Jake, I agree with your statement here. I am grateful for brothers like Joel who are bold and identify the places where influential Christian leaders and straying from scripture. I’ve been wrestling with this: how would you respond to genuine believers who say this kind of work is unnecessarily divisive? Some people have a huge problem with naming names, especially if it’s done without first getting the person’s permission, and they think that reformed people have their own little bubble and that we think everyone who doesn’t agree with us exactly is wrong. How would respond to this kind of thinking?

@@jakebull2571 Jake, i’ve heard it said about calvinists that they are “always angry and grumpy”. I think this sort of explains the “bubble” you may be talking about. Perhaps what people lack understanding about is that those people in the reformed camp or world have less concern with the feelings or sentiments of people and more concern with the Holiness and Glory of God. Which should always be our main priority. It is when we lose this focus, we start focusing on the issues that people “feel” are important, such as homosexuality. And then these things creep into the church. So while we should be respectful and loving with our vocabulary when confronting and addressing these issues, we should still address and confront them, even without permission. It would be ideal that we address them face to face like Paul did with Peter when he was acting as a hypocrite and jeopardizing the message of the Gospel to the gentiles. But in our age, where preachers can post online to millions of people in seconds, this is not always the most feasible option, so its appropriate to tend to these matters as necessary.

Absolutely correct, i was a Catholic over 20 years ago ,after getting married to a Baptist Girl , i was shocked to actually see the truth what GOD says you must do to get to heaven and what the Catholic Church says you must do are 2 completely different worlds. Once i started to ask questions about the bible , the Catholic Church and only certain Hierarchy can read and answer questions from the Bible. Once i found the truth everything started to fall in place, they dont even have Bibles in the Catholic Church only Hymnal books and a pamphlet you can read along at mass what the priest will be speaking from. Its shocking how many Catholics just dont no scripture, there blind to a Church to false doctrine, the Church is there God. they dont even know we are at war there being deceived by a pope that just said homosexuality is not a crime, where God completely says it is ,so how can you say you are living for God, i am, so glad i became saved and know the truth and live for him and not a Church.

@@annamineer2521 I’m not trying to be mean here, but your first mistake was marrying a Catholic when you’re a Protestant. I don’t know if you got saved after you married him or if you were already saved when you married him. But the truth of the matter is the two of you are unequally yoked. You should not divorce him of course unless he is abusing you or if he’s cheating on you. If he’s a good husband and the two of you love each other, you should stay with him and let your life and your light shine on him. Teach him the way by living for Christ out loud in front of him. Love him beyond measure and pray for him and let him know that you are praying for him. Let him know that you want to spend eternity with him in heaven and you want him to be saved so he can go to heaven. Also let him know that you love him but you will not go to hell for him and that’s where he is headed. But the first thing you have to do is repent for the sin of marrying outside of your faith. Repent for the sin of being unequally yoked to a nonbeliever. God cannot work on your husband until you admit to God that you sinned by marrying out of your faith and ask Him to restore your marriage and save your husband. God can save him through you, but you must witness to him and have other Christian men witness to him. Of course do all of this in love. You can’t beat him over the head with the gospel, but gently show him the way by living your faith out loud in front of him. Pray out loud where he can hear how heart broken you are that he is headed to hell and won’t be in heaven with you. Praise The Lord out loud around the house. Read the Bible out loud around the house. Be the absolute best wife to him. Give him no reason to look elsewhere. Keep his home clean and a welcoming place for him to come home to. Tell him how much you respect him and appreciate how hard he works to give you a home and food on the table and clothes on your back. And at the same time let him know how heartbroken you are at the thought that he is going to hell. Have a Christian man invite him to church. Hang out with other Protestant Christian couples and let him see how happy other Protestant Christian men are. Live a life of joy out loud in front of him. Many people think that Christians are sad and not fun to be around. Let him see that’s not true. You don’t have to preach at him 24/7 but time is short so you need to do what you have to do to get him saved before it’s too late. Ask him to pray with you and for you. If all he can do is just sit with you while you pray that’s a good start. But like I said before, the first thing you need to do is repent of your sin of marrying outside of your faith and ask God to bless your marriage now that you know the truth and to show you ways to witness to your husband because you want him to be saved so he will go to heaven with you. Then follow The Lords lead. Ask Him to give you the right words to say to soften your husband’s heart. The things I said are just suggestions, you need to ask The Lord to lead you and guide you as to what to do and say to your husband. He knows him better than even you do. You can pray about my suggestions and ask God if any of them are the way to proceed. Follow The Lords lead, not mine and not your own. God bless you and I’ll be praying for you both. Take care.

@Tiffany When visiting any church for the first time it is important to first read their declaration or mission statement often handed out in pamphlet form at the front. If they don't have one, ask the office for one or the pastor themselves. One of the best things you can do and how to know you found the "right church" that preaches from God's word in the Bible and not from their own personal interpretation is to find out how they feel about being checked? *A truly good Christian pastor will tell you to not just take his word for what he is saying, but after church go home and actually double check and confirm what you were just taught is truly in the Bible and in the words and true meaning of how it was written.* Any pastor having a problem with being checked is the wrong church to be attending for study and fellowshipping within. As for the sheep and shepherd topic above which again, I really didn't follow what you were trying to get at (respectfully), God used to express in a metaphor His role in taking care of His flock but it is equally important to know that God didn't want mindless little critters running about but rather individuals who could accept or deny Him and the Salvation Jesus gifted to us to be received (or not). @OldEnoughToKnowBetter (also for Tiffany to read) I completely agree, Jesus Himself is known as "The Lamb" and He was anything but mindless. The lamb obviously being however more of a representation of His sacrifice for our Salvation of course. No disagreement here, using a metaphor or analogy is sometimes confusing and in text messaging, can get misrepresented. Without a doubt, we are in fact part of His flock and He is our Sheppard. My only point was to say that others who are not Christians could easily read that post and say "See, they are just mindless sheep who have to believe without question" and wanted to clarify beyond some things that require faith because we can't fathom or fully understand the mind and reasoning of God, that a good pastor would encourage the idea of researching and verifying what he is preaching in the church, to it's body, in cross-reference to the Bible being not only Gods word but explained as God meant it to be understood (not all things are literal). As you pointed out, we are not mindless and God did give us freedom of choice. For the Christian, we are certainly called on to be as "Christ-like" as possible but as it was said, and as we know, we all fall short of that however we are all given the freedom of choosing the wide or narrow path. Will there be deception and confusion amongst the Christian body (the wolves) while walking that path, yes of course, thus the point I was making of a good pastor encouraging their congregation and those they preach to, to go home, read the Bible, and back up what was just taught for the day was my only point. How many Christians do you know act "like literal sheep" where they live their life day to day without much concern and believe going to church on Sundays at 9am is "good enough" never to followup on what they were just told in a Sunday service thinking "if my pastor said so, that's got to be the truth and that's good enough for me". This is where we (as Christians) have gone wrong many many times all rolling back to the start of this topic with Tiffany stating that "It's so hard to find a good church of TRUTH". Sounds like we are in agreement on this and to Tiffany, there are many very good churches to choose from but sadly yes, like buying a house you sometimes need to go visit them one by one to find that perfect fit that not only makes you feel welcome and at home, but most importantly is preaching the truth and not just what we want to hear! And we’re not responsible for the sins that others commit in the present or the future. Of course we’re responsible for telling them the truth and witnessing to them about Jesus and telling the the gospel and praying for them and even helping others in need, especially our neighbors and family and friends. But we ARE NOT responsible for their sins, past, present or future. We are only responsible for our own sin. We are responsible for sharing the gospel to everyone we can. I might be the one to plant the seed and you might be the one to water that seed and someone else will be the one to harvest the crop. We all have our jobs to do within the body of Christ. We are responsible for doing our job. Christ does the saving of the souls. But people are responsible for their own sins. Or to hold you responsible for mine. Yes, we should all be taking care of one another, especially our neighbors, our family and our friends, because charity begins at home. If they decide to do it again in the future, I’ll be the first to stand up against it and will NOT take part in it. the Missouri-Synod, woke??? Didn't they used to be the more conservative one back in the day? I'm shocked. My family is Lutheran...Grandma came over from Germany. Mom's dad, who died before I was born, was very conservative in beliefs. My mom was the more "religious" one in the family, and we attended a local Lutheran church that aligned with Missouri-Synod. It was the body that did not ordain women pastors. Was a very wonderful church family. As an adult believer, I found my own church and didn't stay with the Lutherans, but would like to know what happened.

The Word of God is preached fully in its truth and purity, and they do NOT yield to any secular pursuits which would taint, go against, or seek to burn down God's truth.

Nice discernment of these hypocrites. We all are hypocritical to an extent, but there is a manifestation of evil that smears the word of God & hurts our children. How do you discern? I think you're already on the path. but it's important that you continue to develop discernment. Continue to pray for wisdom & discernment (1 Kings 3:9-12). It is imperative that you learn to discern truth from error, so that you will not be led astray. Over and over again, the New Testament writers warned that the church would be inundated with all sorts of false teachers and false teachings that would seek to deceive people, and lead them astray from the truth. See Matthew 24:23-24; Acts 20:29-31; 2 Peter 2:1-3.

I guarantee that if these two men only had a 10min discussion to solely call out the false teachers, then every 2nd comment would be someone condemning them for being so flippant with their words.
