You can, but just on paper! They will never trust each other and that fear will ALWAYS be there. Either 1 of them would cheat again, or they'd split from the overwhelming trust issues. A relationship is built on trust, it cannot blossom in cheating relationships where there aren't any!

But you replace your spouse with your affair partner and ultimately after divorcing the person you became an adult with, you marry the affair person a little over a year after the divorce is final. Why can’t you be the same person who gave unconditionally? The world is your oyster. Learn from the mistakes of your past, have stronger boundaries and find someone who likes you for you. I’ve begun to start dating other guys and moving on with my life. I wish him well on whatever journey life takes him on. He’s 41 and makes terrible choices still hurting others. Just ask God to forgive you for divorcing without infidelity reasons. Remember ...God in his word said that as far it is from the east is to the west i will remember your sins no more. So...apparently...u have to choose to not remember the sin anymore of committing divorce if u ask God to forgive u for it because if u dont forgive yourself for it and remember what you did than u didn't really believe God forgave and forgot about it. My estimate is they had been making time for at least a year BEFORE I left her (at the time for reasons I couldn't place, but just knew I had to leave, so at that time I fully blamed myself because I left). Her new "man?" (a real man wouldn't ruin another man's marriage), was already a divorcee when they got together. Nobody I know of is aware of the circumstances that led to the end of his previous marriage. Betrayal is betrayal. A relationship born of such, deserves the same.

I've been married for 12 years. Move on...its not worth it. This is our first marriage and its really hard even though our marriage doesn't come from a shaky foundation. Now if you start a marriage from a shaky foundation ...I can't imagine how harder the marriage will take for it to survive. I am asking because I think it is important that we validate the underlying assumptions. If you make a claim that they have a 1% success rate then I think you should know how you arrived at that number. If you do not know how you arrived at that number then you might actually have it wrong. Maybe affairs have a 99% success rate who is to know without a citation? Once I have a citation I can then make decisions in my life based on it or if it doesn't feel right to me I can dig into the original citation and see if the methods of arriving at the number are valid or applicable. Also just as surely as it is unethical to commit an affair it is also unethical to make up statistics, or to perpetuate an idea based on information that is not correct. If it matters (and truthfully it doesn't because it is simply an ethical issue that you should know where you get information from ESPECIALLY if you are someone whom is speaking as a person of authority on a subject) I was cheated on by my ex-wife, and there are a variety of circumstances in the situation that made me seriously question ALL of what people might call common knowledge about relationships. And I would eventually discover that very many of the things we think are common knowledge and the correct way to live life are actually completely false or ineffective. Now someone told me that 95% of relationships that start as infidelity fail so off I go to the internet to find the source and low and behold I can find people whom are stating this as fact but I cannot find anyone who knows where they get the fact from. And it is also completely reasonable to know that humans can easily take false information and spread it and make it become common knowledge that everyone simply accepts as true. So I would like to know where this statistic came from before I pass it along to anyone else, or use it to make decisions in my life. TL:DR it simply doesn't matter what the reasons anyone has for asking for a source for information provide the source if you have it or if you don't have a source then say I don't have a source and feel free to tell us why or where you think you remember getting that information from so we can keep digging.
