I reckon the forgetfulness was triggered by the 100%-treelessness of the environment, Sam - not a solitary gnarled trunk in sight, anywhere. It's nature's forces telling Highland Woodsman to get back to the cover of leaves and needles 😜, even though from a layman's perspective there's great beauty when the topography is laid bare: it's like seeing the bones of the landscape. Some great footage, especially from the drone flying low-level along the shoreline on day 2. And poor Darach cloaked in midges - another reason to get the hell outta there! Don't let the moodswings allow you to lose sight of all the enjoyment your videos bring - even envy of the man living a very healthy (14.37 - 16.19: must be the pinkest man on RU-vid!) distance from all the sh!t that's spoiling lives for so many of the people on this island. And earning his crust by pursuing his hobby. Didn't know about the new website (black bell duly clicked now & will take a look shortly), but it seems a great idea to be able to follow up Forest Thoughts in more detail. Take care, as many below have already urged, and be mindful of how much your efforts are appreciated.

Where do I begin. First of all… congrats on passing 3k! That’s awesome dude!! I really enjoy your forest talks! Secondly, to err is human. It’s as human as pooping itself and i pooped a few times today. You forgot your stove! No big! My wife and i are parents to a daughter with a severe mental disability of bipolar, depression and anxiety of course. She is a miserable little shit to be around right now and the meds only go so far. She’s 21 so it’s just incredibly hard right now. We’re trying to get her the hell out of the house into some federally assisted living. She’ll never be on her own two feet. She’s too F’d up. She’s the extreme though. For your stuff, all the stuff you’re doing right now…. Hiking, playing with pooch, getting into forest history… that’s all good stuff man! Keep going to the gym! Looks like you lift a lot. That helps! Don’t isolate whatever you do! Stay with people you know and trust. You’re a good dude, man! I think making these vids on the natural history of your homeland is really cool and cathartic! Anyway… that’s all i got… Cheers from New England! It’s like England, only new, so it’s better than England. HA HA HA HA…. IM JUST KIDDING!!! I don’t want to get in trouble. Take care man!! NQU out.

It's good to see you back, such a shame you didn't get to do what you planned. It's very hard when you're so low to do things. I literally say to myself get off your arse and get it done, and yes It's very difficult, I know what it's like I'll leave it there. The video was rather relaxing and not bad at all. I shall definitely check out your website, you have made a start and that's good 😊look after yourself.

Battling depression isn’t easy. Especially on your own. Try to reach out for help. It’s not easy but I believe you will find some comfort. The first step is the hardest but like any journey sometimes getting going is difficult. Thanks for allowing us into your personal space. Thanks.

Sam… thank you again, for an awesome upload, those beach and clouds rolling in shots were phenomenal!! With regards to your mental health, I am sorry that you have no support system around you, to help you through those tough times… I must admit, I became quite teary eyed… listening to you and watching your expressions change a little. The older I have become (I’m just a little older than you) but… I’ve picked up on subtle changes within myself regarding my own emotional well-being/mental health … which I never suffered with before … it can be suffocating… Darach is an amazing companion, and sidekick!! I think you have a heart of gold, Sam, stay awesome!! 🥹♥️

Brilliant video! Very jealous of you getting to camp there. We were there back in October, I've just uploaded a vid of our walk. Your drone footage is stunning, it was really windy when we were there so even though I got my drone out I couldn't get it very high due to the wind. Gutted for you about your gas stove, what a sickner! Anyway, thanks for sharing, really enjoyed watching. You have a new subscriber and I will keep an eye out for more of your vids. Andy

What a truly stunning location. I intend to visit there hopefully in the autumn. Can I say I have tremendous respect for you talking about your experience of depression. I’m currently diagnosed with clinical depression. I’m doing ok at the moment but I can certainly relate to you talking about living in your head and not feeling motivated to do certain things even things you enjoy. I always find it a helpful thing when I hear other people particularly other men being open and honest about their experiences with depression. So thank you so much. And I think this is the second video where I see you’ve forgotten something important….so please, in the future always do a last minute check list of the most important things you need to take as I don’t like myself when I find myself thinking “ you dickhead “ 😂😂😂👍👍 I was absolutely devastated and I’m just watching so I can’t imagine what it must have felt like in reality. So yeah please please do a last minute check each time, Cheers 👍👍

What a beautiful place, and all to yourselves, amazing! I don't know if what I get is depression but sometimes just can't face the world. You're right, other people don't understand. You end up just putting a brave face on and can make you feel worse sometimes. That's why I just keep myself to myself until I feel ready for the rat race again. I've just retired early, can't really afford it but money isn't important,I'll make it work. So much better not having to "be in the world" unless I want to be. I'm sure Darach keeps you going, he's so lovely. I have a rescue dog coming next week, can't wait! Keep the vlogs coming, they're so interesting and thanks for sharing. Take care 💖
