No-See-ums are horrible at times of the year in Nome and Nor Cal river sides . “Avon , Skin so Soft” on the face is a great alternative to Deet products on your face . Most oil based moisturizers will keep the little buggers getting past the oil barrier. If fishing, wash the heck out of your hands . It repels fish too. “Dawn” dish soap, watered down.

As a person living near San Fran where are in a heat advisory, the Alaskan wilderness looks like heaven on earth. Keep up the awesome work. And, take care.

Best tactic for niseums is Crisco shortening. Spread on skin to create a film that they would get stuck, and sfterwards wipe off with paper towel.
