Made the switch to that same battery about 3 months ago on my 2019 2SS vert, no issues at all and with nearly twice the amount of crank amp power start ups have never been better. They do cost about 3x as much as a lead acid batt but it should also be known that they can last 3x as long or even longer. Compared to how much you can spend on things like carbon fiber for weight reduction, per lbs it's actually cheaper. The key fob or button "jump start" is a really nice feature too. Battery will shut itself off before dying but keep enough power for you to fire it up once you hit the button or fob. Great for cars that are weekenders that suffer a lot of parasitic loss without having to set up a trickle charger. Btw Matt, I know this video was a few a months ago and gyms were still closed but don't let that be an excuse! Use some of those amsol jugs or really anything lying around for weight training in the lethal garage! Repurpose that 50lbs lead acid batt you just took out as a kettle bell! Just had my 16 camaro basically died on me yesterday. Car seems to struggle to turn over and now it will just constantly start but won’t turn over at all. I have led lights in the rear tail lights and the license plate as well. Bought the lights from Phastek if the are the culprit I will be taking them out. The dealer showed me a list of codes and seen the tail lights as well as some other things. Glad you got it fixed

I have those tail lights too and love them. I also have battery problems and met with the company owner ( he lives about 50 miles from me ) and he was really cool replaced them but I'm still having issues. Its a shame cause I really like the looks of them.
Nice! :) It looks like Antigravity batteries are getting very popular. I got one for my bike about 5-6 years ago, and it still works like new. Then I got a newer Antigravity motorcycle battery for my track car (Honda Prelude) and I still can't believe how that tiny 2.9 lb. battery can be stronger than the 40+ lb. lead-acid battery that I had before. Insane! That's why I love Antigravity batteries, and wouldn't use anything else. I have their battery tracker too. Super cool how it sends you status notifications and warnings when the battery is getting low on juice. I also have one of their little power stations for camping. :) Awesome products.
I have been looking for some answer for the electrical issue I have been having with my 2011 Camaro SS. I am at the end of my rope. 4th battery in 5 years. The car only has 24500 miles and it has been at the dealer 2x in the last 3 months. Well, 2k later and the dealer had no problems. The dealer checked for a power draw they could not find and here I am at square 1 again. They had it for 3 weeks the last time and said it started fine for them. I started my car 3 days ago, and today it was dead. 4 days seems a little extreme for a vehicle sitting doing nothing and it only happens when I have it, which is hard to believe. I saw you video and could not help but wonder if this is my issue as well. I have a battery tender and still happens. I mean DEAD. I Love the car and it was a retirement gift to myself, but just cant figure this out. 2011, 2SS/RS Convertible Victory Red, 6 sled manual. Perfect condition.
My car has had many electrical issues (2016 2ss). I thought I had traced it to the tail lights as well, until it died again after they were swapped back to stock and a new battery was installed. Seems like these cars just have a lot of random electric glitches. Massively frustrating
Donovan H when hooked up, I noticed a small amount of flickers faintly on my taillights. Hooked up the meter to show they have a constant draw. It might not be just the taillights, but they are contributing to the issue
LethalGarage if you ever can nail down the issue that be great. I’ll be waiting for that video. I’ve had my car for 3 years and I’m on my 4th battery. It’s been to the dealership several times and they can never find a issue. The most head scratching glitch I’ve had is that the car started up as a “hybrid” on the infotainment. I have photos of that but the dealer just said it’s an anomaly and they can’t find a issue.
Yeah, but no BMS, no protections, no restart, and a shorter warranty. And unprotected lithium batteries are easy to damage by over-discharge. Sometimes, you get what you pay for. :)
I heard that a new class action lawsuit was filed against GM in 2010 - present camaros something about a starter and/ or heat shield defect. is that true please make a video about it
@@Lethalgarage mine does fine normally but does crank slow on cold starts and hot atarts worse. I was running errands in my ZL1 today and within an hour start and stopped the car like 4-5 times. When I got it home in the garage I turned it off then tried to start it again and it wouldnt start. Hooked up my optima charger said battery was at 50% so thats it. Thinking with more CCAs the car will start faster and not crank so slow and have more in reserve whwn Im stopping and starting so many times not giving alt enough time to charge battery.
I'm having the same issues. Changed all 3 tail lights and all marker lights to ghosted LED's. I ordered load equalizers to see if those would help. Haven't installed yet. Was thinking of going back to stock to try that. Has anyone heard if the load equalizers on each light solves the problem of battery drain?
I had the same problem with my 2018 taillights (same lights ) , the dealer had my car in the shop for 4 weeks before they told me it was the lights. Is there a fix for this ?
I regret getting a camaro. I have only 20,000 miles on my 2020 and the battery saver active light keeps coming on. Installed a new battery just 11 months ago. Makes no sense. Car won't even start, i hear one click and then boom nothing. Won't turn on. It was working a week or two ago, would crank up and then when i drove it- parked and tried to turn the car on again it would not start. Let it sit for an hour and a half and it turned on again. Now it wont turn on at all. Battery dies completely and then works again hours later but car still won't start.
In my 2018 Camaro LT the radio shuts off and steering wheel tightens up when I turn I don’t know what’s wrong with it. Does anyone know what could it be?

Matt, have you ever had slow starting when your car is hot. Mine cranks over very slowly if you shut it off for 5 minutes or so then start it again. Starts totally fine when cold.

I too was having battery issues and had my car jumped 4 times in 3 weeks. Purchased a new battery and my son installed it without knowing it needed to be backed up. So I call the tow company for a jumpstart to get me home. It took longer than usual to get her started but once he took the cables off she died and there was no coming back. I had to be put on the flatbed and taken home. Now I don’t get any response from the car. No dashboard, windows are open and won’t close. The battery is good and it will randomly allow me to unlock the door with my fob but everything else is dead. Is this an anti theft issue?? Where do I start?? I literally have watched almost everything I can on this nightmare and still don’t know what to do. Any and all advice would be helpful. I’m trying to avoid the dealer but that’s a whole other story. Thanks for any advice
i have a 2017 ss. it turned off while i was driving like 3xs and yesterday it went out completely. no power. can’t lock door. can’t turn on headlights /hazards.. power is completely out… anyone can shed insight

My dad has a battery tester and fast charger to use the battery tester battery needs to be at 100%. In the battery tester you put some options according to the situation like how many CCA is the battery or if an AGM battery stuff like that. So the battery is 700CCA but the tester reads that it’s only giving 423CCA. A new one it is🫠. Car was dead after 3 days of fully charging the battery😐.

@@clydria9 I bought a battery today and it starts right up even faster than before. Usually batteries go bad after 3-4 years unless you have the tail lights from the video.
I have a 2015 I had the battery charge up at 94% cause it was doing the same it gave me battery saver and I was driving and it would not run. So I charge the at my local auto zone they usually do it free but it dint work at all and they charge it up to 94 % and my camaro still dint rank up what else can do. I guess buy a brand new battery

Matt, you need a deep cycle agm battery. Optima DH6 group 48 AGM, Northstar Group 48 AGM, XS Power D4800 Group 48 AGM. Best AGM batteries that are are deep cycle for cars.
Wait are you saying not those as in don't get those or the lights you had weren't those? I just had a battery problem and just put in the Morimotos about 4 months ago. So I'm trying to find out did the lights cause my issue.
I've wanted to swap out battery, but with having a front heavy car, wouldn't reducing weight from the rear increase the front end bias even more? It's whats kept me from grabbing a lithium battery, but I will say the weight savings is definitely a solid $:loss over a lightweight exhaust. Also.... same battery issue, very frustrating. Car sits on a tender all the time now, and just recently my keys stopped working to open/lock my car. Have to use the app now. 2016 2SS I JUST paid off.. very sad and disappointed.
@bman bizzle it used to die pretty often, couldn't say the frequency, but it was practically every time I went to drive if it sat more than a week or 2. I ended up just keeping it on a low amp tender all the time.
Okay my battery is 3 years old sometimes it starts up fine other times barely starts one time I drive it for 35 mins and shut it off for 2 kins battery completely dead had a jumpstart now it's startin fine again but battery isn't keepin it's charge well do you think I need a new battery?
@bman bizzle does sound reminiscent of a bad battery yes. Before you buy another one though, some places that sell automotive batteries actually have testing equipment that can check to see if your battery is going or not. I'd recommend doing that first! AutoZone does it and I'm sure O'Reilly and all the other big ones do too
I went to auto zone they said it needs charged it was at 65% but I drove for like hr each day last 3 days I think it would be way more charged than that don't You?
Taillights have a constant power flow as designed. But that power flow is under the minimum required to turn the standard bulbs on. If you put LEDs in this gets all thrown off
