Dude your stress test on blades is INSANE...Best Stuff I've EVER Seen because you show what a blade is capable of and for that I COMMEND YOU. Earned yourself a new subscriber...Keep up the Good Work
+g50iceman Thank you ! I am really glad to have friends on my side, and I will continue the stress testing of the blades next year ! Thanks for watching, Merry Christmas :) Mayor Fuglycool
Yes I owen the camillus carnavior x and used it on my moose hunting trip in Maine and even i didn't go through a brik or cinder block or cut wire with the hook. The hook is way better field dressing game and handling fire wood and other tasks at hunting camp I've not making any complaints about it's preformens . My self I'm a veteran and outdoors men and hunter and bush crafter r.stark
+WeAllJuggleKnives Yeah ! My chickens are pretty crazy. They love to follow me around, and of course, be a part of the action . Thanks for watching brother :) Mayor Fuglycool
That's pretty impressive, I got my son one of the early versions of this knife and he managed to break it on a pine knot pretty fast. I felt bad, it was his birthday present. Ended up getting him an old timer bowie instead. Wish they had THIS version available when I bought it.
I picked up a used carnivore X recently, just took it out to the woods and was testing it on pine knots, along with my RMJ inspired homemade tomahawk(not full tang, imitated Contours of the head with Hickory handle). The carnivore didn't last long before it got waves in the edge. The hawk did well and kept an edge but split the handle.
Thank you for getting rid of my fears! I bought the knife knowing nothing about it besides it was a Camillus, I have two of their pocket knives. One was my grandpa's and they stay sharp for a long time. I'd looked at reviews and people said it would break in half on them. Found your video and now I know i'll have this for a very long time. Thanks again!
I really appreciate the great responses, and I do cherish having awesome subscribers like you ! I am really thankful that you loved the brick and cinder challenge, and I will definitely keep those tests in the Mayor's challenge :) Mayor Fuglycool
When you did the pull up test I was hoping for your sake the blade didn't snap, your neck or face might have been cut. Thank you for your testing on all the blades so far, you do valuable work. Just an idea, maybe put a couple of strips of duct tape covering the blade edge and the saw toothed spine...
Wow thank you so much for having the courage to test this new prototype, I bought the same model with the side knife on a whim since I could put use to its multiple applications. As soon as I started reading reviews online I was in despair almost accepting to have to take it back, but since it appeared to be a different model that was talked about I decided to find one on this newer appearance and found your video. Now I can feel confident to take it camping without worrying about wasting money when I could get better.
+Justin Walker I hope you have fun on your camping trip ! I am also glad that I helped you make a great purchase ! Thanks for watching ! Mayor Fuglycool
also thanks for the video the Gerber Strongarm I always thought it was a crappy knife till I saw your video I went and bought it as a gift for my brother-in-law and he really likes it (I don't like giving crappy stuff to people)
I just bought my second Carnivore X. First one was stolen. But I put that thing through absolute hell, never failed me. And it cuts through 4 inch green limbs with one 45 degree chop. Had to get another one, couldn't live without it.
Just received one for my birthday, very anxious to take this camping, maybe even light enough to clip on my pack while hiking. Awesome demonstration of the capabilities of this reasonably priced multipurpose knife.
Im glad I watched this, theres a cinder block down the street thats been talkin junk and Im gonna get one and show him whats up lol, seriously great vid, I like seeing the knife tested, to many guys post "knife review" videos and all they do is show it to you and tell you how neat and cool it is and what it would be good for, when they've never used or tried it for anything
I just picked up this knife on clearence at Walmart for $15. Wish a small test of the multi tool was included. But other then that I enjoyed this review and am glad I ended up with a good knife. Thanks.
+Stody Lee Thanks for watching ! Yeah, I decided to not do the multi tool test, but now that I look back I kinda wish I would have done it. Thanks for the support ! Mayor Fuglycool
Just bought this BEFORE seeing this vid. I CANNOT be more impressed by what you did to test this! I am a (LOOSELY sayin) weekend warrior for camping and wanted this for my collection. Cant wait for spring & summer (in MI) to use this.
I've owned mine for a year now and have hacked through a hard wood table top so I was impressed with that but this video is above and beyond. You show the extremes this blade can handle which at times (.50 ammo can, and pull ups) made me as a blade lover cringe bad. Yet the proofs in the pie, this knife is well worth the cost at the big W store or the online A store.
I love the chicken test, I find it equal to a 1/3" pine dowel wrapped 4 times in duct tape, if it makes it through that, it will make it through a chicken. The problem with chickens is 1. Cutting through the feathers without pulling them out. And 2. Making it all the way through the skin and nerves, if it's dull it will just pull them down into the log without severing them. I personally use a $4 24" Chinese machete that I modified by removing and re-grinding the edge, and making a wood handle.
I just bought this knife at Walmart for $24.99 , before I even seen you test it, I came home and watched Your video before I took it out of the package...great video I'll keep it, thanks Mayor.
The Carvivore XZ is just the newer model. I bought the Carnivore X for $16 cause it didnt come with the smaller knife that was supposed to be with it. The "anti-theft" packaging is what I have to thank for mine. XZ Should hold up the same as the X, just stay away from the one with the rivets, that's the one that'll break in half.
I just picked up one of these andIm impressed. I always do this backward and buy first and then watch reviews. Looks like it was a good choice this time. Thanks Mayor and I hope your staying safe out there.
Great video brother. I am very impressed with that knife. I personally didn't think it was capable of passing your test. It looks flimsy but its alot tougher then I originally thought. Great review.
Those are some pretty good stress and strength tests. I'm glad I bought mine. It served me pretty well so far, it clears just about anything I swing it at.
for one thing the primary use for this is cutting through green limbs and tree branches in the woods. not treated lumber. this blade slides through green wood like butter. same with the saw. it is the best bang for the buck no doubt. thanks for the video.
For sure ! I test the treated lumber, as it is somewhat harder than a standard green limb. I am glad you loved the video, and I hope you check out more videos ! Thanks for watching friend :) Mayor Fuglycool
Great video i would never smash a brick with mine but its nice to see i could if needed to. It's great to see the blade you just bought taken to the limits and pass
I'VE NEVER SEEN A TORTURE TEST LIKE THAT. I WAS CRINGING WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN. HAS ANY OTHER MACHETE PASSED WITH SUCH FLYING COLORS AS THE CARNIVORE X?
+sharkinman Well, the Cold Steel HTC machete did well, and I am planning on an Ontario Machete for next year to test. Thank you for watching my videos, and I really do care for each and every one of my subscribers :) Mayor Fuglycool
Mayor can you answer something about your test reviews on amazon have people claiming loosened handle after his branches broken blades did you feel any loosening of the handle at all?
Mayor as far as the test you do on these knives you are the very best, i watch as many of your videos as i possibly can , if they pass your test you can be 100 percent the knives are not good but great and will last even in a worst case scenario, keep the video comming
I thought for sure it would shatter like the Schrade machete. I'll be getting one of these. Thanks for the great reviews. With so many excellent knives these days, I'm glad you torture them to find out the durability.
I paid $200 for mine and it's been through 2 years and still works fine. I've been homeless living in the woods (solo stealth camp) for over a decade and my carnivore had been my best tool and it's easy to carry and sleep with in my bag.
A Man, Thank you for the Destruction test. I purchased one a while back, It's good to know It should hold up. Thanks again, much Appreciated. : ) Tyler
+Tyler Murphy Yeah no problem friend ! I thank you for watching my videos, and remember to SUBSCRIBE ! Stay Tuned for more Fugly Fun next year ! :) Mayor Fuglycool
+Mayor Fuglycool I have already subscribed and am looking forward to your upcoming video's. I also have an LMF 2 and a cold steel Special Forces shovel, I've watched both of those video's they were also very well done. Your tests are rather extreme which I like, think about getting a full face shield - Kevlar gloves and a thick pair of welding gloves to cover your forearms would be good also be safe and take care, love your vids. : ) Tyler ... put the tip of that thing in a vice, get a new one or your money back ; ) Playboy!.
Love the tests. I just got my Camillus X in on a recommendation and love mine. I got it for bushcraft use and the only thing I dont like is the saw. But for chopping and shavings its great.
Earned yourself a new sub. When I first started watching, I thought you were some kinda wack-job. Not long into the video you earned my respect, as you tested the blade like nobody else does. I have other machetes, but, will be ordering a Carnivore as soon as I finish this comment. I look forward to viewing your other videos. Thanks.
I seen review of earlier camillus knives breaking or chipping while chopping wood. One commenter of another video suggest only, and only, the Carnivore X. Many have said this machete is meant for clearing brush and other small tasks. After what you put it through I will probably get one. However, as you pointed out the vibrations in handle other youtubers said the same.
+49Giants Thanks for watching ! I do have a rifle review coming, and after that I should have another knife review out in early Jan. Glad you enjoyed the tests ! Mayor Fuglycool
Thank you for the wonderful video you put up, I bought my for $12 plus tax at Dirt Cheap, lol. It a very powerful machete as I can see on your video. ☺
+edge4006 Oh jeez, well to be honest the knife actually cut through a layer of leather while I did this test. Surprised me, and I have to be more careful next time. Thanks for watching, and I will see ya at the Firearms Fest :) Mayor Fuglycool
I found the saw to be excellent for cutting brush poles and smaller diameter trees. And i generally try to work within the limitations of the tool. Good review and test. I like it for the price. The small spear blade is a nice addition again for the price though has no real super practical use as a knife. I had my doubts about your methods at the beginning of the video but by the end I find myself hitting subscribe button. Good job. Take care
Oh my god! I understand the importance of the different tests, but as someone who loves my blades, I cringed at whacking at cinder blocks bricks and metal 🤣🤣🤣 ouch!
Would to see you use the Camillus x little knife as a spear, spearing fish an what not. Thank you,I also have one of these knives that I bought from walmart for 29.00 dollars for a birth day gift, and I just love it.
I realize this is an older video, But I just wanted to say after watching a dozen or so videos on this knife, Your testing was by far the best! And yes, I do own one.
+Mayor Fuglycool From what I understand from other packaging that was somewhat more specific, (Camillus Cuda and Camillus Beast), they are referring to the coating of the blade, so it helps it resist scratches and rust but not dents and rolling. I did have the older model Carnivore and it did seem abnormally hard, to the point where it was very difficult to sharpen. I think this was more to do with over hardening because the tang snapped inside the handle after light chopping.
Why do people say don't try this at home for the simplest stupidest things, like I saw a video where a dude was cutting down some brush with a common backyard machete and the dude goes "Don't try this at home" defeating the purpose of a backyard machete
+Zednought Rhino I think those people might be joking . LOL Now I , (not people), say "don't try this at home" when I am busting cinders and steel ammo cans. Thanks for watching friend, and I hope this answers your question ! :) Mayor Fuglycool
Looks alot like the bk3 but with a saw on back, longer, cheaper, and I doubt Ethan Becker had anything to do with it. But mayor I do enjoy your videos. I laugh at the people that don't get it they say why would you do that with a knife. But they don't understand it's not about that it's about seeing how durable it really is! And not to mention there are tons of blades out there that can make it through your test. Keep up the good work good sir and please please please be careful. As you do for the most part
Great video. I don't know why anyone would object to any of your tests. Sometimes you just have to know what kind of hell a knife can take. Though I was kind of hoping you would chop open the handle to see what the full tang looked like. I missed getting the old version of the same design, now I'm glad I held out. Going to grab one from walmart later.
+Jesse Leppert Thanks for watching friend ! Yeah, some people don't like the fact that I break the knife that they own. This version looks like a winner, compared to the older blade. :) Mayor Fuglycool
