I think you should do tests on 3 or 4 different windscreens. Use the same wind, stove, pot, and amount of alcohol. I've recently learned that the windscreen can have as much to do with heat output, boil times, and efficiency as the burner.
Try it with a perforated foil windscreen and a paperclip to fasten it. And use a capillary hoop stove design, since they automatically generate a small amount of vapour pressure to send jets directly upward. My set up will do that challenge in 6:30.
Would love to see a comparison on what would be the lightest for 7 days hiking with 3-4 cups boiled a day. Which fuel+equipment setup is most efficient ?
