yea some corvette purist think you should leave them stock.I think that is about crazy as hell.Have a 04 spiral grey black knockoff wheels of the 5 spoke grand sport wheels "factory 12" are two wide".Lowered, spoiler, side skirt and front splitter. You do you man don't worry about others.I know I get alot of people that just love they way my car looks. So screw the haters because they are few.
I have a zo6 and love it. I was about to get the base just because of the targa top tho. Ima do what I want to do to my cars because I’m into pleasing me not others. Nice ride bruh
I got the base because they look better in my opinion and the targa top was a must. Yes the zo6 is faster, but their is always something faster. Get what appeals to you.
I already bought the rims so that's the only reason why I'm putting on there. But I do agree that 20's would be better, so let me ask you this since I have 22's I'm thinking of going 225/30/22 in the front and back 255/30/22 instead of 295/25/22 that will help a little downsizing the tire because of the big rim right?
Looks wise, base model.looks best. The rear glass on the Z is a big deal breaker. As for the performance, it's not hard to match a stock Z with the money you save. As for the mods you did, it's all you bro. So long as you like it, that's all.
When I bought my first 6 speed C5 in Y2K it was a brand new leftover ‘99. The Z06 wasn’t even available yet. I put a 228R cam, ported WCCH #241 stage 2 heads, and 4.10 diff in it in 2003. My buddy purchased a 2001 Z06 a year later and I blew his doors off every race we had. 3 years later another friend purchased an ‘03 Z06 and again my coupe smoked that one. For under $4k in mods at that time my C5 was hands down a faster car than the production Z06. I still have my first C5 23 years later and it’s fully forged, 232/236/113+2 cam, same WCCH stage 2 #241 heads and ECS Novi 1500. On a safe 93 octane tune the car makes 640/568 at the wheels on 10psi. All cars can be made to go fast. Even the “base C5” like mine. 😉
You couldn't afford a zo6 if truth be known,, zo6 with low miles cost 40k , z06 magnetic ride handles much better..but agree with you,, you do you make your car like you want it..I'm putting carbon fiber spoilers and splitters on my 4000 mile z06 , people saying I'm ruined it, my car I do what I want, next for me is procharger..but that's 10k.
Not sure why your trying to flex. There are currently 7 C5 Z06’s for sale on the first online dealer I looked at all for $22k to $31k with under 60k miles. Where are you shopping? And if “truth be known” the C5 Z06 NEVER came with magnetic ride. It only had the FE4 suspension option. So if you’re going to try to drop knowledge and be smug you should do your homework first.
@@hungbeachbum you believe you got a good deal and that's all that matters. Paying $40k for a 20yr old unmolested easy to source garage queen that was $50k brand new...to then modify is not money well spent. You overpaid for a car that was kept original to then start throwing mods on it. Your plan is to supercharge the car, so now you're going to put FI through a stock LS6 with 4k miles that you paid a premium for...only to find out that the right way to go forced induction includes beefing up the internals. Which becomes even more money wasted on your part because you bought a 4k mile car with inadequate pistons, springs, valves and lifters. Your car at 4k miles is probably still sitting on original GSD3's. Another waste of money as now you need 4 new sneakers because they've aged out. Your belts and hoses are likely in the same boat. So in summary, you overpaid for a car based on your intentions and just because you fell for it doesn't mean the chap in the video "can't afford a Z06". They are easy to source and most well under $30k today in great driving condition. So not like they bust the bank. That is until your goal is to actually go fast. Then that cost almost doubles to do it right.
