Wow it’s beautiful as it is Mary. Lot of work. This is one cake I have no interest in trying. I’ll let the experts do all the trying. But, you did a great job. And no one would really have known that did not see you put the edible paper on know that it faded. It looked beautiful to me. I would have bought it within question.
Mary, you can spray some oil or rub it on to the acetate and it should peel right off the gelatine. Still turned out absolutely beautiful! I looved the cake jars I bought! Delicious! 😊❤
Oh my gosh!🤯 Someday, I hope to reach the level where I can confidently make some like this! We no longer get a newspaper ( does anybody?) So I catch up on my YT subs at breakfast. I started watching my husband was really facinated by your process, too! I had made a simple carrot cake for my mom's birthday yesterday and had a few problems, just stupid little things, and he said, "See, even pros hit speed bumps along the way." He was really amazed at everything you did from the gelatin "water" to the isomalt coral. Thanks for showing another great tutorial, your methods, and the process...such great learning tools!😊
For firmer gelatin use about 2 spoonful unflavored gelatin for every cup of water. Better to opt for pig gelatin since is the clearest one and add some citric acid and clear flavoring. I looove making artistic gelatins.
¡¡wow amazing and wonderful cake!! I loved the decoration, a bit laborious, but the final presentation is worth it, seeing it really moved me to the reef, thanks for sharing and making it look so easy😅
Wow. Amazing how it all came together. I wouldnt say its a fail, rather a healthy, constructive learning process! Thank you so much for sharing it all with us. I can empathise with your frustration at not having the video recording. Been there, done that. I was very curious to see how you made the fondant coral "tubes". Would you be able to explain or perhaps do another video showing how you did it?
Cool! Thanks for the reply. I totally want to try this cake concept for my husband who is an avid sea fisherman. I showed him parts of your video and he was super impressed!
I would leave them in the fridge as long as possible. If you have some kind of chilled delivery system, that would probably be best. I know most people don't, though. Delivery for shorter distances would be ok but placed in a fridge once it gets where it is going. Just be sure to adjust the gelatin to be firmer when making it.
Woww Mary ur super unique ideas tempt me in trying ur cakes designs so much ❤❤❤ i wanted to request you to kindly show a 2 tier cake, with the Bottom tier made with wafer paper ruffles which has golden borders for the ruffles, n the top tier with a beautiful stencil work with a beautiful isomalt sail ❤ lots of love to you, hope ur doing good.. blessings, Cassie from Goa India ❤
This was great, fails an all🤗 One question..the video didn't show the pouring of the gelatin. Got a glimpse of using the straw tho but did you fill up the entire cake with gelatin or only part way? I so wanted to know how to do this and thank you so much for showing how. Love you❤
