At first I initially questioned (as John Piper addressed at the beginning of the video) why an entire Desiring God conference would be devoted to a human being, I watched some of the other videos before coming back to this. I've seen how his life has affected so many, and how he was so drawn to Christ. I haven't read Lewis, but now I'm almost compelled to.

How blessed am I, a simple human being who never entered Oxford or Cambridge to be able to receive lecturers on the gifts that C.S Lewis gave in his lectures so readily. The gift for modern man is in being able to listen to full lectures that had been imported into academia by such an intellectual giant that could be understood by a simple man like me & doubly so when presented with such passion as the above lecturer. In my youth I never stopped believing in God but I felt sure that we created our god in our own minds and yet never recognized the joy of that belief is that our god is so forgiving that I can escape the wages of sin. How beautiful is it that by the Grace of God, I found that the Author of Science & life could forgive me through His Son ,Jesus Christ. Lewis was a gift that helped pull me away from the god of secularism found in most of our Churches & obvious goals of the tin gods we create in politics.

What a marvelous explanation of Lewis's genius. Also, thank you John Piper for having the maturity to give credit where credit is due, in spite of having doctrinal differences with him. It's that kind of spiritual awareness and objectivity that continues to inspire me to listen to more of your talks.

If you like this read Alister McGraths’s biography on Lewis it is absolutely amazing. Investigates his life and thought and shows how they are connected

28:04. "dao". Calvinist Piper does not mechanically demonize other philosophical traditions.

He's quoting Lewis and simply trying to clarify for his hearers.

C.S. Lewis rejected the inerrancy of the bible.

Lewis was an heretic. He taught a different gospel and this is firmly condemned by the Apostle Paul in Galatians 1:8-9. False teacher to the core.

Can you explain what gospel Lewis taught? Because that is a big claim. I understand Paul says anyone that teaches a different gospel is accursed. But then you must show Lewis’s false gospel. So please show me, I don’t want to follow a false gospel
