I just bought this and installed it in about 10 minutes. Pure genius and this works excellently. You should get a job at GM in QA or engineering. Thanks for the great work.
The majority of water on my C8 is coming from the passenger side. I found a little corrosion on the right side but not near the corrosion from water on the left or passenger side.
Thanks for this video! Trailered home my 2023 and just checked strut covers from the factory. Sure enough there was plenty of water in there! So to confirm, with this driver side diverter, you do not need anything for the passenger side.
Looks good, I have putting an order now. How about the rear struts? Water accumulates over the bolts holding the shocks and they rusts... I need something similar, 3D printed to go over and prevent water from getting there. Make 2 versions because the MRC wire may get in the way when you have that option.
Diverter looks promising. Can anyone confirm that with the Diverter installed I would not need the 2 other Strut Covers products it replaces? Thanks in advance.
So there is no water getting into the passenger side strut, even without the cover in place? In other words, no need for the strut covers if we get your diverter and install on the driver side?
Thanks for your interest I did a water test on my 2022C8 water runs down the windshield and onto cowl the cowl channels the water on the passenger side away from the strut and down the rear top corner of the front passenger side fender. Also when water runs down the cowl it runs down a large panel which channels water down to the windshield washer bottle on the driver side then onto the strut I believe you don’t need a cover on the passenger side.If you are unsure you can do the water test your self.
@@madeathome5129 Understood. So on your personal C8, do you just have the diverter installed only, or do you have the diverter installed along with the strut covers as well? I am interested in ordering the diverter from you, just want to know if I need the strut covers as well to prevent the water from getting into the strut towers. Thanks!
Just the Water Diverter . Thanks for the questions just an oversight on my part not video tapping the passenger side strut on my water test.I’m planning to do a water test video on my water diverter showing the passenger side and driver side struts.
@@madeathome5129 Order placed. I have bought some covers and my thought is I will keep covers too not because of water but just as you drive stuff (dirt / debris carried by wind, etc) gets all up in cars in odd places. My C8 is going to be a daily driver. Thanks for making this item!
@@madeathome5129 I would worry that the temp in teh frunk coud reach a temp that would casue PETG to deform. Is your printer able to print Nylon? If so, I would pay extra for that.
Hello James there’s nothing hot in the frunk. All I can tell you is we drove to Daytona to a car show about an 8hr drive there and back the car sat in the Fl.sun at approx 90 degrees and the research we did said no change up to 230 degrees and no significant deformity until approximately 300 degrees.
May I make a suggestion on this. Please send instructions that can be read, preferably in color. You ask that we don't follow these instruction, yet the instructions on the paper in the packaging cannot be used.
