For this video I popped the bike in the back of the car and drove up to Callander to join the NCNR7 (National cycle network route)and follow it north as far as I could in the few hours that I had that morning. it was such a great day and I was blown away by just how good it was and also how nice the weather and temperature was on this day. This route goes along the old railway line that went from Callander to Oban. I really wanted to go further but will go back and continue this route as there is so much more to see. #travel #cycling #scotland #bikepacking #bike #asmr #drone #gopro #4k

After watching this video my husband and I cycled from Callander to Balquhidder and back just last week. Have to say it was one of the most scenicly beautiful rides we've ever done! We were very lucky with the weather which helped make it so memorable. Thanks for the inspiration!! 😊👍

Thank you. It makes me so happy to hear that I'm helping people find and discover these routes. Cycling this route and making this video was the best day I've had on the bike so far this year. Going back to this beautiful part of the country soon to carry on where I left off 😁

As a commuter cyclist, I’m always amazed at the distances people cover on these trails. That was until I tried one, it’s a crazy how a well made and maintained path just makes cycling almost effortless. No trying to keep up with traffic or dealing with traffic lights! So glad these exist around Scotland, keep up the great content and I hope to see you out on the trails at some point!

I do this route at least four times a year. Once from Aberfoyle to Killin and back, track past the crossing after Glen Ogle you need wider tyres a minimum of 32’s but best wider best on gravel bike. If you had have gone on past Stratheyre you would have looked round to Balquhider which is all nice B roads. There’s also a gravel track you can take to Loch Voile Youth Hostle but needs gravel bike but great views. (I filmed that one but haven’t edited yet. You can take track or road North side to St Fillans which is a nice ride and south side is good too. There’s also some awesome gravel tracks off all of this route and if your lucky you will see the fantastic wild goats with their awesome horns. It’s a route that looks so different with all the changing seasons.

The map I’ve started to use recently is OS maps and it has a national cycle network layer that you can switch on and off. I’ve found is so useful when I’ve been lost or strayed off the network. It’s totally free and you don’t even need to log in or register to use it. Google maps also has a cycling filter but this highlights every possible cycle path and can include every footpath as well.
