CALIBAN FANS & "DEAD TO ME" FANS = I am a long term fan of Caliban & have seen them live (I HIGHLY recommend). I heard this song being played on "Dead to me" & I was so happy & excited because this band is one of the most underrated metal bands I've ever come across (I've been telling fellow metal fans about them for years & most have never heard of them). Being heard on the show gives them more exposure, which is excellent!!! People get exposed to music they've never heard in various ways & I am glad that more people worldwide will now discover this amazing band & their passionate music! The lead singer is a lovely bloke. He passed the microphone to various fans (me included) for them to sing parts of the song (I screamed my heart out). Let us all celebrate this amazing band! :-D
Caliban being featured on a Netflix US show is the best and most unexpected thing that happened since the Forza Horizon 4 soundtrack. Would expect this from a band like Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, Beartooth, Bring Me The Horizon or Architects. But i'm glad this is giving them the recognition they've been fighting for over 20 years. Hope Sirius XM's Octane starts to play this track more often.
100%! I've been a fan of them for years. Seen them live. They are one of my favourite metal bands. They are one of the most underrated bands I've ever comes across. Even fellow metalheads I chat to have never heard of them. Then I play them some of their tunes and they all react like "How the duck have I not heard them of them?!"
You seem to know a lot about this genre. Could you name some other songs that have a similar style? Heavy metal but with the real catchy chorus and hard af bass, not just screaming. I’ve listened to Mudvayne and Slipknot, but that’s about it.
I remember the first time I discovered Caliban. That was back in 2007 the first time I heard them was through their album titled The Awakening. I'm just glad they are still around doing their thing. It's not easy staying together in a band for so many years guys, give them credit where it's due. They've got their sound down to a science.
Lyrics I'm just a shadow Just another brick I'm just an echo It makes me sick They shove it Down my throat All this bullshit Makes me overdose I'm the ghost, you're the night I'm the shadow, you're the light I'm the ghost, you're the night I'm the shadow, you're the light I am paralyzed (oh, I'm paralyzed) I am tired of your ties My reflection of your lies I am paralyzed You fucking prick Drop dead You make me sick Blegh You fucking prick Drop dead You make me sick Get out of my head I'm still a shadow It ain't ever gonna stop I'm still an echo I still won't wake up And they're still shoving down my throat They're never gonna stop until I overdose I'm the ghost, you're the night I'm the shadow you're the light I am the ghost, you're the night I'm the shadow, you're the light I am paralyzed (oh, I'm paralyzed) I am tired of your ties My reflection of your lies I am paralyzed You fucking prick Drop dead You make me sick Blegh You fucking prick Drop dead You make me sick Get out of my head I'm a ghost I'm a shadow Breakout I am lost I am an echo Breakthrough I am a ghost I'm a shadow Breakout I am lost I am hollow Breakout I'm the ghost, you're the night I'm the shadow, you're the light I am paralyzed (oh, I'm paralyzed) I am tired of your ties My reflection of your lies I am paralyzed (I am paralyzed) You fucking prick Drop dead You make sick Blegh You fucking prick Drop dead You make me sick Get out of my head
So I was walking down the memory lane, and I remembered listening to CALIBAN like 12 years ago, so I RU-vidd them. I was suprised to find the newer music, and it's amazing to see how they've grown musically SO MUCH since then. It's Our Burden To Bleed still juices up some pretty nostalgic memories though. Cheers guys!
Marc Really nailed the sound of the guitars. No band sounds like this. This is my favorite album in 25 years. Where have I been that I never heard of Caliban.
amazing song love this band so much they always produce great music video is great too and I love the chorus part nice song and background music is amazing
@@AshleyWilliams-xq7lj I have to tell you to check out my buddies band "from blue to grey" sand & soil is a good song to start with. The sounds of flint metal. I'll try to think of more though.
I gotta admit, im not a huge Caliban fan. For me they had a couple of good songs and thats it. But daaaamn. This one blew me away. Will definitely check the new recording when it comes out.
I've been a Caliban fan for years and played this album tons before seeing them a few months back (absolutely amazing show) and finally got round to watching Dead To Me last night. It actually made me jump. So unexpected, no one I know except my family seems to of heard of them. I thought my TV was being hacked or something! So glad it's introduced more people to this band. 🤙
Saw them live recently, they are so so good. I was a bit bewildered by the singer's white tennis socks, but he is very agile on stage, so they are getting some good use
I was watching Netflix last night with Christina Applegate listening to this song and had to look of the lyrics. Another great song added to my collection. Love this song so much.
@@genocidevirus8986 Mayeb you're not wanting to accept change? If metal stayed the same as the 80s or 90s then it would be so boring by now. There are thousands of amazing bands in the scene
