Zakhaev: Our blood has been spilled on our soil. My blood. On their hands. All US and British forces will leave Russia immediately. Or suffer, the consequences
Amen. Cod just doesn’t hit the same anymore… Its like when they actually put passion and cared about telling a good story. Nowadays it’s some half assed campaign that’s meant to be some cheap money grab..
@Atomic-Lad tbf, it's not like MW2019 is a bad game. I've played all the cod games up until WWII where I stopped caring until MW2019 launched. It's never gonna be CoD 4 I agree. but it was a really solid game. I still play it today. I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll have to offer this year. Though I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the more simplistic nature of the earlier games.
"i was just a leftenant back then.... doing some wetwork. Chernobyl... christmas for the bad guys, even a decade later a lot of em still use it to get their hands on nuclear material. A lot of em... including one Imran Zakhaev. Of course we couldn't just let that happen. Cash for spent fuel rods ? That's one hell of a recipe for disaster. It was the first time that our government authorized an assassination mission since the second world war. I was under the command of Captain Mcmillan."-Cpt John price
Remember the firefighters, and responders that dealt with this crisis. Many young men faced their doom due to the radiation. A couple days ago marks the 30th anniversary. Don't forget heros
I took a tour to pripyat a few months ago, and walked around looking up at the abandon buildings and got up to a view point and saw the reactor building in the distance. All while listening to this. It's one thing seeing it in a game, but actually being there.... that's a different feeling for sure..
@@garrettwilson2626 I booked myself a trip to Pripyat the 26th. I don't live too far away from that place. Thank you so much for letting me know about these tours! Mad kudos!
This very mission in COD4 made me want to learn about Chernobyl and Soviet history. Fast forward and I'm now working my way towards a career in nuclear physics.
This song genuinely makes me feel like I'm in a dead, decaying and forgotten place. This is true art. I wish cod didnt ditch this for what we have now.
In the loving memory of days gone by. I grew up playing COD4 and I think for many of us, it's a reminder of a simpler time in life, free of worry and stress. I'll miss that era deeply.
"I was just a leftenant back then.... doing some wetwork, Chernoby, Christmas for the badguys, even a decade later they still managed to get their hands on nuclear material, including one... Imran Zackaev. It was the first toime our government issues an assassination order since the second world war. I was under the command of Captain McMillan.... "
@@TahaAddam especially the firefighters who all died in horrific pain and not even getting a respectful burial, no instead they were buried in lead lined coffins and then put in zinc coffins and finally in a sea of concrete in a unmarked grave
No they really don't. I find that MW2019 was a good attempt at trying to replicate that feeling. But without the OG IW team it's just not the same. I was only 4 at the time, so I never played it new. My dad did though. He played competitively on PC and even had some mates in the modding scene. Used to run servers all the time for folk like NovemberDobby. I picked it up myself years later in year 7. First year of highschool. used to play with my mates whenever I could if I was lucky enough to have XBL gold. When Raven did the remaster and it was a more or less 100% replication at launch I was so happy to play it again. Sucks Activision had to ruin it.
Nothing and I mean nothing will beat the mission All Ghillied Up. As a kid I remember constantly playing that mission, over and over. I would get goosebumps every time this played in the background.
This is when call of duty mattered true art and now they have ruined it. Simple combat, vanilla realistic kill streaks, no bull shit no over the top perks. Beautiful ambience, perfect music... thanks for this upload I just got done playing some Bloc on MWR and this music brought so much emotion of how perfect this COD is... reminds me how I would play this every day back in high school maxing out my rank and still kicking ass.
This song is criminally short and yet still manages to encompass complex mourning. “old glory gone to rust, lessening futures of greater times now past” We didn’t know how to fully appreciate the benefits available nor realize the injustices we suffered. wish it were at least a 15 min score T_T
Having this song creep in during the middle of a chaotic multiplayer match was one of the most heartfelt and morale boosting moments in any video game I've ever played
Cod4 and Waw in my opinion felt like the two darkest titles in the franchise. The OST is just dark in both games, but this song and Vendetta are just the darkest.
Don’t know why, but whenever this comes on, I always have nostalgic memories of when I first played the mission years and years ago. I’d do anything to go back to those days and re-live those moments.
I totally feel that. At the time I was 13 and this game revamped my interest in gaming. My parents got me a 360 Christmas 2007 along with cod4, rainbow six vegas, and graw2. One of the best Christmases ever.
When u think about it. The real Chernobyl disaster is really sad. When Macmillan said 50,000 people used to live here now it’s a ghost town. Hits hard because he’s right
Played so many games since childhood, now I'm 27 and after near 20 years of gaming this game still remains my fav game. This game for me is the perfect game the music, atmosphere, story combines perfect plus online part which was fun and engaging. And this song in particular I always listen when I'm angry or had a hard day at work. It calms me down. For a sad song is very relaxing
Kyle: (pulls down sheets revealing board full of maps and pictures of a Russian arms dealer) captain, whats all this? Price: my past days as a lieutenant... Kyle: you haven't shared this with me, why sir? Price: never felt the need to.. Kyle: what was the mission in pripyat? Price: I was just a leftenant back then..... doing some wet work. Chernobyl, Christmas for the bad guys. Even, a decade later, lot of em still used it to get their hands on nuclear material. Alot of em, including one, (taps on picture) Imran zakhaev. Of course we couldn't just let that happen. Cash for spent feul rods? Now thats one hell of a recipe for destruction. It was the first time our government authorized an assassination order since the second world war. I was under the command of captain macmillan. Ended up blowing Zakhaev's arm off instead, but we got him later. "
Look at this place...fifty thousand people used to live in this city. Now it's a ghost town...I've never seen anything like it... Captain MacMillan "BasePlate"
My younger brother has started playing on my old Xbox 360 and started playing cod when this mission came on I heard the theme to it I light had flashbacks
True call of duty. Still the best call of duty of all time. Warzone doesn't come close to how replayble this campaign is. The multiplayer is still to this day unbeatable.
Im a day late and an artifact short but...37 years ago. Get out of here stalker. Oops wrong game. But I have COD 4 to thank for getting me into the stalker franchise. I remember playing this level and thinking 'they should make a game where this level is expanded to be a whole game'
listening to this music and reading the comments makes me want to cry. This music makes you remember all the good things and the fact that it's in the past and it can't be returned and also creates an eerie feeling of emptiness and infinity
i was just a lieutenant back then doing some network Chernobyl christmas for bad guys even a decade later a lot of them put their hands on nuclear materials including one IMRAN ZAKHAEV
Unfair, and Sobbed by the terrible Chernobyl events that happened years ago, to see people fall from an accident is... saddening, Hurtful...shaming. An event that should not have happened, but did happen. This music isn't just about nostalgia, or the gameplay, it's about those who have fallen from a horrifying calamity, one we shall not forget. I honor Treyarch and Infinity Ward for this. It truly brings out a sad feeling in people, but a sad feeling that those who suffered in the Chernobyl accident, and those who tried to save the suffering people, didn't die in vein. I might say, those memories can be related to a certain someone in my life, who suffered from an accident, one that should have never happened. May thy now rest in peace, with a happy ending that lasts for eternity
When i play the mission the first time in 2016 i was flashed, how good can music give you a feeling like this music? The saddest thing about it is, i won’t will ever feel that feeling like it was for the first time.
My old neighbourhood has similar architectural designs and topography as Pripyat (eastern, "slav" town), and is currently half abandoned for many reasons, my old flat building is completely empty, so playing this mission gives me childhood nostalgia and strange feeling of emptiness
I'm sure a lot of people in this comment section know this, but excerpts of the soundtrack play in a multiplayer match every so often. The beginning of this sometimes plays, and its sound adds an interesting depressed kind of atmosphere to the match.
