Thanks mate. Yes, this is a Nord Electro 2 73. The little silver box is a Multi FX unit made by Behringer. I'm using it for a little reverb on the Rhodes.

Thanks mate. I personally like the electro. I haven't used the rack, but it's basically the same as the kb version, minus the kb. Just make sure the controller you're planning to use with it has decent velocity settings.

Hey man, well, being a jazz tune, there are 'guideline' chord changes for the tune (have a look at a jazz lead sheet or real/fakebook for example). I'm basically taking those chords and adding/extending/substituting chords along the way.

My thoughts too - portability is what favours this over a rack and 88 key controller

Your playing is amazing, i come back to it every year again;) I am currently trying to improve a little in jazz again for one time, since i am stuck pretty much in the last time, not achieving fluent and interesting solos. Could you break down a little what techniques are used throught the chorus and also the improvisiation? E.g. what techniques I should focus on learning? What kind of voicings for the left hand should i learn for this style? It sounds to me, as you play more modal, if so which modes? Or do you play also much pentatonic? Which? Other stuff? Would be awesome!

I think it's a very durable instrument. Just be careful of the real-wood endcaps, but it's all very solid. Get the soft case for it and you're set!

I love your feel soloing, i gotta ask man what is the move you do at 4mins 11 i've heard people do it and i jus cant seem to figure it out.

Excellent work! I'm looking into buying an Electro myself. Is that the 73 key version? I've had a few concerns that it's not big enough. I don't want the Stage 88 because of the price and the hammerweights on the organ and the synth apparently isn't that great. As an improviser, have you ever found only 73 keys to be an issue?

Only when I'm attempting those Oscar Peterson-ish double octave runs! But in all honesty, most of the time it's not an issue. The portability more than makes up for it.

how did you get it to sound like an old rhodes? is that just the recording with the slight distortion or are you using effects. I hear a little delay maybe some overdrive?

Mike, I feel like stunnedf by a horse and want to stop piano playing for ever.How come we´ve never heard of you over here in Germany.They should print full-size posters of YOU instead of all those other mediocre guys. Your canta Island version is my special favourite. I´ve seen Herbie improvising solo on the Leno show. He is not better. How can you make that digital thing sound so natural? Please, give us more of your art here on youtube. (Afraid this sounds too exaggerated to everybody else)

It's a good practice tool if you can't play with other musicians often.
