@@dalalalsubaie190 not even that they’re mad it’s the board of educations standards and if a teacher doesn’t uphold that standard it’s a reflection on their teaching. A job is a job and people sometimes have to follow rules they don’t care for.
@@pingupungo3365 most teachers don’t care about the last name thing usually it’s that they have a standard to uphold from whoever they received their contracts from. Plus it’s great for personal privacy.
@@Random_dancing i mean teachers earned the right to be called by their last name via getting a degree through college. so yes, they do have authority over you 😅
@@jroegamerim not saying that teachers shouldnt have authority over students, but i dont think it should be connected to the fact that they went to college lol
Well most teachers only hear their last name from the start to the end of the day. I had one teacher (Jeff Ludwig) who hated his first and last name so we just called him Lud or Mr. Lud. The one time I called him Mr. Ludwig he looked at me and goes, "Don't ask for advice on your tattoo art ever again." I was flabbergasted cause dude was like a father to me because we connected on that level through our shared love of art. I was just like, "I'm sorry, Lud." He just smiled with that big toothed goofy ass smile and slapped my shoulder, "Hah, gotcha. You're all good, bud." I was so conflicted xD.
@@camobranson09 haha yh ur right some them just don't recognize their first name at all since as you said they expect to be called by their last name. Also I felt your fear from the comment, the most scary thing is having a very friendly teacher become stern with you
@@Game822snake The best part is I became more like that teacher than I ever thought I would. Complete with the ability to go from laughing to just the most stern poker face imaginable and back.
Is it like against the rules in USA to call teachers by their last name still? I think it's been 25 years since we ditched rules like that here in Norway
@@toth.42 it's not a rule anywhere it's just a cultural norm. i feel like if a teacher got pissy and tried to punish a kid for using their first name then the principal or school board would most likely just override them and say it's not a big deal
@@claraberg1214 Oh my, still if you’d be a teacher in Sweden the students would only say Clara.. we don’t use the professor miss mrs. We have the words, but it’d be weird if a student were to use them. Sorry in advance if my English is confusing, it’s not the greatest😅❤
It’s because you felt guilt as you’re aware of the level of disrespect he’s giving them at the same time having a camera pointed at each teachers face which they would have to rethink their natural reaction
it probably feels just as weird hearing it as it does saying it (between friend's parents and a few of my professors from college insisting I use first name now--it feels WEIRD)
I love how each of their reactions are unique and where some of them don't even notice there's something wrong while others are completely stunned on how this person is calling is by our first name.
It's like someone on a server using your real name for the first time. Some are like wtf not cool while others are like wtf ok I guess and some are just like sup
Bruh here in my school some teachers call out me saying present instead of present sir and you think I would stand a chance if called them by their first names
