Blame Spencer I’m guessing the original in one ear music video on their vevo was made for the international audience and there was a UK one which showed them in a insane asylum in a panic room wearing gowns and I’m guessing this one they made because it was made in Bowling Green
I love this band's sound. I usually listen to harder stuff, y'know, reaching into the realms of metal and such... but a good more bluesy rock fix is something good for me. Cage the Elephant is good for that. They're very talented.
What happened to the original video? Love this song but feel like somethings missing without the original video. Still gonna listen cause I love the song but just feel like somethings missing.
One of my top ten favorite songs, it helps me with my social anxiety and self esteem. Cause whenever im feeling like people are judging me, this song makes me think " f**** em"
it's not necessarily in this song.. but ive heard it in 'aint no rest for the wicked' and also 'back against the wall'.... .. did anyone else hear those songs first and thought that this band was british?? or is it just me... like it sounded like the lead singer has an accent when he sings?
You know I bag on current music a lot, and say that 90% of it is crap but there are a few bands I really really like in rock music that are current. This is one of the few.
+NAPTOWN NUISANCE There will always be great music and there will always be shite music. There is no "current music" there is popular mainstream music (10% of it) then there is the rest of it.
agent staple It just sucks more now than it ever has. You used to not have to look hard for great music , it used to be everywhere. Now you have to look for it.
i just love this band so much. they just kinda are perfect, you know? god, you don't know how many times people have called me antisocial or anarchist. when i heard those lines i dropped everything and bought their album. CTE will always be my favorite band. (MGMT runs a close second though)
I find the band inventive and extremely interesting for now. If they keep it up it would be great. I even kinda enjoy the quasi-underground status they have. I mean they have a bunch of views and fans already but aren't as widely known. Kinda prevents them from selling out or becoming too commercial. I love this song and the lyrics to it!
Love this version, not such a fan of the new milder feeling one. I guess the other is more 'appealing' to the masses. Keep it real and keep the great tunes comin :)
@Camponesadastrevas yes pearl jam was, Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard left green river because they wanted to sell out and Mark Arm didn't. then they were in mother love bone which tried to cater to hair metal and grunge fans for more popularity. and when that failed (RIP Andrew Wood), they formed pearl jam to cash in solely on the grunge scene. nirvana was simplistic. they were brilliant, but nearly every song is the same power chords. good vocals, drums, bass and guitar, it was just simple.
@sytemofadownwinna pearl jam fought media because it gave them MORE media attention. they were formed out of the ashes of mother love one which was formed from green river. green river split up because half the members wanted to be sellouts and half didn't. the half that wanted to be sellouts tried to be famous in mother love bone and when that failed, pearl jam. soundgarden was high? i don't know what you mean by that nor do i know what you mean by the rest of your comment. so you fail.
@flockofspades ... If you only mentioned Nirvana I wouldn't have fessed.. But did you just see what you typed? No.. I think you were high or something.. You just said that Soundgarden had no energy. Are you mental? Don't mess.
@NicholasJohn10 pearl jam was an invention for the media, soundgarden had no energy, and nirvana was simplistic. cage the elephant is better than all of them.
@flockofspades well they arent yet. nirvana, for one moved a world with there music. pearl jam and soundgarden were just great bands who have just been great bands for the careers. but yea i think with enough publicity cage the elephant will be more well known and untill that time will just keep getting better, look how sick they are now. imagine a couple years from now if they stay together. oh but nirvana will always stay haha.
look so far I'v been looking at all the comments for this and the new video and all I see is how he sings, how the live shows are how they sound like the white stripes or jimi bufet or whoever else and one or two people agreeing with specificly what hes saying but not one person thinks about what this could become if this band is able to start a movement it could pull us out of the poser infested, hannah montana, avenged sevenfold, linkin park rut of meaning in songs that has dominated the 2000s
To be fair your apology is accepted it's only natural to misunderstand sometimes we all do it. Not patronizing at all, just kind wishes read it how you want. We all begin by judging from somewhere. From where I am standing I think it's natural to conclude that if your doing well people will try to counteract your success for reasons of hate envy and what have you. With this in mind stay sharp and keep on rocking and don't let anyone drag you down.
@ProJunkky Well Nirvana is grunge i wouldnt say these guys are anything like grunge so the fact they are getting compared is wrong they are two different genres but they both have lyrics with meaning which i love in a band more then anything the only thing is these guys have been around for just a little over 2 or almost 2 years now while nirvana was a BAND of the 90s
@NicholasJohn10 Don't call soundgarden or pearl jam underated they got just as much attention as they deserved. If you want an underated band look up the rascals, Slaves to gravity and yes helicopter (ON myspace) They deserve so much more recognition than they get and soundgarden and pearl Jam at lease make money from what they do
Watch the in one ear video on Vevo, that video was recorded in Bowling Green. The one you are watching was not, or at least I did not recognize the place or people, and I live here. Love both vids and CAge and this song though. Rock hard, rock on.
ya i agree, i fuckin hate linkin park and all those emo bands (dont know if linkin park is considered emo but i hate them anyway) these guys are legit.. just awesome rock and energy... guess you might call it punk, but id rather call it rock...
they don't sound anything like white stripes or nirvana, I can see the vocal delivery a bit similar to the white stripes but that's about it, the melodies and instruments are worlds apart, and nirvana, when did you ever hear them play an open note??
@TheShyPieGuy dude im not trying to sound creepy or anything but your usernames hard to miss and i see you comment on all like the good music videos like violent soho nirvana soundgarden and now cage the elephant your awesome
U2? Or Cage the Elephant? The latter is new, and some reminds me of Cake. I detest some of the newer U2, but everything up until 6 or 7 years ago is gold. Few bands have held together and grown professionally as U2 has.
@flockofspades kurt wouldnt sing about playing on the radio, and he wouldnt put his song in a video game to make money. he killed himself because he realized he couldnt give his fans 100%. you fail sir.
This is the new vid, the old one was recorded in Bowling Green, but I have never seen this place before and I live here. that's the old version, I know there has been 3 videos for this song. Maybe more.
You have probably only heard wannabe punk bands. Go listen to Gang of Four or something like that. And Nickelback sucks horribly. A lot of modern bands are good, though, you just have to look for them.
Is this a joke? Fucked up modern day rock? They don't even qualify as rock...that's pop, dude. They didn't fuck pop up, because pop hasn't been good since the fucking Beatles.
this bands pwns harcore mushrooms like love the lead singers voice. i duno what it is over in england at the moment but it seems to be airy whiny lyrics are the fad nowadays
unfourtunetly rap will never die because so long as someones willing to record a song some stupid teen will listen to it i know this cuz everyone i know listens to that bad rap it's sad
oh sorry, i didn't realize yours was a reply to another post. I thought you meant gotta listen to the older cage... i see what you meant now I'll pass on the U2, thanks :)
Dude me too....fuck MTV ruins good music with this image bullshit. It has its place but.....I'd rather hear the song a few times before I see what the band looks like
immature world view going on there. i guess this video was made to appeal to shallow youngsters like you (assuming the 97 in your name is your year of birth).
Saw them open for Foo's at the Forum in Inglewood. They fucking self-censored...what the hell. Especially strange with Grohl's notorious love of the word 'fuck'.
@jammmmie009 I was just gona comment on how singer looks like Kurt Cobain :D same hairstyle and same music just this is new and nirvana is older :D but BOTH ROCK!
