Toyota is known for making practical, comfortable, and easy-to-use cars. The Toyota Corolla and Camry are two such sedans that epitomize these characteristics. But what exactly is the difference between these two Toyota sedans? In this video, Ryan ZumMallen from Edmunds covers what sets the Camry and Corolla apart from each other. This video details the attributes of each sedan and what you should know before you buy. This is a comparison of the Toyota Corolla vs Toyota Camry.
There's a reason the Toyota Corolla is a go-to for first-time car buyers. With a long list of standard safety features, good EPA-estimated fuel economy, and a comfortable ride, the Corolla checks off all the boxes for shoppers looking for their first car. For the 2020 model year, Toyota took it one step further by giving the Corolla a full redesign. With a sharp new exterior look and an updated, modern, and roomy cabin, the 2020 Corolla is an excellent choice for buyers looking for a small sedan that won't break the bank.
The Toyota Camry is like the Corolla's big brother. It has a lot of the same features, but it's a little bigger than the Corolla. A roomy cabin, plenty of trunk space, a comfortable ride, and high crash test safety scores are all the qualities you should expect from this popular midsize sedan. Toyota gave the Camry a redesign a few years ago, but the 2020 model did receive a few notable additions. First is the return of optional all-wheel drive, which has not been available on Camrys since the early 1990s. The second is standard Android Auto smartphone integration to go along with Apple CarPlay introduced the previous year. When compared to the Corolla, the 2020 Camry is a great choice for shoppers looking for a little more space and a more dynamic driving experience.
Toyota sedans appeal to a variety of people for a variety of reasons. They won't break the bank, and they can pretty much do everything and go anywhere and not eat up a ton of gas doing it. You'd be hard-pressed to make a bad choice between the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Camry. But which is the right choice for your next purchase? The Corolla, with its great price and comfortable ride? Or the bigger, more versatile Camry that does just about everything right? It's a tough choice, but we're here to help. This is a comparison of the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry.

I am a mother of two young drivers. I bought corollas for my kiddos! My daughter who is very simple still drives her 2006 Corolla. Low maintenance cost highly reliable. She is not interested in buying a new car. She loves her first car that she drives now. My husband bought another 2018 Corolla in preparation for giving it to our son for his senior year in high school. I got Hyundai Elantra for myself. 2018, engine stalled us in 2019 si verdict was to replace the engine. I changed that to model 2020. I give chance to Hyundai. This time major issue again encountered. They needed to replace the transmission. I am planning to change that car again to Camry. With my experiences with Toyota corollas, low maintenance, low gas consumption, I will stick to Toyota. I LOVE TOYOTA! Thanks for your review.

I recently switched from a 2017 Corolla LE to a 2021 Camry SE. Both vehicles obviously have their pros and cons. If you're interested in a Corolla they have excellent fuel economy and they're great for single rider's. However they're not exactly the best vehicles for winter weather or even rainy weather. They're not exactly the greatest when it comes to bad weather. The Camry on the other hand has more options, especially when it comes to different models and you can get FWD or AWD, unlike the Corolla which only comes with FWD. I've been so unbelievably satisfied with my Camry. The AWD system works great and she runs nice and smooth. I loved my Corolla, but I'm absolutely head over heals for my Camry.

For all the people who say their Corolla is not good in snow and rain: I have a 2015 Corolla S Plus. It is my first car and I live in NJ, so I watched some RU-vid videos on winter driving to be prepared. The sum total of my video watching and direct experience is if you are stuck or slow to start in the snow, turn off the traction control if you have the button (mine is near the cup holders) and shimmy the wheel until you get traction (though I seldom need to do that part.) Then turn traction control back on once you get going. I am an Uber driver and have driven in many snowstorms like this. I specifically chose the Corolla because of its reliability and performance in snow. My aunt, a lifelong Jersey girl, had a 1990 L and 2004 S and always lived in remote areas that were slow to get plowed, and she always told me there’s just nothing better than a Corolla for driving in snow. It can be done. Like I said I do it every winter with all season tires.

I have the 2022 Toyota Corolla SE and I have Apple Car Play, I have a backup camera, I have sports features I don’t use, I get 37 MPG, I have cloth seats, I don’t have heated seats, the heat kicks in immediately, it’s good in the winter, I like the digital dashboard telling me exactly how much gas I have left… I wish I had heated seats and leather seats, I wish I had a center console… My brother is like 6’4” and fits comfortably in my car. It doesn’t have much backseat foot room, but I don’t sit in the backseat or really use the backseat, so I don’t care. I kind of wish I had more trunk space. My last 2 vehicles were a Beetle and a Jeep, so I’m used to more of a hatchback situation. I like how it beeps if I’m close to something and it tells me if the roads are icy. I got a chip in my windshield and it cracked and was extremely expensive to replace because of the computer stuff in the car. I want a Camry. The car salesman said the Camry was a lot more money and the only difference was a bigger backseat, so I went with the Corolla. I don’t know what Nightshade and sports edition mean, but it’s been a nice car for me. It has an automatic emergency brake. It brakes quickly. I probably should replace the windshield wipers. It came with rubbery floor mats, so it stays fairly clean. I don’t think it has mirror defrost but the rear windshield defrosts quickly. I put 18,000 miles on it in 2 years. It’s been a great car for me. Mine’s blue and it sparkles when the sun hits it and it looks glossy after a car wash. It’s a beautiful car. I don’t know why it plays random songs from my iTunes full blast sometimes when I plug my car in. That’s annoying. I really like telling Siri to call and text and having directions read aloud by Siri and my backup camera is my bestie.

Corolla: hip, tasteful styling for the swinging single commuter who is frugal,, has occasional guest passengers (and hates the dumpy family/kids/dog vibe of a crosdover/SUV) Camry: super capable sedan that can be fitted to be a value oriented hybrid family sedan to a sporty sedan, with room, comfort and solid performance. My wife and I bought a Corolla and loved it, except for one thing that prompted us to finally sell it: It was terrible in the snow and even rain. At times this was dangerous. E.g. our on-ramp to a local state route (Rte 9 in MA) has a slight up-hill slope. And I really mean slight. As it is a busy road, we often had to wait for that moment when we would hit the pedal to the metal and go for it to merge into traffic. And the tires would spin a few times on the wet pavement. Yes, we tried a few different tires, finally finding some winter tires that worked great. But, eventually my wife got a flat tire; tried to buy a replacement tire, and the tire store refused to sell her a winter tire in the summer. That’s when we decided to sell the car and find something else. (Her new car is a Subaru.) I’ve never seen any review that mentioned this issue. Of course, most reviews show people driving on sunny days. But, I can’t believe we were the only people who found the car was terrible in rain and snow.

I test drove both 2020 camry and 2020 corolla didn't like the camry in traffic so I bought the 2020 corolla and I love it,I think this car is my first choice I went from a 96 toyota corolla dx 1.8 5speed that car was my 2nd choice on all the cars I've had in the past and anyone worried about the cvt transmission don't worry there rock solid if you get the transmission serviced every 60,000 miles the main for upgrade I changed jobs and was tried of bumper to bumper traffic the guy I sold my 96 corolla to loves it

The old corolla was only a 1.4 engine, now you tell us the 1.8 is not very quick, I had a 1.8 Avensis and the 1.8 Corolla is much quicker. When overtaking it accelerates very well because it temporarily uses the electric motor to assist the engine

I have both! But my Camry is a 2018 XSE V6, which I love very much, the corolla is the 2020 grey nigh shade SE model, Since am not looking for “racing car” these two will do just fine, if I want a little speed I have my 2007 Honda Repsol 1000cc edition, I won’t change reliability for a 2.0 turbo charge engine.

@alfredonarroyo
@alfredonarroyo 2 года назад
@@lilyofthevalley4740 I am sorry that I am answering till now, yes! But both cars are awesome, I like the power of the V6 in the Camry and the soft riding of the Corolla. Although the Camry, being the top of the trim, has more technology and more safety gadgets.

@lilyofthevalley4740 2 года назад
@@alfredonarroyo thanks for replying. I'm glad you love both cars. Soft riding..that sounds good. Maybe I need to look at the SE model as I found the regular model uncomfortable on the seats (not great for the back and neck)..
@alfredonarroyo
@alfredonarroyo 2 года назад
@@lilyofthevalley4740 mine is the SE night shade, and somehow the position of the seat of the corolla is more comfortable than the Camry, specially because the sport tune suspension of the XSE V6, I always drive big trucks before, but I don’t miss them, we’ll when I need to haul something, otherwise am happy with my two cars, the corolla is my work commute and the Camry my pleasure car.

Sedan-wise, the Corolla is sportier looking than the Camry (except for the Camry XSE TRD), and it has always been that way for years. The current Camry looks so dated. Regarding the Camry, Toyota needs to take styling cues from Honda, Hyundai and Kia.

If u switch from a Camry to Corolla or vise versa you’ll be wasting your money lol. These cars are basically the same idk why theres such a rivalry between them. Only real differences is the Camry’s engine is a little more powerful and it’s got more tech shit and the Corollas got better milage.

That I agree with you, I use Bluetooth even though my phone is android. Mine its a 2020 corolla LE and this particular one didn't come with Android auto for that year but it does exist in 21 and 22. Even though I got no android auto.. my android phone still works and depending how one sets up the infotainment system, my android works flawlessly as long as you have toyota app Bluetooth at all times and as for GPS I do use scout gps that came with toyota but for it to make it work or know it will work perfectly, just make sure the scout app is set up on a one touch button on infotainment and normally on there it will tell you right away if it's working or not.
