Thats the exact way we installed cam bushings when I was building for the local utility. We machined our drivers on the lathe (same shouldered design) and ran into problems every now and then, but made sure every part turned smoothly by hand before the next parts went in. One other assembly practice was to NEVER beat a gear or damper onto the crankshaft, we made "pushers" to press the pieces into place. Great video, keep them coming.

I watched a pink t/a on beardslee, Bothell wa. Get parked in a front yard of a rental house .Til the city bought the house and land for road improvements. 1987 to around 1999. I was driving by when they parked it. Never moved. Got covered with a blue tarp once.

Great job. Enjoyed. Are you finding issues with the quality of parts, like the camshafts and lifters, these days. I have been hearing so many horror stories over this that it has cause most of the well know, top quality engine shops where I'm at. To close shop or cease building engines for customers.

Glad to get to see this "how it's done" on a 440. I have an old motorhome 440 in a car. Changed cam, shaved & ported heads etc. & it runs real good BUT..the old cam bearings looked kinda rough & the new cam gear (single bolt) turned HARD by hand. Would that cause any real frictional loss (power) ? Thanks
