This is a conversation that happened after a priesthood meeting a few months ago when I was bold enough to stand up for the truths taught in the Family Proclamation. I literally was not even able to get through the door into the foyer when another brother hostilely confronted me with these questions. D: So you think there are only two genders? Me: Yes D, there are only two genders, but mankind has an infinite capacity in how they choose to express their sexuality. D: What about gays, do they have a choice? Me: Yes, we all have a choice. I can refer you to multiple stories online where people with same sex attraction chose to be married to someone of the opposite sex and live wonderful, happy lives as parents and grandparents. D: But are they being authentic? Me: they are choosing to keep appetites desires and passions within the bounds the Lord has set. D: Well, I know where you stand - he walks away with purposely demonstrated disgust and agitation. Me: Absolutely shocked that this just happened at priesthood meeting realizing that we’d better confront this with truth and determination. The truth is that mankind can express their sexuality in infinite ways-even with dolls, siblings, animals, and little children of both sexes. God gave us commandments on sex/gender and if we do not keep those commandments and enshrine them vigorously in our social construct, our society will decend into horrific degeneracy and destruction.

With BYU being a private church school, isn’t it beholden to the direction of the prophet and apostles ? I don’t understand why there isn’t a complete audit of curriculum and personal interviews with these professors who are obviously deceived and perpetuating deception upon our youth. To think that the church of the devil is teaching its theology on the campus of BYU is inconceivable to me. This needs to nipped in the bud right now. I had two ladies come up to my door (in SL county) last Sunday and give a missionary into. They referred to themselves as “students” of the “Mother Goddess”. They asked if I believe in Heavenly Mother. I said yes, and then they started in with “Well, the prophecies show that she will shortly return to Earth.” And that’s when I said, “Oh this is not what I believe. Good day.” And I closed the door. You could feel the presence of Satan there with them. It was nothing short of what Jeremiah described when he told Israel to stop worshipping Ashteroth, the Queen of Heaven. They are trying to get members of the Church into their blasphemous, Satanic cult.

Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.” Gender is not adopted by an individual. It is part of our eternal identity and purpose. To me, we've already been given the answers on this subject from present day prophets and apostles, and from the scriptures. This is where the importance of being spiritually grounded is coming in. I am enrolled in Marriage and Family studies at BYUI. I recently read through the "code of Ethics" for Family Life Educators. This comes from a national certification. One of the first considerations stated "social justice". I sent an email to ask how they define this. I just want to know without following along blindly. Haven't heard back. One other thing. We are often told (online students) that the instructors do Not make up the curriculum. So that means it comes from department heads and other educators. I remember going through the lesson you described. But it was presented as something that is going on out in the world and not something we (the church) teach. Much like learning about different cultures to have a better understanding and appreciation for the people around us or that we'll be dealing with. This can be worrisome if we don't heed the prophets. I love being a woman - though being single often forces me into doing masculine responsibilities. But that doesn't define me. God defines me.

"Toward the end of his life, Foucault put his sexuality first. His politics followed from his sexuality. Foucault made a Faustian bargain with Wall Street and the San Francisco techies. Since homosexuality and sexual liberality required wealth, urbanization, and technologization, Foucault abandoned the vestiges of his tepid anti-capitalism and embraced capitalism whole-heartedly. The true revolution was never going to be proletarian. It was going to be sexual. When we look at the Left today we see this reality. The Left has all but abandoned traditional working-class economic politics. It has immersed itself in sexual politics and sexual liberality instead."

The left always uses the hot topic, emotionally charged button, of sex. It is personal, important, desired, etc, to everyone, and they use the topic every way they can to gain the attention of people. They make Christians feel dirty, immature, passe, intolerant, shameful, culturally out of touch and judgmental for wanting to keep it special and as the Lord intended. The highest form of intolerance to the left is sexual intolerance. The left always makes it about private parts, and how people use them. And tons of people fall for it.

I don't know how good parents make through this evilness every day. The rapture of course is supposed to rescue all the righteous, yet we plainly see that the elect are the reason the time is shortened. What about the rapture? It is a false doctrine as the world religions teach it. 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before.

A man is meant to give the most sacred part of his body and self while the woman is meant to receive the man in her most sacred “garden of life”. This giving and receiving can obviously be applied to both men and women in other ways (spiritually, emotionally, etc) but I find it significant that that’s the way God primarily designed us: Men as “Givers” and Women as “Receivers”.

Make no mistake, this is a RELIGION that is being taught. Our young adults are being taught the doctrine of the great and abominable church in our church funded universities. THIS is part of what president Nelson was referring to when he said, "In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost" and when he instructed us in the last GC, "I plead with you now-to take charge of your own testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel. Work for it. Nurture it so that it will grow. Feed it truth. Don’t pollute it with false philosophies of unbelieving men and women." It's not just knocking at our doors. This evil has infiltrated our places of worship (yes, our wards and stakes) our schools, and our homes. When truth is not taught, the Spirit leaves and a vacuum is created, and it WILL be filled with the philosophies of men. It's time to board the ark and stay within a vessel that will seal out these pernicious doctrines of Satan and get us safely through the storm. Stay on the good ship, Zion! The Lord's Doctrines and eternal truths are found in the scriptures, both ancient and modern day. But, specific instructions for our day can be found in the words of living prophets. Students, teachers, and parents are being beyond hypocritical. Have integrity and go to another school. Don't lie to bishops and church leaders about living byu codes and standards if you never intended to live them. And don't lie to your parents letting them think you're somebody you're not. I occasionally teach Latin as an adjunct professor of Humanities at another one of the CES colleges. A few months ago, I was at BYU for a conference and I thought I would go visit one of my former Latin professors who still teaches there. I wanted to tell him that I was teaching Latin, in part, thanks to him. Sadly, he wasn't in his office that day and as I walked away from his office door I noted that the professor in the office next door had a rainbow triangle beside the door advertising that his or her door was a 'gay safe space.' I don't know exactly what that meant but I was angered that such a thing had infected the Classics faculty at BYU. Usually, when I make a donation to BYU, I stipulate that the money should go to Classics. However, having seen such evidence of "wokeness" in that department I will not be making a donation to it this year. Eheu!

I know you get a numerous comments so I don't even know if you will actually read this but I wanted to share a few thoughts that I have been having lately about the state of the church. The one comment that has stayed with me from President Nelson I think from last April was his warning that In coming days it will be impossible to survive spiritually without the constant, guiding and sustaining influence of the Holy Ghost." That may not be the axact quite but it is close enough. That has weighed heavily on my heart since he said it. It has caused me to ask myself if I am prepared myself to survive. How can I stay true to my testimony of the church and keep my heart focused on the Savior when lately they seem to be at odds with each other. I must always come down on the side of my faith in Jesus Christ. But I don't want to believe that our prophets, seers, and revelators, could be wrong. Yet, I think they were mistaken to encourage us to accept the poke in the arm. And now I see them caving to political pressure in regards to same sex marriage. If we as a people truly believe in the Plan of Salvation we can not support this lifestyle. It is completely incompatible with the Lord's plan. And then I hear what is happening at BYU and I wonder why the brethren don't intervene. It seems that earlier prophets spoke out in very direct terms when calling out sin. Now the language coming from Salt Lake is much less poignant and softer in tone. I prefer black and white from our leaders. I don't like toleration. Let's call sin what it is and then preach repentance through Jesus Christ. I know some members of the church whom I thought would never doubt who are now leaving the church. Is it possible to sustain the prophet but question his motives? Do we put our full faith and trust in the GAs who we sustain as men of God but who are also subject to human error? How do we as a people survive spiritually in the face of these contradictory messages? It is my personal belief that our leaders are walking a razor's edge while guiding the church through these shifting values and social pressures. They have to find a way to be a part of the world and obey the law without compromising our own doctrines. Are they trying to keep the temples open? Are they trying to save the tax exemptions afforded to religious organizations? Would they be willing to close the doors of the temples if the govt tried to force same sex marriage? I have to hope that they know some things that I don't know because right now the work of surviving spiritually is hard.

So there is value in educating students as to what is going on in the world. This fosters critical thinking, that when blended with agency and the Spirit, makes for wise decision making. However, professors cross the line with they are actually ADVOCATING incorrect principles/practices and trends while pretending to simply educate. A wolf in sheeps clothing.

These professors are asking the students to throw their common sense out the window. I was raised in a different faith. I was taught the trinity- one person, not Father, Son and Holy Ghost - they were yet they weren't. Senseless. I was chastised when I asked questions on how that could be- it didn't make sense. I found the truth in the gospel. Truth and common sense. My youngest grandson, 3, wants to play with cars, trucks and dinosaurs. That's it! His sister, 7, is into anything with sparkling unicorns! They have equal access to all the toys their aunts and uncles played with. They choose what they prefer. They both love constructing with magnet sets but she loves colorful designs and he loves building then smashing things. She is strong and athletic but still gravitates to pink, purple and of course, sparkle. Boys will be boys and girls will be girls. Common sense. These professors are confused and their students are confused because they are going against nature - they are too worried about being "current" and popular then following their common sense. Some topics are not pleasant to face at all, let alone to engage in debate on those topics. But to some degree, the falsehoods we face in our society today are the children of falsehoods we didn't face yesterday. As a Church we are to be a light, which means that we must know how to dispel the darkness. That might mean engaging in conversation, and that might mean having an unheated debate. You can make progress with people, even if you don't "win" the debate. Some people only believe the one side of a debate, because they never heard someone speak who believed the other side of that debate. I'm not endorsing how or what this particular instructor is teaching, as referenced in this video, but if falsehood is being taught all around us, we should know something about what is being taught, and know how to clarify it.

This is really a great thought-provoking podcast. I would suggest that there is a cause to the effect that we are seeing with the current social trend that extends back in time. I would suggest that it is not a recent organic agenda; rather an ancient thread of the ancient mystery religions of the past. that has been the underpinning of societies of which most are unaware. In the ancient pagan and gnostic Christian religions of yesteryear, there was the concept of the "sacred marriage." This all had to do with the bride representing the incarnate self or eidolon and the Osiris-Dionysus representing the disincarnate Self or Daemon. The sacred marriage ritually united these two opposing parts of initiate which was performed in a bridal chamber and performed in a mystic rite accompanied by certain words used to the initiated and they allege that it is a spiritual marriage of the "characteristics" of the divine masculine and the divine feminine and not the "gender" of the two as you so adeptly point out. At the end of the day this has to do with the lower-level man becoming the higher-level man. In the words of the Gnostic Gospel of Philip the true Gnostic is, "no longer a Christian, but a Christ." In other words, man learning that he is a fragment of God and then seeing himself as part of the whole or a god himself. So, I am suggesting that this social engineering that we are witnessing has religious underpinnings that go back thousands of years and have syllogistic chains of reasoning that tie back the minds of men and women to the contained mythos that is more symbolic than literal, yet manifests as a purdy confusion with regards to what you term natural law, if I am understanding your application of that term. Let me finish with a quote from the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas in which Jesus teaches his disciple, "When you make the two one, and when you make the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male be not male nor the female female then will you enter the kingdom." I hope this lends something to your discussion of value.

I actually think it is important for us to teach about these philosophies so that our children can spot it when people try to mingle these philosophies of men with scripture. It is a useful exercise to compare and contrast worldly philosophies with the doctrines of the gospel. For example, the world uses the phrase "gender/sex assigned at birth." In contrast, the gospel teaches, "Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.” From comparing these two truth claims, we can see immediately that gender/sex is not assigned at birth, but is actually eternal; we had our gender/sex in the premortal world. We can also infer that the differences in the capabilities of the physical sexes are actually blessings that God has given us to help us accomplish our eternal purpose while in this mortal circumstance. So, maybe we could say that God assigns physical sex at birth based on our eternal gender so that we have the physical tools required to accomplish our foreordained assignments in mortality.

Coincidentally I was doing some family history work this evening and gleaning through some old census records. It would sure make things interesting if the census records did not list man woman or male/female (sometimes they would record "at home" for the woman, how sexist), But instead just said "person" not very helpful. I expect that soon it will be illegal to indicate male/female on census records.

However, I have been so touched by faithful members who live in places that are not flooded with members of The Church. They are so happy knowing the gospel plan and stand true to what they believe. Them seem more humble and appreciative of what they have. Sometimes I think those of us living in areas with many members of The Church take for granted what we have.

The lack of gospel contrast is disgusting and also sad to me. I was a student 25 yrs ago. For the most part my professors always brought gospel context into the lessons, which was refreshing, having transferred to BYU from a public/state college. I am concerned most about how this teacher disrespected the doctrine of our church, what about the First Article of Faith, "We believe in God the FATHER, and in his SON Jesus Christ ...." -- how can you dispute this?? I can't say I would hope that this teacher's bishop would sit down with her after the "genderless Jesus" stunt and talk about her testimony, but I know better. Friends that live in Provo, in the wards where these professors also live have told me it's complete philosophies of men, with litter to no scripture, they belittle and bully those with testimonies into silence. I wish the university administration would tighten up on stuff like this.

God is finally sifting us out. This is just one more sign of the times. We are coming up on the very last days. We must carefully seek to convert as many tares into wheat as we can while staying in the fold.

It is easier, I think, to reconstruct Jesus into an endogenous person if you throw away his marriage. As the statement goes, Jesus obeyed all the commandments including the one given to Adam and Eve to multiply and replenish the earth. I firmly believe he was married and even had children. Look at his love and compassion for children. For the most part, a person's love and compassion for children does not come until you have children of your own. He grew from grace to grace through his experiences, but because of his firm connection to his father and the spirit, he had no sin because he always chose the right and his father's will.

I think it is extreme arrogance (as well as ignorance) that keeps us from realizing just how vast and eternal the binary of male and female is. Post Modernism and Critical theory would have us believe that having a binary is restrictive and oppressive. In reality, having a “spectrum” of gender and sex IS restrictive. Now you’ve made everyone a “Gingerbread person” and lost the eternal scope and depth of what it means to be a man or a woman.

I'm not seeing it. He was born, she knew he was a boy. He was condemned to death by the sanhedren for the blasphemy of claiming he was the son of God. There's no evidence there wad gender confusion in that day either. Keep in mind it's not our idea to prove these people wrong. It's their job to rationalize their position.

As an alumnus of BYU, I'm very disappointed. BYU was at one time considered the most conservative university in the nation. And my experience was that it was very much in-line with the teachings of the church. Probably the best years of my life were as a student at BYU. There were some minor things, and we often had to remind ourselves "BYU is not the church" when there were little discrepancies, but nothing noteworthy. I can understand giving the snake a podium in an academic setting if the alternate point of view is also represented. In fact, I would expect no less. But this is giving the snake a platform and presenting it as the only truth, and one that is not in-line with the principles of the church that supports it financially with tithing paid by traditional families who send their children there for a spiritually-based education. If even BYU has become corrupted, is there a God-fearing center for education left?

Here's a MASSIVE issue with the gingerbread man. Presenting it as a continuum infers that anything on that line is normal. That's likely only true with gender expression (depending on how you define it - I happen to be a pretty emotional man and some would say that makes me feminine). Biological sex is 99% at the very edges of male and female. True intersex (where there is some doubt as to which is the dominant sex) is extremely rare (I think I recently saw 16 in 10,000). And sexual orientation is the same. 7.1% now identify as LGB, but that means 92.9% don't.
