Just because you have not experienced it does not make it so black & white. I've been fit & disciplined all my life and career. 45 menopause hit me like a ton of bricks, then developed hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency with every side effect known to all 3. Ate raw food diet, juice fasts, vegan diet, vegetarian diet, cico diet of 800-1000 calories tops ~ kept gaining weight. No one could have told me it was ever possible, I would have said "You're crazy!" ~ I went to numerous doctors when weight started rising. I was panicked! They offered no help, just looked at me like I was complaining about a little weight. Years later and at my heaviest, done with every Naturopath I spent my savings on, I gave it one more try. Ketogenic way of eating. So glad I did. The depression lifted immediately. And through lots of tweaks, some ups & downs I'm still progressing. 19 lbs. gone eating low carb, moderate protein and high fat. Meeting my tdee and macros easily, tracking and weighing/measuring everything I consume. It's totally worth my time and effort. I am worth it. It's been a long 7 years of battle. Now at 52 I believe I am getting my positive, in-shape self back. Best Wishes All and Happy Holidays ♡
I've been going through the same thing but only in my 30s. The only thing that has actually worked is keto/low carb but I'm constantly falling off the wagon and I don't find it to be sustainable. I'm really struggling.
800-1000 calories is basically a starvation diet. I'm sorry, but I don't believe you didn't lose weight if that was your genuine calorie consumption. More likely, you were consuming far more calories than you thought.
Problem in the beginning was your metabolism was crashed, because anybody eating under a 1000 calories per day would lose weight quickly but with it goes your metabolism and the weight will come back really easily.
@@hangha7016 I do 16:8 hours fast 5 days a week. Weekends my schedule is erratic. I eat carbs but mostly complex carbs.i have fallen off the wagon recently but would stick to eating mostly home cooked meals. No packed stuff. And now that I am lighter,I do chole ting,Pamela Reif workout out videos daily and 3-5km brisk walks ,5 times/ week.
Thank you Dr Berg. Following your advice to the letter and have lost 15lbs in 16 days, absolutely no cravings, tremendous energy throughout the day and nooooo brain fog.
Im starting to think that its not just calories in/out is what i mean. Certain foods trigger excessive insulin release to combat sugar and the result is fat storage. Like a twinkie vs salad. Yes salad has fewer calories more volume more vitamins fills you up more etc but it also doesnt make you feel fatter in the belly and face immediately or make you feel lethargic and poisoned.
It’s a shame that we’re not taught about how when you restrict calories over several months you reduce the amount of calories you burn daily and so you will definitely gain the weight back even when eating lower calories
No, it really isn't complicated! It's just people with bad information that make it seem complicated. Trust me... I've lost 60lbs in 6 months so far, I've been building a ton of muscle and I feel amazing! All due to bodybuilding and calorie tracking. Don't believe garbage like this!
@@Pro_Chef. Calorie tracking helped me go from 300 lb down to 145 lb In one year and I documented my entire journey on my RU-vid channel. You want to "blah blah blah" that? The proof is right there on my channel.
@@Pro_Chef. I went from 300 lb down to 145 lb in less than 1 year doing that. I have proof too. I documented everything. Go ahead and take a look if you like.
smh you guys are getting the wrong idea. the whole point of this video is to show you that the micronutrients you consume effect your hormones... too much protien raises the fat building hormone which is insulin eating fat does not raise insulin. carbs raises insulin but sugar makes it skyrocket. thats why in order to inter ketosis you have to have no sugar at all but keep your net carbs at around 30 to 50 g because fiber is very important for bile movements and veggies have vitamins
There's too much ego in here. People are just upset because what they've been doing isn't scientifically proven. It's ok if it works for them. But these are the facts.
That's right, Dr. Michael Greger explains how fat affects insulin resistance . intolerance had skyrocketed in the group eating the high-fat diet. www.forksoverknives.com/fat-insulin-resistance-blood-sugar/
sugar is a problem carbs are not, and a problem is the source since grains are so bad today (for different reasons) and we all have some intolerance but the low carb vs low fat is pointless, keep the fats and proteins the same and increase/decrease the whole carbs when making exercises, simple. I do prefer potatoes, beans and rice
Tyrone let's get this straight, we bodybuilders reduce our calorie intake by eating a high protein diet, low carb and very low fat and lose 2 pounds a week for at least 3 to 4 months and lose 20 to 30 pounds of fat and get our body fat down to 3% so as you can see we do the opposite, protein is NOT going to turn into fat unless you are eating an excessive amount of calories so it doesn't matter where the calories come from it's an equation, how many calories you put in and how many calories you put out "Burn" and also depends on the person's metabolism, the more muscle mass the faster metabolism, the less muscle mass the higher fat mass and slower metabolism so high protein diet + Weight training = faster metabolism = less body fat.
I agree with what he saying because your metabolism need to speed up as you get older. I gained 50 pound in my 30 years and couldn't lose it. After I got away the from stress, I lost 30 pounds of it.
That's what I've found. When I was laid off, I lost weight quickly. When I was employed again, the stress was back and the sedentary work and commuting put the pounds back on. Now I'm 61 and nearing retirement. I'm 20 pounds overweight, but I know I can lose it when I retire.

The law of conservation of energy doesnt give a damn about your hormones. Its all about calories in, calories out. Its the laws of physics haha. I’ve lost nearly 100 pounds, grew up obese all that same old same story you’ve heard a million times. Most of my weight loss was on a shitty diet. It doesnt matter. Its calories in, calories out. Now, you should really eat a good and healthy dont for reasons more important than weight loss.
@@appleipodtouch2g Of cause conservation of energy is still happening but not in the way you're pointing it out right now. Energy output > Energy input -->weight loss That's definitely true. The problem is that the energy input is not equivalent to what you put in your mouth everyday. You lose energy on various parts of the digestion. What Dr. Berg wants to point out is that different micronutrients don't all get metabolized with the same effectiveness. Just take a look at thermal effect of food. To sum this up: Weight loss occurs when Energy Out > Energy In, BUT Energy of what you eat (Calories of that food) > Energy in (what your body is able to absorb)
Lennart Busch Dude you literaly just explained exactly what im talking about THATS the law of conservation of energy.... im not sure how what you said at all contest what im saying..... a calorie..... is..... a fucking calorie
I’m a physique competitor (Natural) and let me tell you, every single time lowering your calories does work. I cut weight 1-2 times a year for my competitions and both times I lower my calories, hit my macros, and the weight/fat goes away every single time! My coach is 53 and he competes still and he 100% just lowers his calories and hits his macros too 😂 I start out around 220-230g of protein 310-320g of carbs and 75g of fat. And whenever my weight/fat loss stalls I lower the carbs only and I continue to lose again. I’m not saying Dr is wrong I just don’t think this applies to the general population, all my friends/competitors all just lower calories and hit macros when it’s time to shred
Also, a carb is just a carb, ive done both eating only good carbs during a cut and then I’ve done a cut where I eat any carbs as long as it fits my macros and the results are very similar. No lie my physique was better when I ate any carb I wanted because my sanity stayed intact. I wasn’t looking for cheat meals or binge eating because I was able to fit treats/sugar/“bad” carbs into my everyday diet. COUNT YOUR CALORIES AND MACROS ACCURATELY(every single calorie that you consume) AND YOU WILL LOSE FAT.
I will say that from a health standpoint obviously the docs recommendation is probably a lot better for you but from a physique standpoint just count your calories and macros. You don’t have to trust me but I pushed my body way past I thought I could and looked so much better than I thought I could haha
I'm 64 lost 50lbs, 10" off my belly, my BP and Blood sugars down to normal (I am Off All Meds) The first month is a little rough but now it is easy... I have rules, #1
Calorie deficit made me plateau. I had to repair me metabolism by increasing my calorie intake and stopped intense exercising for a month. Now I'm working on building muscle to increase my metabolic rate and keeping my calorie intake at 2,000-2,300 of healthy foods. All food kinds, not restricting what my body is craving. Craving sugar, go for an apple, craving bread, go for whole grain. Listen to your body, it knows what nutrient it's lacking
Eduardo Rodriguez oh really ? U understood everything ? Ok answer this smart guy. My maintenance cal 2500. Now I am in a keto diet and daily consume 5000 cal. Will I lose weight or gain after a couple of months. When I say keto = extreme low carbs. Keep tat in mind.
Thank you.. people think they’re in a deficit and their not. Then they say stupid stuff like “calories in and out doesn’t work” yes It does.. read a nutrition label and buy a scale. People that follow dr berg are like the flat earthers of the fitness industry
Spot on. People don't weigh their food and account for everything they eat. Calories in will always equal calories out. Cant change the law of thermodynamics

I reduced my calorie in take to 500-800 a day and lost 8kg by fasting really fast than for 2 weeks I ate a normal amount of calories but still fasting and I managed not to put the weight back , thus it works
Ohhh so glad I found ur comment because I’ve been concerned about not getting enough calories... on keto my appetite goes down and when I finally eat my one meal a day I get stuffed so quickly and end up at 500-700 Cals a day. Yikes 😬 😱 I reeeealllly don’t want to bust up my metabolism 🤔 I’m too full and don’t feel like eating and then after a couple days started feeling not quite satisfied or my hands get tingling or slightly light headed, but still not in the mood to eat. Can I ask if u managed to keep the weight off??
That's very low amount of calories, yeah sure u lost 8kg but probably 3-4kg was water.. which as u said u didn't gain back because u didn't eat alot of carbs (carbs are cause of water weight) and u lost 8 kg of weight? How much of that was fat loss and how much muscles loss? Probably mostly u lost muscle and only lost about 1kg of fat at max.
Dr. I fast for 16 hours a day. My first meal is at 4:30 and it consists of 20g of organic plant based protein, 5 whole eggs, 1 tablespoons of organic coconut oils and 7 cups of organic spinach. And my second meal is around 10:30p.m. and it consists of 4 beef burgers(75%lean-25%fat) half a cup of sour kraut, 4 Brazil nuts and 20g of organic plant based protein with 3 cups of organic spinach and 2 table spoons of butter..........will you say that this is a good diet? @@lowkeyben9386 Funny thing is that fat is more likely to be stored as body fat than carbohydrates. It simply makes more sense for body to do that as it is more efficient than de novo lipogenesis.
Michal Wozniak - Wrong, guess again. If you eat fat, you will burn it. If you eat carbs, they will be quickly converted to sugar and that is crammed into the cells and fat burning is completely shut off. Impossible in fact, until insulin goes down, and if you eat carbs all day, it doesn’t go down long enough to allow any fat burning, most of the time. This is what you get when you eat junk like cereal all the time.
i always watch videos of dr. berg thats why i understand all of this and now i am just finished my firat week under keto diet. and i feel great! i eat 11 am then 6 pm. no snack in betweens. and i never feel full and great ever in my life. thanks doc. love from the philippines
Food labels and exercise trackers have us believe they are accurate to 1kCal. They are not. They can be off by 10-15-20% or more. And we're not yet taking into account how each body can respond entirely different to the same diet. Instead of reducing weight loss to the formula calories in - calories out = weight gain/loss, we should tell people to eat a healthy diet with plenty of vegetables, some lean proteins, some fat, and a tightly controlled amount of starch/sugar and to adjust according to their results. Also, please stop weighing yourself every day. There will always be day-to-day fluctuations; you can only tell a real difference after a couple of weeks.
Pieter-Jan false. Well kind of. Our body metabolises food different not all of it gets metabolized that number on a label isnt the amount of calories it contains its an estimation as to how much your body metabolises
Thanks for bringing up the part at the end about as we get older things change, I'm 50 and you are so right about weight loss being much harder than it was 20 or 30 years ago. I'm averaging about 1 lb weight loss per week but many years ago I would do the exact same thing and lose 3 or 4 lb per week. I lose weight easier when i watch my calories. If i dont then i often eat more than i realize.
I bought that first Dr. Atkins diet book back in the early 80’s so geez that is over 35 years ago. I liked the concept and was maybe 210 lbs at the time lost 30 lbs in a couple of months and gradually put it all back on but it took about 20 years so who knows maybe instead of going from 210 to 185 i would without Atkins gone from 210 to 225 or whatever so even though put the weight back still was probably better. One of the things i remember from that book was he would detail specific problems people might have losing that last few lbs and he would have those people go on his macadamia nut/cream cheese diet LOL do not recall as to was that the only food you coul;d eat but now see he was emphasizing high fat vs protein. Sounds like the beginning of Keto there. Anyway without following any one diet after i retired and simply watched my carbs and went for a 3 or 4 mile walk every day so went from the 210 to 172 in about. 1.5 years still at that weight 10 years later. Carbs say no more than 80 a day but have had , for example, 1x a month fries with my McDouble than just wal a little more the next day
Me tooo on keto my appetite goes down and when I finally eat my one meal a day I get stuffed so quickly and end up at 500-700 Cals a day. Yikes 😬 😱 I reeeealllly don’t want to bust up my metabolism 🤔
This is not true..I stopped doing keto and started counting calories. So far I lost over 15lbs in 4 weeks. I eat whatever I want as long as it's within my calorie allowance and I'm getting the best results!
i lost 24kg in 6 months with no exercise and just calorie deficit .. what i can do better is just avoid sugars? (not carbs in general, just the sugary ones)
can this industry please make up its fucking mind! I watch a video saying this is the right way to do it and you should follow it, then I watch another video which basically says that the video I just watched is completely wrong and that you should do it this way instead, is absolutely ridiculous.
let me ask you this ... imagine, you are in a desert, no food, only water in your back pack, and then you ll have to walk many hours daily, say for the next 7 days, to reach the next place that provides you with calories, what do you think will have happened to your bodyfat when you have reached that destination taking into account that water doesnt supply you with any energy ... what do you think the body will do to provide itself with the energy to walk that distance ... what do you think matters calories (energy) or not when it comes to losing weight? ...
Best video you have made. This finally explains to me is exactly why my fitness coach's nutrition plan worked so well and i dropped weight no problem and added bonus healed me from early stage endometriosis.

@@gore-geousmombie4686 when you don't eat your body gets tired, you stop moving and therefore stop burning calories. That is why if you don't eat you may not lose weight. If you were able to stop eating, start losing weight and even though you're tired continue to fight through it You would continue losing weight.

I've tried to watch videos like these to inform myself better to be able to help my mom, she can't physically do exercise, she's 59 and chubby, and i hoped i could figure out a method of nutrition that would help her lose weight, because she doesn't want to get heavier and she eats just a bit at every meal. But i feel incapable now, and I'm afraid that if i take her to a nutritionist, the guy or lady will be ignorant or not clever enough, and I'm afraid it could tell her so much BS that she might feel like it's not worth it. This man explains everything very well, but most "experts" just tell people "don't eat this, don't eat that".
This video is made to explain that "a bit at every meal" does not equal weight lose. Try to make her meals "keto". Moderate protein, high fat and fibers from vegetables. I know that isn't enough. But keto helped my 47 y.o aunt to lose 22lbs in one month.
High protein, lots of vegetables, lots of water and low sugar..... and she had to WALK. Make her walk every day. Let her listen to music on her phone when she walks. She’ll lose weight.Anybody can do this.
@Riffs From The Abyss 666 incorrect, it’s still 1500 calories. It simply means that your calorie consumption will increase by 9 with each gram of fat and 4 with protein and carbs. :)
@@timefficient If it's 1500 calories total, that's the total! You don't multiply it by anything. Fat is more calorically dense so contains more calories as mentioned. But a total of 1500 is exactly that, 1500
@Skiddins that’s what I was saying... as I said “it’s still 1500 calories.” Tell me- how do you count your calories without multiplying the amount of macros? You must be very reliant on food labels 🤦🏻♂️ If you know anything about calories than you would’ve just agreed with me.
The biggest problem when people say that they eat small meals and low callorie, is that they actually do not eat that, people that do not track their calorie intake strictly, will always over eat when they feel the sugar rush or hunger. Been cutting and bodybuilding for 10 years now, And altho i do not need as many calories now as i did when i was 20, i still loose weight when i shed my calories by 500 of my maintanance. And i have done everything, Fasting, low carb high carb. 7 meals 2 meals. and i always get my result, because i track my calories to the point. But your regular joe that does not do this, will say they eat less but will prob binge on something after a while and ruin it all. I agree on the hormones thing tho, and it gets harder when you age. but insulin can only block so much when you constantly are in a deficit. you will lose weight
You have to try this out for yourself to understand how it works. I consider myself to be a fairly active person, but ever since I hit the big four-oh, I started experiencing weight gain associated with a slower metabolic rate. This tipped the scales in my favor once again and *weight loss green store tea* helped me burn calories at an even faster rate!
Every time I cut calories, I lost weight. Every time, no matter what I ate. When I quit counting, and started taking in too many calories, I gained weight. It’s been cut and dry for me. I really like this guy, he’s very smart but waaaay over thinking and anylizing this for the simple lay person
Based on your comment, I'm assuming you're probably below 30 yrs old. If you can lose weight that quick, that means you're still young, have a higher metabolism and fairly have an active life. As simple as that. For older people in general, 30 and above, it's the opposite and involves a great deal of physical activity to greatly lose weight especially having stress from work and personal life. It's really not overthinking. He is explaining it thoroughly so we can understand why it's hard to lose weight as we age. You'll probably understand what he is talking about when you get a bit older and notice your metabolism is not high as it used to be.
I only eat instant carbs like 2-3 bananas post workout when I've got headache from the high intensity of the training, it helps. Already lost almost 3 kg in just 2 weeks from abstaining myself from sugar and carbs for the rest of it while only relying on dietary fats and reserve fats for energy. I do 16-8 IF nowadays, since being constantly in calorie deficit without getting hungry is super relaxing for my sedentary life.
Calorie restriction for weight loss and nutrition are separate. Eat calories, lose weight. That is the first rule, then you can sort the nutrition out.
Good presentation.. Saturated and Monounsaturated fats are healthy because they bypass the liver, bile and small intestine. They are short-medium chain tryglycerides with weak bonds. They are an awesome fuel source for athletes. POLYUNSATURATED and TRANS fats however, have "many" double bonds in the carbon atoms which require lots of bile and will stress out your liver in large amounts. The best fats are Olive Oil(unheated/ heat makes it very toxic), Lard, Grass fed butter, coconut oil(unhydrogenated), palm oil(unhydrogenated), Beef Tallow.... By the way Chicken fat is high in polyunsaturated so watch out. There is a myth that Canola oil is bad for you which is absurd because it is highly monounsaturated, I still don't like the flavor and their are better flavored fats. Polyunsaturated fats are pretty much polymers and will block absorption of nutrients in the gut so watch out.
In summary calories can’t be an issue unless you have an endless stomach and or you’re losing muscle, eat good food until sweetly satisfied, make sure you get your necessary nutrients and don’t eat high sugar/bad carbs(crackers, cake and whatnot)
Carbs will not turn into fat depending on their glycemic index i did keto before and sometimes really high glycemic carbs can be good for u when u are Tired or u do a long run,any kind of sport they help u replenish ur glycogen fast and bring Thé energy back :)
It doesn't really matter what someone's metabolism is. Like put a 400lb woman on 500kcal a day I promise she will lose weight. All these people who say they hardly eat but they aren't losing weight are snacking a lot and lying about how much they actually eat. It's literally not possible to keep or gain weight whilst eating in a caloric deficit. Even with a slow metabolism it's possible to reduce calories to lose weight. It's literally impossible to keep your weight or keep gaining weight if you don't eat any food.
When someone says to me everything in moderation, especially with alcohol, I say would you smoke in moderation? Would you do heroin in moderation? Shuts them up pretty quickly. lol I’m losing 2 pounds a week 32 pounds gone now listening to you Dr Berg
Problem is that everybody's idea of "moderation" is different. I do agree wholeheartedly that there is no such thing as "moderate"when it comes to alcohol and smoking. I hate it when smokers use the excuse that they can't or don't want to quit smoking because they don't want to gain weight!
I actually hear things like "recommended daily alcohol intake" which baffles me. Maybe they mean red wine, which has health benefits when taken in moderation?
Thank you Dr Berg for your information. It’s very educational. I wonder if you have information for teenagers (15-18) who are too slim and want to gain weight and build muscles in a healthy way?!? Thank you again for your valuable educational information to our people! Vicky R.
I was in caloric deficit (around 4000 kCals/week) for maybe last 6 weeks straigth and I lost a very little weight (maybe a 1Kg in total) thats much less that math would suggest. But it's true that I focused mostly on calories and not actual nutrients. Only after I found these videos and I went on keto I managed to move my weight loss forward. Today I trully believe that for some people keto is the only way to lose body fat. Note that this happened to my after I already lost about 12 Kg with diet and exercise (during a course of year) but then I hit this plateau still at 21% body fat. I am 28.
Totally wrong and or misleading title. If you are in a caloric deficit (consuming less calories than you are using) you WILL, WITHOUT A DOUBT lose weight.
Some people are just fat on whatever they eat no matter the quantity... no luck here loosing weight ☹️ I’ve only had success with a lot of working out and low cal. I’ve tried keto, I’ve tried intermittent fasting for 3 months... I’m up 5 pounds... I guess it doesn’t work for everyone... I think I’ll go back to my oatmeal breakfast.
Ultimately calories in calories out does matter. But of course it's not quite that simple. I gave up bread because of heartburn. I gave up sugar because I was pre diabetic. I try to eat a balanced diet. I usually walk/jog about 5 miles per day and do not exceed 1600 calories. I base everything on my BMR which is 1550 calories per day. I'm 57 and have been at this for 9.5 months and have lost 115 pounds. From 273 to 158 pounds. We can all make changes but it takes work.
I'm having a hard time hitting just 1000 calories, but my macros are within the suggested range. I feel too full to eat another bite at a meal...I hope I lose weight. I have 34% body fat!!! Just 1st week. My goal date to adapt to this eating lifestyle and lower my fat is my 47th birthday in October :)
I'm a large, muscular male who technically should be eating around 2,700 calories per day. However, I am only eating between 1,000 and 1,500 calories per day to drop weight, but I am trying to do it right by getting about 40% of my calories from animal protein and 60% from fat. So far it is working perfectly. I am shedding fat quickly while maintaining my muscle. In fact I am becoming more muscular. So far I have lost 50 lbs in 4 months. I have another 20 lbs to go. When I reach my goal weight I will increase my fat to arrive at 2,700 calories (to maintain my goal weight) but I will not increase my protein because I don't need to. You can only utilize so much protein for muscle maintenance. Excess protein will be wasted and/or stored as fat. At my goal weight I will possibly introduce a small amount of complex carbs for their nutrients. This is how you do it. (Former multiple 1st place physique contest winner.) I am not working out at all. I thought I would try to manage my weight through diet alone and not try to use exercise as a crutch. I will work out when I reach my goal weight.
that's great. I'm having less than 1000 calories in a day and will be having them for a couple of weeks, protein scoop and 6 eggs in a day with apple and oats seems good? I'm hoping to lose 8kgs ( 20 pounds ) in 2 weeks with this!
Hans Zarkov For me it's more about weight loss now that I've gained enough muscle so that my bf% goes low and my muscles start showing. Anyway how was your experience?
Dream Scorcher I'm still chugging away. I'm doing primary a keto diet but with higher protein. So I'm not eating any carbs. Maybe less than 20 grams. I like the diet because the higher than normal fat has reduced my appetite to pretty much nothing. It is the easiest diet I've ever tried.
I do believe this is true and it complicates the weight loss process. The sad thing is U.S. food choices may actually have to change and evolve to keep up. For now though a lot of folks aren't going to loose so fast with this type of detail in the mix.
I was consuming 1500 calories a day with a bmr of 1970 and at times ended up gaining weight, with 180g protein 50g carbs and under 30g of fat. HIIT 4 times a week. Weight train 5 times a week, and soccer 2 times a week. So to everyone with the calories in vs calories out, everyone is different, some people are insulin sensitive some of resistant.
Ivan Ramirez I used to say the same thing but you are wrong. Remember adding the creamer to your coffee can easily add and extra 150 calories alone. A piece of cheese? 150. Couple crackers? 150. Hell my breakfast sandwich has 450 calories in ONE meal. Plus coffee with coffee mate and your already at 500. Two more of those sandwiches and your at 1500. That’s no food at all. You are eating more than you think you are which is keeping you at a small deficit. Period
No i think he counts his calories perfectly right. I think the caloric deficit slowed his metabolism and on top of that, he increased his cortisol (fat making hormone) and insulin also fat making hormone. These 2 hormones still exists even if you go on caloric deficit diet. The fastest way to burn fat is to lower insulin. Insulin makes fat in the body and determines if you burn. Before you go bezerk on me, im not making this up. It says in the textbook of medical physiology. If you want evidence, i can happily share this book with you, over 1000 pages about how the body works.
GO3sLOW6Pk Yes thank you for the biology lesson but we all know that. There is not a single piece of medical literature that proves metabolic damage is real. If you are fat and are eating less you WILL lose weight. Your body can’t go Hmm don’t feel like running today so I’ll just stop your heart because your eating less. Every group of people who are put in a caloric deficit accurately lose weight. Maybe tell the Jews in the concentration camps about metabolic damage.
GO3sLOW6Pk Now there is such a thing as muscle loss which makes you burn less calories than you are with it and if your calorie intake is too low it can cause muscle loss. Also the smaller you are the less calories you burn doing the same previous activities. So if you were 230 pounds and losing weight at 2000 calories you need to go down to 1800. This is obvious though and again people don’t accurately count calories
I’ve been on Keto for a month and have only lost 2 pounds and I will be 30 in January. I was doing calorie restriction prior at about 1600 calories and I’ve been eating between 1400-2000 depending on the day should I calorie restrict on Keto ? Very discouraging I’ve lost so little compared to other people my goal is 20 pounds lost
Calories still count in keto, but mainly you need to keep protein in the level that you wont get gluconeogenesis and try to change fat amount until you see weight loss result. BTW anaerobic exercises are bad with using ketones, so you should have some carbs right before your workout, or if you into ketosis for a long time, try carb days, they help too REPLY
1 calorie can be defined as the amount of heat energy required to warm up 1 gram of water from 14.5 to 15.5 degrees Celsius, which would be approximately the same as 4.2 Joules
Thank you for this very informative video. Now I know how to lose my few extra pounds in an efficient and healthy way. I'm free from counting calories and happier than ever
@@eytharburhan8869 im from Malaysia Ive really bad metabolism too ! Im still going I went from 120kg to today 77kg n im not givin up ! You got this ! I believe in you ! U can do it too :D
Hi Dr. Eric.. I need to ask one question.. Does ketosis is the only way for weightloss? I mean what about low carb diet with daily exercise? Please also discuss the alternative ways of weight loss in healthy way.
Eat enough whole unprocessed food, avoid sugars (accept in pwm if you are not keto dieting), do weightlifting and moderate cardio, have 2 grams of protein per kg of bodymass and you will lose weight. And avoid consuming whey with fats because it haves high insulin index.
You need to understand that in ketosis when your body is using ketones excess fat calories will not and can not ever turn into fat. If you over ate protein or over ate the carbs then yes, but your liver breaks the fats down to MCFA and ketones which can not be stored as fat ever
Hi! Doc, I am constantly watching ur videos. Number 1 fan in México. How can I put more weight in without eating sugary processed foods? I want more fat on my body but I eat a clean diet and it's difficult to gain weight.
