Good build man. Those FPCycle motors are neat. Anything that makes flying quieter and more friendly while still feeling great to freestyle, is a win.

Question: Is that motor KV too high to run that off a 2s if you wanted to?

yo Bacon Ninja, I was psyched to come across this vid today! That thing really rips! I been working on a second build on this frame very similar to yours. My first one was swapping the components over from one of my SavageBee 1S for the purpose of being able to more easily mount Go2 and/or Thumb Pro on that top plate since I haven't found good alternatives for the Goober canopy (other than zip ties!). The second build (not in the air yet) will use HappyModel 1202.5 11500KV. motors, also to the Darwin FC. I was considering those 13mm FPVCycle motors, but went with the 1202.5 for a slight weight savings. Who knows if the difference will be perceptible? Bummer to hear about the grain issue with the Ant Nano, because that's my go-to camera for these builds as well. It has served me well on the SavageBee. I wired the Thumb Pro directly to the BeeBrain V1 FC on the first build, and while it did work fine, my flight times were cut in half at least, so I think I'll stick to the Go2 on these micros for now. I live in a city and it's hard to find places to fly with larger noisier quads, so my draw to these 1S rigs has always been how quiet they are. Anyway, cool to find someone else doing a similar build, and to see your experiences with it. Keep on flying, brother!

Veeery interesting! Can this build carry insta360 or thumb or smtn similar? Or i should switch to 2s? Or/and maybe different motors? Give a advice please.

Thanks for sharing The noise in Ant camera is not from flight computer regulator, I have the same FC and caddx ant and on 1s the image is more clear than on 2 s. The image from and on my setup on 1s is clear.

before soldering tiny stuff i always grab a bike light pcb or something that is simple works and is not missed when you do fuckup and just practice the calm needed to get to the fiddly bits :P but yeh you need either experience or some good zen to pull those tiny solderpoints off without messing up looks like a fun built specs kinda feel like what the eachine novice 2 (my starter) could have been :P

I just finished the standard babytooth build (ant, crossfire, unify nano, bob's latest 1s board and motors, etc). Holy wtf super fiddly to build this thing. The soldering is an issue, but more of an issue is getting all the components to fold up and stack up nicely in that sandwich under the pod. I managed to get everything sorted, got it bound, SA working, etc - let it sit for 2 weeks due to life - now it's lost bind on crossfire and I can't even be bothered to dig out the rx to reach the damn bind button. While initially I was thinking your freestyle take on this isn't anything but aesthetics and wouldn't really affect flight performance, I do see there being a lot more room to actually lay out components in a rational way. I'm probably going to let this fiddly thing sit a while longer till the whoop lite kit comes out, and may also swap to an AIO with an SPI based ELRSrx as well just to bring the fiddle down to a manageable volume in this orchestra of chaos. I also feel like I'm going to destroy the motors every time I remove or replace the props. If you're running 4.3 that CLI dump would be nice as well - I've not yet found a preset for a 1s toothpick I trust on 4.3 and have no idea where to start with tuning on these things (but I really do want to get one up in the air).

I built a 2s on that frame. Used the hx115lr V2 fc, flywoo 600mw vtx, and rcinpower 5000kv motors. Thing is fun to fly and pretty quiet.

I am a huge fan of thius kind of drones. Keep on doing 1s videos! I would like to have a 1s 3" freestyle drone which is a little bit lighter than this. edit: Damn, the frame is not available...

I’ve always eyed up that frame but figured the LR frame wasn’t going to fly fun for me (pun intended). Now I’m like 🤔. Maybe a x12 + 2S and 11000kv motors seems enticing for this frame. Would you do lower KV with 2S than 11000kv? I’d like something a micro that can do building dives 😅.

60 gr seems a lot for these 13 mm. Im at 42 gr with the baby tooth 1.5 mm frame and handles amazing. However, your build seems more than appropriate for freestyle. Congrats
