Great video Shane mate. You really kept it quite balanced and fair, which is why I love your videos in general! Personally I’m currently waiting (14 days and counting) for them to actually ship out an order I placed with them, so I’m probably experiencing that “take the money and pick it up cheaper down the line” thing you mentioned! Really frustrating though. My excitement for it has turned more into frustration as the weeks have gone on, which is unfortunate! Anyway, great video mate. Stay disloyal 🙌🏻
So frustrating. It’s my #1 gripe with them. Moreso than even their silly shipping costs (although I received SS Luke today from SS and it was $50 shipping so TW are usually $70/80 so there’s not as much difference. If they sorted their shipping, and stopped the delays like he one you’re experiencing they would be much better.
@@OneSixthFigureFocus for sure mate - the have so much going for them! I think, again, like you mention, they are a small operation. When they first started out, they could probably keep up with the smaller demand, but as they’ve had more exposure, it’s kind of ran away from them a bit and they’re dropping the ball a lot more.
Good video. It's really nice to have a fellow european collector to relate to. This is such a game of finding the good deal and calculating shipping and import taxes. I do find the music in the background really annoying, but maybe I am just getting old?
I got two orders from them. No problems so far. They can even show the items' value lesser than their actual price if you request it from them, so you pay less tax in customs. I don't recommend it but some countries (like mine) have very high tax amounts... My only complaint is that they delay the pre-order dates almost everytime. I've waited more than 4 months to get my second figure.
I’m right there with you man. I just buy where I can get the most bang for my buck. With TW, I think a part of the problem is that their accounting department isn’t lock step with their sales and logistics. This happens in a lot of smaller companies where the customer has to initiate the communicating between the two groups. I had a figure on a payment plan, paid it off, and it sat around for a few weeks. I had to contact them and walk them through the shipping but none of that was terrible, just the price of doing business with a smaller operation. At the end of the day, it’s a toy so I don’t really get too razzed when I have to wait for something to ship as long as I know I’ll get it eventually. Keep up the great content!
Thanks for watching commenting. (Also your user name is 💯) We are in complete agreement. I will deal with some minor hassle and be more patient if it means I get a better deal. Frustrating as it can be it’s still a first world problem.
Good honest end non bias opinion. I simply searched Toys Wonderland after what I had just gone through, and this came up and I’m glad it did. Subscribed!!!
I've done 3 orders with Toys Wonderland so far. The first was for six troopers for army building, and it went okay. The second order was trouble. I made a large order for ten figures and applied a free shipping code. I was very excited. Some days later, I got an email from them that 9 of the ten figures did not qualify for free shipping. The one figure that did qualify was dispatched. Rather than pay their bloated shipping for the other 9 figures, I cancelled that part of the order. A week later, I did receive the one figure they sent (Hot Toys Rescue Armor Pepper Potts). I had to go back and forth with them for about a month before finally getting my (very large) refund. Instead of refunding the 9 figures, they refunded the entire order, so I ended up getting Rescue for free. Third Order : Like you, I received an email last week that my points were about to expire, so I cashed them it for about 85 USD. I then realized most of these points were for the second order that was actually cancelled, but I used the points anyway to get the Alita Battle Angel figure shipped for around 160 USD. I'm still waiting for it to arrive. They used Hong Kong post, so I imagine it will take forever to arrive. In hindsight, I would have preferred Endgame Black Widow, but oh well. So that's my experience thus far. One good order, one order that went sideways resulting in a free figure, and one deeply discounted figure arriving in the future. I am hesitant to use them for anything large like the Hulkbuster or Tumbler. I am also hesitant to use them with payment plans, which I am a big fan of. I am concerned that after the payment plan is done, they will slap me with unreasonably large shipping charges. I like to know upfront what the shipping will be, and who knows what shipping will be in 12 months time? Great video. Toys Wonderland aren't perfect, but you can do worse, in my opinion. Thanks for your well thought videos!
Totally agree, mate. I m in London and have my own channel too and bought quite a few from them. Ridiculous shipping cost and bad customer service. Have to chase them. Otherwise, they forget you. I have a spreadsheet with estimates date. Normally, they are alright. Some staff are nice but some are a pain. Depends on who you ended up talking on email and a bit of luck.
Interesting, I have just ordered from tw..... I'm hoping they don't do anything crazy. But as for import fees, I have never paid any. Thats coming from Japan shipping, China, Australia....
Liked this informative video. I just recently started to get back into Hot Toys. I've been using mostly Sideshow for my figs in the past but want to evolve. Thanks for the info on Toys Wonderland...been curious about them. Lots of negativity in the past. Request: post links to your favorite 1/6th sellers. Appreciated.
Thanks for the video, TW has good deals on overstocked figures. I had a long wait for my first 1/6 figure that I ever ordered (NATURO)…but thankfully they delivered it after 1yr and half… I can’t blame them for the delay and to be honest I would order again for a good deal
Toys Wonderland has alot of customer service issue they need to improve on. I had a item stuck in "waiting to shipped" for months and they never bother notify me of the delay. I had to emailed them and found out the shipping method they were using was in covid lockdown. I asked for a different shipping method and they offered DHL for a higher price which I decided to go with because I really wanted the figure. So they added that shipping cost on top of the previous shipping cost so I was paying double for shipping, which annoyed me but I went with it anyway and was excited to finally get the figure shipped. A few days later I get a email saying my figure was damaged during the shipping process and they would refund me along with a 10% discount code. I was pretty pissed, on top of that my points went negative because they gave me the points for that order and I used it for a different order which I did receive so I'll give them that. So my experience with TW is when it comes to deals its really good. Their shipping method seems shady and their customer service is crap compared to sideshow.
That’s a very bad experience right there. I haven’t experienced anything as bad as that but I completely agree about there shipping costs being ridiculous and SSs customer service is much better.
I went straight with DHL I recently ordered a commander Cody off there about a week ago so he’s shipping soon but I used DHL since it’s the most reliable one they use and won’t take a while to ship
Great video! pretty much mirrors my experience with them (bar the awesome discount scenario you had :D) ALways found them to be a decent company to deal with.
Same. They are slow, often frustrating but the figures come in the end for a good price. If they sorted out their shipping costs and improved customer service they could be a very good company.
I'm currently having some of the issues you have mentioned. EG Iron Patriot purchased under that great discount offer back in Feb... still yet to ship, shows as currently in stock. Received emails saying its been delayed... Also their shipping is highly questionable. Current shipping for what i priced up last night on DX-19 from HK to Australia came to 1000HKD for the usual DHL- thats 130USD. Thats BS!!!
Thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that. That is frustrating. I’d keep emailing them and if not happy do a chargeback on your card if that’s on option. I’d opt for the HK speedpost option. Cheaper, still tracked but not as fast.
I'VE BOUGHT 31 HOT TOYS COLLECTIBLES FROM THEM AND ONLY HAD A MINER ISSUE WITH 1. BASICALLY THEIR EXCELLENT, BUT THE EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE IS SOMETIMES AWEFULL!
2 weeks ago I received my Joker InArt double package Sculpted hair from Toys Wonderland, I am located in San Diego California, USA., no problems with them but I have to confess that my anxiety was so high through the waiting time and the reasons are all the complaints that many customers. Next time I will use a different company to buy InArt figures
I just had the worst, MONTHS long nightmare of an experience with them. I just finally got my Inart Joker deluxe set today, and I think it’s because I told them after months of excuses and lying, I was going to have to escalate and get in contact with PayPal, etc…. Mind you, I’m a patient person, but they were straight up clowning me for like 3 months, maybe more. With that said, that got their attention and they sent me a boiler plate response that I’ve seen other collectors post screen shots of saying it got caught up in customs, and it got sent back to them. But don’t worry! We’ll ship in the next 2 business days via DHL express at no extra cost to YOU! Well, that means they never shipped it, and they know you’re fed up. They actually followed through and just a couple days later I finally got it. That day was today, and I finally freaking have it. Unfortunately I still have Inart Aragorn and Gandalf on order with them, and I don’t look forward to the nightmare that lies ahead. When those are done, I will no longer buy from TW. They might finally get your item to you, but not without crazy inflated shipping costs and the crazy mind games. I say go with Kit Chen at OneSixthKit. That dudes customer service is second to none. Only downside is he doesn’t offer any kind of payment plan, which is basically how I afford all the stuff I have. There are so many different options other than TW. They need to take ownership for how badly they handle business, and instead of doing the easy thing in admitting fault and moving forward with a better business model, they find it better to lie and play games with collectors/buyers.
TW give you a phantom tracking number and you have to constantly email them with regards to instock items. The customer service centre uses generic useless emails in reply. If they could actually get the item in transit on route it would be no problem. They seem to think that a week later and another 5 days until tracking is available is acceptable. TW take the money quickly and are not as quick in the delivery of the item. Steer clear people.
Thanks for sharing your experience with TW! I am thinking about pulling the trigger on the heavily discounted HT artillery storm trooper and Shoretrooper Grunt, but I am debating between using DHL - Express shipping or HK Post - Surface Parcel shipping. When you had to wait a long time for your 2 pack boba fett to be shipped, were you using DHL or HK Post shipping? I just noticed how cheap HK Post Surface Parcel shipping is to the US compared to DHL Express but I'm concerned about waiting months and having my order lost or damaged. Plus, those prices on the troopers I mentioned earlier will probably hike up or sell out later, while I wait months for my order. So, if the prices hike up and I want to get a replacement of my order sent to me for being lost or damaged, will I be charged extra. Or, if the the figure from one of my orders sell out and need a replacement (lost or damaged), will TW guarantee a refund to me, along with other discounts you were granted from your orders? By the way, how do you calculate the customs duty tax rate of your country? Sorry if this is a lot of questions, but I would appreciate to hear a little more about your experience from TW!
First off, thanks for watching and commenting. The Boba 2 pack was shipped via DHL but the issue was they “forgot” to ship it until I “reminded” them. The rest of your questions are best directed to TW customer services. CS@Toyswonderland.com In terms of tax? You’ll find that on your governments revenue/tax website. Just google “Your country” import tax laws/calculator. 👍🏼
As a fellow paddy, recommend trying out La Cite Des Nuages. They are Belgian I believe and have decent enough prices considering everything. 355 for Maul including shipping. I would have probably paid 400 for him from Sideshow or Toyswonderland
the only thing i have heard that was bad about toys wonderland is that you pay for 7-14 day shipping and it doesnt arrive until 30-45 days later .. i have a statue on preorder wiht them so i guess we will see if that is true or not
4 years ago I had no issues with TW but 2 years ago is when they started to become extremely slow. Last month I purchased DeLorean and this week I entered case to PayPal and the expedited fast the shipping to the extreme as it’s arriving in 2 days
This video was an accurate snapshot for the time it was made. I no longer but from them and will never buy from them again. I suggest you do the same. Hope you get sorted. 👍🏼
Exactly. i had about 30 figures from them 4 years ago. Noww for 2 years nthing. I think they just spent all the pre-order money and couldnt fulfill the orders and are now screwed. And now they have just turned ito scammers to try and milk the last bit of money before going out of business. I used Partialy to make payments over 13 months. I paid Partialy every month and they will not give y money back. I cant wait for TW to go bust. Then I can get my money back from Partialy.
Yea I've bought from them. Just ordered jl batman and superman when it dropped. Still haven't gotten it. Partly my fault for not going DHL, think it was hongkongpost and their tracking doesn't say anything other than preparing item. Sent email to tw and they sent me a screenshot of tracking and it was sent. Don't know what going on. Like I said should have done DHL, don't know what I was thinking.
You were thinking that the DHL was far too expensive I’d imagine and you would be 100% right. I would have done the same. I’ve used the slower tracking before that you are referring to. It’s cheaper, tracking isn’t as detailed and it’s slower but they get there in the end.
Interesting video, I didn't realize some things about TW and now I do so I thanks for your explanation of things. However I have had an issue with their CS group and I don't quite know how better to explain it to them. I also have accrued some points and wished to use them for a purchase, when i put down how many points I wanted to use, the "coupon amount" and "amount left" values are displayed in US dollars [where I imagine they are displayed in pounds for you?], but that doesn't really translate correctly when you go to apply that coupon code at checkout as it then reverts to HK dollars [despite my settings being set to USD], so of course then the amount discounted is much less. It's been very frustrating at times to the point I don't care to use them. Any thoughts?
I know EXACTLY what you mean. I’m in Ireland so their site detects that in euro. So I converted all my points to a voucher. The voucher said €550. The issue is that their site detects I’m in Europe and displays the € symbol HOWEVER….the actual value of my voucher is HK $550 which I’d actually about €75. Just a glitch in their site. I know that I didn’t deserve a €550 voucher…I don’t use them THAT much. €75 is accurate.
@@OneSixthFigureFocus still it would have been nice if it had been in USD seeing as how I’m looking over their site and looking at their prices in USD.
Thanks for the sharing! how is your experience with Sideshow? I am a new collector living in the EU and was thinking of ordering directly from them but not sure if price wise it makes sense. Just wondering if it makes sense to order directly from them or buy from EU re-sellers instead
Thanks for watching and giving me an idea for a video. Sideshow…I like there website (good but could be improved), good customer service, payment plan options but shipped to EU for standard 1/6th scale is getting closer to $50 and then you will be charged customs. There’s definitely better places to look for deals
Thanks for this video. I’m considering buying the Hot Toys Count Dooku figure from TW. Their listed price is around 315 euro. Is that a fair price? And I can’t see anywhere if they sell it new and sealed. What would your advice be? Subbed to your channel :-)
Do not do it. Toys Wonderland has been having a lot of shipping and communication problems lately. I am waiting for 4 items from them, 2 of those items showed that they have been in stock for 6 months and until now I am still waiting and they no longer answer my emails. It's a shame the way Toys Wonderland is treating its customers.
What’s the figure? EBay, Buy Sell Trade groups on Fb, maybe just put an ISO post on a collector Fb group, pop it in the chat on collector streams too. TW may have it but they usually have very high prices on older items and high shipping
Well told - I have yet to have a Negative experience with TW and they have some Crazy good sales lately- makes me question what the mark up is on these things 🤔
They sell their Day 1/First batch at very expensive inflated prices. That’s where they make their money. The sales they have are to clear stocks (maybe they have limited space in their warehouse if they have one), to get a quick cash injection and to at least get some money back instead of having them sit their. Plus it’s “Shock factor” advertising fit their company as the prices are that cheap. I use them in certain situations and have got items significantly cheaper.
Hi Tom. Thanks for watching. My first few orders with TW I was never charged import tax. That’s going back a few years now but for all orders with them over the last 2 years I’ve had to pay import tax with the exception of 1. Other HK resellers I’ve used and not got stung for import tax: LION ROCK TOYS.
My first two 1/6th scale figures that I purchased were from Toys Wonderland. I most likely won’t buy from them again unless they have something I’m dying to get.
Great vid. I can attest to the costumer service with TW. Its definately not Sideshow quality but they do get back to you within a day or two. Their english (in my experience) is not that greatest, but its not a US based company. However the re-sending of e-mails I have done to get my point accross. Overall I have had no serious issues with them. I did received a HT Coulson that the batteries were so old it corroded the battery compartment. I should of disputed it but I let it go. Thats on me. Otherwise...not bad at all. I try to catch them and Comic Santorum when they do their 15% sales. Been a little while since they had one. But the bashing of some youtubers for TW to me is somethings a bit unwarranted. Have a good one.
I’ve been collecting 1/6 scale for just over a year now and spent over £4,000 with toys wonderland & their back up site comicsanctorum & I can honestly agree 100% with everything in this video. Personally I’ve never had an issue with them hence why I’ve only been ordering with them for the time being. Yes the customer service can be a little awkward but as you mentioned it’s a time zone thing which can’t be helped. Also I feel it could be a language barrier thing? Totally agree it’s effortless sending simple emails so people should really get over that especially if their problem gets resolved. But overall yeah great prices fast shipping & never had a problem with them 15 months on.
Sounds about right. They aren’t perfect. They make plenty of mistakes but I’ve yet to order a figure from them and not receive it. 14 in. Thanks for watching.
Also just to add I’ve noticed they’ve added another shipping option which is way way cheaper then the others but i think it’s by sea and can take up to 30-60 WORKING days to receive. Great video will definitely be watching more of your content.
Hi, i need some help, i needed a good reliable place to buy peter b parker sentinel sv action figure and mafex medicom spiderman classic suit version action figure. What place would u recommend to buy from that is a reliable and a good price. Thanks, im from the uk btw.
Hi Joe. I wouldn’t “trust” any company really. I have outlined MY experience with the company in the video. Some were good. Some bad. It’s your choice if you want to order from them.
I’m trying to buy threezero fallout t-60 figure, it’s an old release and I couldn't find it anywhere and it appears that they have it right now in stock, I’m in the Middle East and one of the shipping options appears in the checkout is (HK post) it’s the only one with reasonable price, I tried to contact them but no response, do you recommend go for it?
@@OneSixthFigureFocus I’ve heard from several people they filed PayPal claims because they where not getting their refunds as TW promised. I was one of them. Only after I filed my complaint via PayPal they refunded me. But that took 10 weeks. And that happened to me twice with TW. That is probably why they stopped using PayPal. I find them to be are a horrible company that is ruining the market when it comes to Hot Toys.
@@RobsterProducties Hi Rob. Firstly thank you for watching and commenting. Sorry that happened to you. It’s simply not good enough. Glad you got for money back in the end. I personally haven’t had a bad experience with them (bar the one I outlined in this video) but I must just have the luck of the Irish. ☘️ Sadly others have had bad experiences. Your first hand experience gives a valuable insight into what people may experience. However I will continue to buy from them (occasionally) until I am dissatisfied.
Im a 🇳🇱 collector and i have only buy a phicen male body from TW for €75,- +free shipping but in the end i must pay another +75,- import cost and i have waited 9 months before i have it in my house so screw TW 👎never again🤬
That’s a long wait. Not good enough. However, the Dutch government decide the import taxes, not TW. Same as in Ireland. Our import tax rate is Approx 30%. Things must be diffeeent in the Netherlands?
@@OneSixthFigureFocus a wee bit of a spelling mishap - fixed - “chaos” so not that they intended for things to problematic but there was a bit more hassle
I just ordered my first hot toys figure from them, from England mate, ordered via HK Post- Vantage (Courier) do you think i'll be hit with an import charge?
@@OneSixthFigureFocus Ah sound, see what happens, expensive hobby so be nice if I don't get hit. Use Giantoy for a couple 3rd party high end figures and they are great but still finding best place for Hot Toys. Been watching a few your videos today fella, boss channel got a sub from me
Yea I ordered my first item from them in October 2022. As of January 2023 nearing February I have yet to receive the item. I did choose the slower Hongkong post (to USA) to save $ but I never expected it to take this long. Their tracking is not good and ends once it leaves HKpost. TW customer service answer was that it could take up to 160 days. This is pushing the limits of refund through most financial providers so I could potentially be SOL if it doesn’t show up. Not a good first interaction with them that’s for sure seems like Sideshow will be my goto.
@@CatNact bro did you receive your figure yet? I just bought one hot toys figure from them as well on 26th Jan and selected DHL service but till now DHL never receive the item from them yet and this is getting irritating
Thanks for watching and commenting. Interesting. I’ve never encountered that problem but I was informed about it a few days ago. Thanks for the information
I think so. I’m based in Ireland not canada but I do believe Canadians pay duty fees if ordering from TW. I would consult someone living in canada who has used them before.
I can't STAND Toys Wonderland/Comic Sanctorum and their sniveling "pitchman"!!! The youtube video "Caution Toys wonderland" explains the whole experience! Waiting months after they send you a false hope tracking number, in the meantime other distributors are selling out the same item you were waiting months to receive!!!
Thanks for watching and commenting. They are slow and often frustrating but I’ve bought 12 figures from them without issue at very competitive prices. I use them in certain situations as outlined in video and will continue to do so until I’m not satisfied. I’ve seen all the videos but that hasn’t been my experience. I base my future decisions with retailers off my own past experiences.
It’s better to reconsider ordering with them. Even when you pay for DHL for quick delivery the problem is you will received a tracking number which doesn’t move for days or even weeks. DHL themselves are very good but TW seem slow to actually get the items to DHL in the first place.
Hello , my name is Moka, me i can ask for an advice from you? i have being looking per a Spider Gwen Hot toys figure everywere, but i still dont find yet the best option to get it at best price, can you help me with it? it will be my 1st hottoy figure D: and i dont wanna mess up with it, im on Mexico Hope you can help me D:
Hey could someone help? I’ve been looking for a sentinel miles morales figure for months and since they’re releasing their new batch idk where to get one from a reliable source, anyone got good shops to get one from?
I’ve also had figures that have been released that I’ve ordered from them, they’ll provide a tracking number and then… nothing. And a month or so later it randomly ships.
@@Brickmotionstudios07 I would not recommend. At the time of this video I would not have recommended but I was willing to take the risk. Now I still wouldn’t recommend and I’m no longer willing to take the risk.
Meanwhile they never got stock of my pre orders then said I wasn't allowed a refund and finally tried to make me pay $400+ on a single 1/6 scale which is double the price of the figure. As it currently stands they've taken £500 of me and have no sign of them helping me in anyway. I'm sure some people go never having an issue but I they will have no issue leaving you high and dry hundreds of $ out of pocket.
@@OneSixthFigureFocus I'm in the process of dealing with whole situation but like you said communication with them is slow. Also because it was a pre order and I paid so long ago using a payment plan most of the money seems to be gone as the time frame for chargeback has passed.
I’ve used them multiple times. Saved a lot of money. 14 figures from them. Yet to order a figure from them and it not arrived. Saved money despite their silly costs. But I will NEVER recommend them or review/promote them for reasons mentioned in this video and more up to date events outlined in this video if you’re interested to know more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-86pKwVYM6OM.html
@@OneSixthFigureFocus If people want to use them Its fine I'm just saying that the shady things you hear do happen. chances are if your ordering highly accessible item it will come but if you want a popular limited release figure Id go with literally any other retailer/ reseller before TW.
Why didn’t you pre order it off sideshow? Or was it cheaper on toy wonderland at the time so you decided to go this route. Personally I wouldn’t pre order an item off of a 2nd hand website if they’re not the ones producing the figure since they might not get it
Unfortunately I have had less than ideal experiences with them since this video. I no longer order/buy from them. I hope your good luck with them lasts.
@@OneSixthFigureFocus It's too late now. I have a bunch of preorders already b/c of Justin. I just have to go with it and bite the bullet or I would lose a helluva lot of NRD's.
