I would agree with your thoughts that there should be the highest prize money for world championship 🏆. That's when it makes all sense to the player, federation and country. My predictions after looking at the draw will be MS - Victor/ Shrikanth WS - An / Yamaguchi MD - Aaron-Soh / Satwik-Chirag WD - Matsumoto-Nagahara / Baek-Lee XD - Zheng-Huang / Yuta-Arisa

Personal predictions: MS - Viktor Axelsen WS - An Se Young MD - Kang Min Hyuk & Seo Sung Jae WD - Chen Qing Chen & Jia Yi Fan XD - Yuta Watanabe & Arisa Higashino
Looking back at my predictions before the start of the World Championships, I can say that my predictions were kinda accurate after correctly predicting WS, MD, and WD winners. Especially, predicting Kang Min Hyuk and Seo Seung Jae to win MD was a wild prediction
MS - Viktor by far the favorite. WS - anyone of the big 4 right now. MD - the most open field so no clear favorite pairs as there are so many great pairs. XD - Zheng Huang / Yuta Arisa are top 2 favourites imo based on current form . WD - Chen jia / Kim Kong / Baek Lee
@ruhitalam-ce3wr their chances are not that bad tho cus they reached the finals of the last 2 tournaments they played and at their best they are difficult to defeat by anyone

Anders has a very good point about the prize money or rather lack thereof. Hopefully, at some point, people will speak up (publicly) about the odd priorities of BWF.

Anders , if you win gold in WBC then government of India (along with other institutions) will pay you 1/2 million dollar and dozen of brand will sponsor you 😂😂 . Disclaimer : Sindhu is only Indian player to win gold in WBC.
Absolutely crazy the Badminton World Championships do not carry prize money. Absolutely insane Badminton players are not rewarded at par as other racket sports. The most viewed sports played by probably most people in the world, by numbers. Also fastest and technical skilled. Come on badminton federations and associations. Time to revolutionise! 🙏🏻
Let's predict the winners boring mode: Victor Axelsen, Chen/Jia, An Se Young and Zheng/Huang. MD is the hardest, Shetty/Rankireddy were the best pair the last couple months but I could see them losing because of nervousness. Let's go with the dark horses Lee/Wang if Wang's Shoulder holds up. Rather surprising that while previewing chances in men’s singles, you’ve not dwelt on the chances of Prannoy who has given Axelson, undoubtedly the hottest player, a run for his money. While you talked about Christo’s prospects with Viktor, I do believe that Viktor’s toughest match will be against Prannoy. U guys had committed a similar faux pas in ur preview of Thomas Cup tournament also by completely glossing over India’s chances despite having 3 solid singles & 1 champion doubles team in their ranks. India wasn’t even mentioned in passing. Hope, therefore, Prannoy, Lakshya & Chirag-Satwik will force you to make favourable post-tournament comments about them. Actually, excepting for Viktor, An Se Young & Zheng-Huang who presently are way above the others in their respective categories, it’s a toss-up among the others. I’m obviously looking forward to the performance of Prannoy, Lakshya & Chirag-Satwik being an excited Indian badminton fan myself. But since we didn’t go through everything it makes sense to me we talked about Christo-Viktor since that matchup is very likely to happen. Both Viktor and Prannoy could be in all sorts of trouble before they potentially face each other. But no doubt Prannoy is one of the MS going into this championship in the best form. But he was not lucky with the draw going against Axelsen, who he still loses to more often than he wins. We do mention Satwik/Chirag as probably the biggest favourite in MD, so I don’t think we are really ignoring India’s chances in this episode. We even talk about Lakshyas potential matchup against Kunlavut too 😊 But we can’t cover every angle and btw I personally think Srikanth can’t be ignored as a potential podium candidate - especially now that Ginting unfortunately is out! But I promise we will say more good stuff about (some of) your heroes if they perform well next week 😁
There should absolutely be prize money at the World Championships. The fact that there isn't is like a scam, and if the federation wants the sport to rival other global sporting events, it should pay out. It's a huge event ("the most prestigious," as they say), fans are excited, athletes play hard, and it is $pon$ored, so it's disingenuous to simply say that the status from being able to play and win is enough. Players should get compensated and winners should win money, period.

Hello. Why during the world champs, you can not have your personal coach on the chair. Very strange rule because that's the most important tournament. World champs is an individual tournament and you can not have your coach. I know that's some countries change this rule but not Denmark.
i think no price money for events like world championship and olympics has been a issue for quite a long time in sports like basketball and football (especially in olympics) because the top players where the sports are famous would just decline the national team call because they get more benefit from playing in the league than representing their country

Doubles team split for sure. All the other questions differ from country to country. In Denmark the federation doesn’t get a cut (as we fund a lot of our expenses on our own), but we pay normal income tax on all prize money, so somewhere between 40 and 50% tax depending on how much we earn generally.
Prannoy of India has indeed beaten both Wardoyo & Loh Kean, one with ease & the other, a scrape, but a win nonetheless. And Viktor mauled Christo Popov who played like a novice. I was fully confident of this matchup between Prannoy & Viktor given the way both have been playing in the last 1year. In fact, I feel that except for Viktor, Prannoy would’ve given any other player a run for his money. Viktor, unfortunately is presently head & shoulders above every other player in the world & everyone will like to avoid him. Hence, I believe that none will like to meet him before the final & Prannoy is no exception. They’re meeting in the QF after all. And btw you seem to have hit top form & with Ginting not playing, you’ve good chances of making the finals. Lee See Jia can trouble you. All the best!!

Is there a prize money when you win Olympics? Actually the value is in the gold medal and good for your name..some kind of goodwill...which is good to gain for applying for sponsorships. Those are the intangible assets. I am a world champion sounds good right? Even LCW did not win a gold medal in World champion and that was his greatest regret as the world no 1 player. So play hard. Do well and focus to get that gold medal. It is precious once in a life time achievement and will be in your portfolio as a legend. Don't think too much it being no prize money.
But the federation makes a lot of money from sponsors and airtime. So isn't it unfair to the players to not get a penny from it when you've got to pay for travel, food, hotels, etc.? And players are the reason they're making all this money in the first place. Imagine Wimbledon not paying any money to the players.
