This is an interesting topic to me. Isn’t the direction of the pull downwards, or maybe slightly diagonally towards you? The weight is moving up and down, regardless of the direction you’re pulling it in. I’m trying to understand this, but in my mind it makes sense that the system is probably pulling the bar mostly downwards (or downwards and slightly towards you). Did you make the cage fall towards you as you were working out?

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the ru-vid.comUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

Not sure about depth as many are bolted to floor or depends how many plates you have on for stability

I like it i bought a dumbell barbell and kettlebell modular weight set, works great with this and a mini cycle bike its a great cheap option for someone who wants to get into a workout routine on a limited schedule.

I’m now using a folding rack with integrated cable pulley in the studio ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H3MDLNGL8g4.html but still use this pulley pack for my home gym set up 👍

Yes it’s have lasted very well. I did eventually replace the cable as plastic coating wore away but that’s fairly normal with a lot of frequent use.

Just got one on amazon. Can't wait. I think skull crushers trigger my elbow tendinopathy bs, so tricep pulldowns are best for me; high reps, lower weight.

Attaching a low 2nd pulley allows for bicep curls and horizontal seated rows. I’ve not tried it yet but will look into it.

In the future, do you think you could do a demonstration on the parts to get the low-pulley thing happening, with this kit? Do they make some type of crossbar that can be mounted to the lower part of your rack? Thanks so much! And again thanks for your help earlier today! Lots of great advice.

I reckon a band peg would work for low pulley attachment. Not tried it yet. May do a RU-vid 60sec short on it when I do 👍

Great review I think the biggest flaw with mine was that the weight holder is very wide and the plate I own don’t fit so I attach the the plates manually using the chains. Swings alot to but it’s effective

Ye that would be a hassle, just buy a new plate pin that fits the diameter hold plates you have. Mine can swing a fair bit also but I just take extra time controlling the eccentric phase & solves the problem. Keep up the training 💪🏼

Do you have any tips on balance with these?bought a power rack a bunch of weights and home gym equipment and love the cable machine,but I've found balance to be more of an issue even with staggered stance flyes and its holding me back a fair bit,literally 😂 Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I do a high to low cross body fly as seen in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WQLQjCAQNZk.html if I’m struggling for balance I’ll wheel my incline bench over and hold onto the headrest with my free arm for support.

Ye you could attach any attachment that you could usually put on a cable machine. You may struggle a little with your body lifting up on a lay Pulldown but you can certainly do a slightly angled high to low row with no problem.

Had a quick check on USA Amazon & ye can’t find any handles with cables either. The first link in description is the pack I bought that comes with the rope & handles included but is a UK Amazon link (they may ship to USA). I have a client that uses Pilates reformer handles/cable if you can find some of them! Hope you get some

Any carabiner will work but you will probably have them included in order

Edit: I stand corrected. You do not need a second pulley to do a stand up curl. You can attach the pulley to the weights on the floor, and the end of the cable to the bar on top.

I think I’ve tried it as you described hut without the weight anchored to the ground I found it moved around too much making the exercise a bit. I may be misunderstanding your set up though.

You can do it single arm high to low fly but you need 2 to do a proper cable crossover style fly.

214cm from floor to bar on the rack in the video. For this I would use a 1.8-2.0metre cable. I put some Amazon links in bio to some sets with those dimensions. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yes it would fit on it but if you’re going to use it I recommend only using it with a securely fastened one screwed into a strong door frame. 👍

Yes it does. If you lower the weight with control and have a nice smooth eccentric phase it’s not a problem though.

Yes , you can do single arm Lat Pulldown or buy a lower bar and do conventional lat pull down. This set (linked in description) also comes with long handle attachments which are great for straight arm lat Pulldowns to really isolate them 👌

Yes you can do a high to low single arm fly but you would need two of them to do a cable crossover style fly.

You can actually reverse the cable so that the pulley is at the bottom...for bicep curls

It still needs to attach to something on the floor as far as I could tell. I had a go but thought the set up was a bit of a faff & I’m a sucker for convenience.

@@pierrewayer4241 it’s a DTX Fitness Rack from Amazon but I wouldn’t really recommend the rack. I’ve since replaced it with a more sturdy rack
