Author: Christian Zeitnitz Main features: The PC based Soundcard Oscilloscope receives its data from the Soundcard with 44.1kHz and 16 Bit resolution. The data source can be selected in the Windows mixer (Microphone, Line-In or Wave). The frequency range depends on the sound card, but 20-20000Hz should be possible with all modern cards. The low frequency end is limited by the AC coupling of the line-in signal. Be aware, that most microphone inputs are only mono. The oscilloscope contains in addition a signal generator for 2 channels for sine, square, triangular, sawtooth wave forms and different noise spectra in the frequency range from 0 to 20kHz. The signal can be defined by a mathematical formula as well. The signals are available at the speaker output of the sound card. These can be fed back to the oscilloscope in order to generate Lissajous figures in the x-y mode. A special probe is required so the sound card is not destroyed.

Your graphic was wrong. it said "1 crank revolution" and had arrows pointing right and left, but the area covered by the arrows was TWO CRANK REVOLUTIONS. In the space that your graphic claimed the crank turned once the cam do turns once. This 2 : 1 crank to cam ratio allows the crankshaft to rotate twice raising and lowering the piston the 4 times needed for the 4-stroke combustion process of 1) intake, 2) compression, 3) combustion, & 4)exhaust as the cam rotates once during this same period first opening the intake and then closing both intake and exhaust to achieve compression, then opening the exhaust to clear the cylinder.

Which is it. Crank turn twice for every one turn of cam. Or crank turn once for every turning of cam twice. You practically said both.

You are telling us something that is incorrect. First you show 6 crank teeth and when supposedly the chain was stretched you show 3 teeth. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE The number of teeth per camsignal must stay the same else it would mean the crankshaft slowed down. A stretched belt will show up as a PHASE SHIFT between cam and cranksignal not a changing number of teeth.
