food prices (I know they’re not a necessity) have gone up so much and it’s terrible! I used to be able to go spend $150 and have enough snacks for a whole summer of beach trips and now it’s closer to $300 and that’s being frugal.

It's the same in Australia ATM. And it's the basics food that has skyrocketed- the luxury end stuff like prawns, fancy icecream, pre-made high protein low carb meal bowls, fancy yoghurt, gourmet sausages.... The price of everything higher end has hardly moved but the staples and essentials us low-mid income poor peasants rely on have doubled and some tripled since 2020. If inflation is supposedly across the board we are absolutely subsidising the high end products- no surprises there!!

Jamerille - if you figure out the price per pound for that canned chicken, it will blow your mind! It would be cheaper for you to jar up your own ... I know it will take 75 minutes for pints, 90 minutes for quarts - but honey you will know what's in it and it is sooooo much cheaper! and in my opinion, it tastes better because the meat is juicier (I prefer the raw pack method).

Try non meat recipes. Try not buying juice boxes or lunchables stuff like that. Some Mexican food recipes like bean burritos, tacos, rice, tostadas, enchiladas, chicken green chili... ingredients are inexpensive and servings go a long way. Buy store brand always and try comparing price per ounce or pound because sometimes larger quantities (packages) are cheaper. Try old school meals like spaghetti, fried chicken, meatloaf, biscuits, pancakes stuff like that homemade with leftovers for another meal .. all this may help. I shop like this and cook like this and always look for the deals. I shop the sales and meal plan by that. Hope it helps you out and hope these prices stop climbing.
