Thankfully it was a much drier day, though the forecast was already looking cold and wet for my final day, so I enjoyed this walk as much as I could.

My accommodation in Boente was very nice and clean and with only 7 of us, in the room laid out for 18, it proved to be a relatively quiet night too.

Although the Camino route was busy, it was still nice to see so many faces, hear so many variations in accents and to exchange pleasantries with everyone and anyone who would take the time to chat.

I would admit though, at this point my focus was definitely on Santiago and seeing my wife the next day which, to me at least, trumped completing the Camino.

I returned to Spain in June 2024 with the intention of finally completing the Camino Frances route to Santiago de Compostella.

This final trip would see me continue onwards from Ponferrada, where I ended my walk in August 2023.
