Despite the downgrades, BO1 on Wii is 100% BO1. It's impressive how Treyarch managed to port not only BO1 but WaW, MW1 and MW3 on a weaker console while keeping the soul of that games intact. And their super fun to play too
Playing Kino with my “allies” on the Wii was so much fun. I genuinely felt heartbroken when my Wii randomly stopped working one day. I still remember their usernames :(
@@alface935 I did not forget about it actually but CoD3 was released even for PlayStation 2, so making the Wii version was surely easier. But for unknown reasons PS2 version has online multiplayer while Wii version doesn't
@@riddle_me_this9127 True it is missing the Multiplayer on the Nintendo Wii Treyarch probably looked at the Nintendo Wii and thought "This is just a Gamecube so it has no Online so no need to make Multiplayer for Wii" since the Gamecube didn't have Online (Phantasy Star Online was the only game in the Gamecube to use the Broadband adapter to play Online) and because of that Call Of Duty 2 Big Red One in the Gamecube also didn't have Multiplayer and the same goes to Call Of Duty Finest Hour in the Gamecube also didn't have Multiplayer Not even Local Splitscreen Multiplayer for Finest Hour, 2 Big Red One for Gamecube and 3 for Wii which is just sad :(
not sure if anybody mentioned this but the song easter egg in zombies was added in via a patch that was available in the Wii Shop channel a week after the game released. It also fixed some bugs, like the Mystery Box creepy speech and the thunder gun reload animation
The way you present these games in side by sides to the best you can to match them up together is really well done! These are some of the least talked about versions of these games and you managed to show more comparisons than most channels with thousands of subs have before! Really nice work and really well edited.
@Dagoodtree Ain't no way you just said it's more powerful than the ps3 💀 it just doesn't have the filter, not to mention the fact the ps3 had native Linux support called "OtherOS" before they removed it to kill off the ps3. But the WiiU absolutely does NOT have as much power as the ps3.
@tonybean642 Perhaps it has better dev tools or isn't as hard to develop for. Gabe Newell (Valve Creator) said that he hated PS3's because they were hard to develop for. At the time, 4 Core processors were brand new and weren't in consoles. But the WiiU definitely did not have as much power.
I love treyarch for bringing bo1 to the wii…was the only way to play for people who couldnt afford the other options. Sure it had less content but what they acomplished with what they had to work with is so amazing to me. Good Video mate
I will never forget my time on Black Ops on the wii. From the gecko coders to custom gamemodes in private matches, and that pdp headset that always broke. lol
Oh man i threw this on my second monitor for just some background listening, and had no idea it was made by such a small channel. This is really well made man! keep it up!
My first campaign play through of BO1 was on the Wii, and even though I watched my father play the PS3 version (before I got a hold of the X360 one) I NEVER noticed it was THAT different.
As a kid I actually really enjoyed the loading screens before cutscenes, because it unintentionally added a lot of suspense as to what’s gonna happen next
Where it all started for me. Black Ops 2 on the Wii U. The Wii U Pro Controller remains my favorite fps controller TO THIS DAY. Both thumbsticks in THE PRIME POSITION.
7:57 It was a sad day in 2023 Back in 2014 Nintendo shut down all Their Digital Stores (DSI Store and Wii Shop Channel) and Online Servers for all games (DS and Wii) that used Nintendo Servers with that the Multiplayer of Call Of Duty 5 World At War was taking down Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 1, Call Of Duty 7 Black Ops 1, Call Of Duty 8 Modern Warfare 3 remained safe because They were Activision servers and not Nintendo servers but that was only a Curse In Disguise Because in 2023 Activision fixed the Servers for the Call Of Duty games (It wasn't just Call Of Duty either a lot of the Xbox 360 Library was fixed to work again too) on the Xbox 360 which was great to see But in 2023 Activision also decided to shut down the Online Servers for MW1, BO1 and MW3 on the Nintendo Wii Making it only Black Ops 2 and Ghost on the Nintendo Wii U the only remaining games (As of March 2024) that still have Their Online Servers still turn on But Nintendo will shut down Their Online Servers in April of 2024 so I would recommend keeping a eye for that since I don't know if thoses Call Of Duty games on the Wii U run in Nintendo servers or Activision servers so keep a eye for that and stay safe
Man, all the memories of having to "forget" my ps3 gamer tag at school because of how embarrassing it would've been to say i have bo2 on the wiiu. Such great memories of playing bo2 and ghost on my wiiu, though i wish they released the season pass for both
Props to the studios for making it happen, but I feel like Call of Duty is just a game that is not meant for the Wii. I know CoD was at its peak during the time but I can’t imagine they made THAT much more revenue from the ports. People weren’t buying Wii’s so that they could play shooting games on them. They bought them not only for Wii Sports, but to play some of Nintendo’s best family fun games. Smash Bros & Mario Party have to be the most fun games I have ever played on Nintendo consoles.
I actually got my start on COD with WAW on the Wii, which lacked the zombies. We only had the Wii until we got a 360 and MW3 in 2011. Getting WAW on Xbox years later was insane, considering the differences between the versions.
You needed a patch to play CoD BO1 and MW3 Online on the Wii, you could get it easily on a Homebrew Wii, but unfortunately the servers were fully shutdown last year with the message "The Online Service for this software has been shutdown, Thanks for playing!" :(
25:55 That also happended to the Online Multiplayer for Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 for the Nintendo Wii since both got a Free Update Patch in its life cycle in the Wii Shop Channel but that is down so people didn't download that in time would now need to Soft Modded Their Wii's so that They can download off the Internet and put in Their Wii's and install from there
Considering that the Wii's hardware was basically just a more powerful Game Cube it's kinda impressive that they managed to port the exact same game with the same engine and gameplay, Modern Warfare 3 even has updates and voice-chat on the Wii. The Wii U CODs are great but not that impressive considering the Wii U was more powerful than the PS3/X360 in terms of hardware, it's a shame that poor sales meant they didn't receive as much support, I would love to see like Black Ops 3 would be in it.
The ee song do work on the wii , you just needed to update the game (Which is impossible since the Wii store closed) the update fixed that problem and some others like one with the thundergun
WiiU Bo2 zombies has die rise, idk about nuketown tho. I know this because I knew a guy that has die rise on his Wii U. Unfortunately, the Wii U does not have mob, buried, or origins.for anyone with die rise. If you have die rise on Wii U, this makes your copy of the game EXTREMELY rare.( I wonder how who’s who works lol)
@@Peash00t3r76YT It's possible to preview the DLC 1 maps in a private match through modding due to the dlc being in the files of the wii u version, that's probably what you saw. You can't actually play them due to the DLC not being released on Wii U.
The issue with you not being able to find an online match isn't a Wii-U issue. I'm not sure you if you knew but all the global servers for just the Wii aswell as the DS were shut down way back in May of 2014 so even if you were to try COD or any other game on the Wii it will not work. You can't even buy games from the Wii Shop anymore. However there are active groups who brought the servers back using third party tools so you might have a chance to play online with that, your only issue from there is finding people to play the Wii ports of COD with.
Wii CoDs (apart from WaW) didn't use Nintendo's servers (used activisions) so they were still playable just fine past the 2014 shutdown, till the servers were shut offline entirely last year by ATVI. Wiimfii isn't able to support the Wii CoDs either
Ah yes Black Ops 1 for the Nintendo Wii Also known as *The Game* to make Your Nintendo Wii turn into a Brick Which I don't blame the poor thing to turn into a Brick If anything I am surprised it even worked in the first place
@@LHeyMX It got so bad that Nintendo started offering Free Repairs for Wiis that got Bricked because of Black Ops 1 Nintendo was paying for the repairs but eventually Their decided to make Activision pay for the repairs Activision refused to pay for the repairs and so in response Nintendo refused to sell the DLCs for Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 on the Wii At least that is what I heard from iC0NB0Y idk if is true but He is The Wii/Wii U Call Of Duty RU-vidr so I trust Him
@@alface935 Yep iC0NB0Y and AeroCodManiac were my go to Wii content creators I would watch growing up (And I was lucky to even play a couple of matches with them both in Bo1 & MW3)
@@LHeyMX I Only started watching Him after He made that Call Of Duty Wii Remember Documentary and that is what made Me fall in Love with Call Of Duty in Wii and Wii U
17:14 I don't have a Wii U so I can't tell if this true or false 🤷🏼♀️ I hope is just Skill Issue because it would be sad for everyone if this is true 🙇🏼♀️
