You said to drain the sink, just let it go or hook it to the septic system. What septic system would that be? It has an outhouse. No septic. Which by the by doesn't seem a good idea so close to a creek either.
Assessing how to do a ‘passive’ water/septic system would be a first step. Harvesting rainwater (roof>gutters>tank leading to a 200G container) that wld then go thru a pillow-sized filter equals lots of drinking water. Diverting used sink and bath/shower water to outdoor crop/plant area equals food. Lastly, diverting urine & fecal matter can be done using a fully-contained, yet open tank using a combination of geography-specific earth, water, and plants that remove toxins then feed/cycle into a connected sister-tank that does the same, etc., eventually leading into plants, landscape, or other various site-geo-specific things.
Very nice. Now, this is what a cabin should look like, rustic. It belongs there. I would have decorated it differently. It needs a woman’s touch. All in all, the outside and inside walls and floor are all cabin. Love it!

This cabin is awesome for off the grid. Wish we had our bills paid off cause my wife and I love log cabins. With that strong stream, somebody could even try hydroelectric power. This is the perfect place. Thanks for posting this Brad

I bet you could get enough out of year round rentals to have it pay for itself. People pay $300/night for a big cabin, 300/weekend for a small cabin in Gatlinburg - why not here? The pictures and hiking trails sell it for me.
I have watched this video many times and just love this home...we have looked at kits and found one so similar to this ...that wood stove would run us out right? We are going to use gas fo stove and have looked into incinerator toilets ...since I garden what better thing to put on my tomatoes! Lol...me!
I really like your enthusiasm and salesmanship. I've owned a couple of cabins in my life, and that is a very basic hunting cabin. Its not really a live in type of cabin. When the rain hits that covered porch, you'll be lucky not to lose your hearing :-) I'm not sure what the cost of it is, but it shouldn't be more than $50k with about 3-4 acres. However, you say it has 42 acres, so I'd buy the acreage and give little to no value on that "house".

It could be a great investment for vacation spot. A lot could be done with 42 acres. I'm not capable of handling that level of work but I can't move there anyway. That sure is nice. Can't get 5 acres in TX for that price much less all those good details.

We closed on our cabin and are moving in :D Our kids are grown and moved out. We found a gem in town , when every other house looks the same. 1300 sqft perfect 2 bedroom , each has a garden tub and a stand up shower. We'll go in debt but you gotta live somewhere lol Our kids will take over in 2047 LMAO that's when our last payment is. but hey you only live once.
I like the land Ken, but electric and high speed internet is pretty much a necessity. Cabin is neat for visitors. Must have solar here....I think Brad is confused???

It has solar! That's what the box's were in the second floor. Panels probably in roof. Water is right there about a 100 yards from the cabin...Creek. Add barrels and gutters and you have rain water catch. For less than $200 you could add a small bathroom inside with a composting toilet. They do not drink when opened. Start a little garden and you have your own fertilizer.

kragseven that is just all garbage. You don’t cut all the trees down to burn firewood in the winter. You selective harvest. It’s good for the forest. It opens it up and lets more sun light in and the trees grow better! The animals love it. You obviously have have never lived in the bush.
No modern indoor restroom is a major deal breaker for such an otherwise grand cabin & property. Nobody likes yeast infections and composting toilets are just as filthy as outhouses. Installing a faucet/sink/shower/toilet would make this home sell like hotcakes. Otherwise it cannot compete with other cabins on the market.

I have family in Indiana and I want to be close enough to visit them easily with just a few hours drive. I like the seclusion of this property. the only thing I would do to it would be to put in a bathroom w/shower and upgrade the electric system. I thinking that with the creek being close to the cabin a hydro electric system would be great for dependable power. Other that that I want to keep it simple.
You'd have to pay to have it surveyed to find out. A well is about $10,000 to have installed. But you can put an electric pump in it to get water straight to cabin.

So by right, you can farm it, have animals, etc - you can also build a house or houses and live there. That is the simple answer, of course there are many little details, but those are the basics. Just a suggestion- plats and aerials with the plats should be shown at least on your web page, even if boundaries are not exact. Maybe it's just me ( and my dad is plain obsessed with plats and boundaries- he was a real estate appraiser and tax assessor for many years, and probably has aspergers lol- me too), but I see aerial plats when looking at lands for sale for most properties, when using landsofamerica.com site. I like seeing the shape of a property and the relation to the access road, water on the land, etc. Maybe it's just an autism thing, but I am sure a lot of people would like to see this. BTW this is a really cool looking property/cabin for 150k, but the cabin is seasonal as it's not insulated.
