"Cajun Fiddle," as played by Miss Emily. You can download a free mp3 version of this and many others of our songs on reverbnation.com. Search Ragtime Cowboy Phil.
One of the best guitar players I've ever known was 12 years old when he asked me for lessons. I gave him maybe three lessons before realising he didn't need them. After that we were just guitar playin' buddies. Natural talent doesn't really need lessons, in my opinion. And who cares about technique as long as it gets the job done! She's fantastic! So soulful! Excellent video. Watch it over and over!
For mrgreer51: This version of Cajun Fiddle is, I believe, one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard in my whole lofe. I like all kinds of music, except crap, which isn't music anyway. If you like crap music, you don't have bad taste for music; you have no taste for music. You wouldn't recognize music if you heard it. This version is just beautiful. I listen to it everyday. Thank you for posting it on RU-vid.
A real treat. Great playing and terrific music to dance to. French Acadian music is the original melodies that inspired the first rock and roll music plus country western in the US but very few people have discovered the origins. Rock on Cajun
I never grow tired of listening to this . I 've been taking the fiddle (am a mandolinist) for a year now and have learned from this video as one of the first tunes to play... cheers , happy holidays !
Thanks for posting your songs on youtube. I have listened to them over and over since I found them. They are great. Ya'll must really enjoy playing together.
I've been playing violin for 6 years now, and I suggest that the fiddle play uncrosses her legs. It promotes good form and you'll find that you sound a whole lot better and your bow arm isn't restricted. Good vid.. Keep playin!
The only thing wrong with this song is that it is just too short. It's such a wonderful, beautiful song, I wish it could go on at least a couple of more minutes.
Just bought me a real nice German fiddle and started my lessons tonight and my teacher said thats the first tune he's gonna teach me. I used to play a long time ago and gettin started back playin again. I'm 49 and I cant wait to brush the rust off and play again..... It is something that I love dearly and I really enjoy yall's videos....they gave me the " want to " to pick it back up. My hat's off to you!
@@mrgreer51 : I watch your video and I can see the love you and your daughter have for each other. I watch your video and video, more than anyone else's makes me wish I could play a fiddle; or violin...WHATEVER. I have a few questions for you. How much does a fiddle like Emily's cost brand new? Any particular brand you recommend? Is it hard to learn to play a fiddle? Who tunes them? Can you and Emily tune your own fiddles and guitars? I'd love to learn how to play a fiddle...or violin....Steve
I just wish this song was a little longer. I also wish I could have been there when you and your daughter recorded this song. I JUST LOVE THIS SONG!!! I also think this is the very best sounding version of this song.
Steve Williams I have this and several others available for free download on reverbnation. Search Ragtime Cowboy Phil to find the songs. They are all in mp3 format.
This is by far, the best version of Cajun Fiddle I have ever heard. Thank you for posting it on RU-vid. I added it to my favorites a few weeks ago. I listen to it just about every day.
I keep going back to watch your videos time and time again. I feel the energy in Emily, she cares so much about you Phil. You may ask, "What more can I do"? From the words of the divine God, I AM speaks, "You have done very well" YOU have touched many.
I love to listen to ya'll! You have a lovely family and all of you are so very talented. I saw the video with your mama and she was wonderful to listen to and watch. Listening reminds me of my daddy. He and his brother were musicians in their younger years and played at jambourees and radio stations in Miss(my state), Louisiana and Alabama. I have a lovely picture of them with their guitars in front of their parents 1936 car(they were going to a jambouree). I love all your videos!
I loved the music and your obvious enjoyment of performing is infectious! Thank you for bringing so much pleasure to everyone! Greetings from Scotland. x for Emily!

I am in awe. Your daughter is one talented young lady. You aren't so bad yourself. I love this. You will be receiving my order for some of your material in the next few days.
Tonnerre mes chiens! Dern tootin', now that's what a Cajun Fiddle should sound like! I love that old Buck Owens song, one of my favorite Cajun fiddle tunes ever. Great job!
