As a medical student,I have studied that animal sources are the major source of 7 essential amino acids & vitamin B12 only can be found in animal sources.... Excess protein intake is quite rare comparing with the protein deficiency....so study more accurately
vitamin B12 can be made by your gut if the good gut bacteria/ microbes are sufficient, and grain + legumes / seeds + legumes can become complete protein with “9” essential amino acids which our body can’t make enough (Soy & peas are complete protein exceptions). Stop coming up with half knowledge & just because you’re medical student doesn’t mean you know it all. And of course another aspect could be cultural compulsion looking at your username. Animal-based proteins often provide all essential amino acids in a more complete form compared to plant-based proteins. They are also generally richer in nutrients like B12, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids, which are vital for various bodily functions. However, it's important to balance your diet with a variety of foods, as plant-based proteins can offer fiber, antioxidants, and other beneficial compounds that animal proteins lack.

major complete protein combinations: Seeds + legumes grains + legumes Additionally they (whole like ragi or brown rice or green gram) have more nutrition than any meat. Plus they’ve fibre which is a big plus for gut & heart health.
The thing is soya has all essential amino acids. And other plant sources are deficient in one kind of amino acid. That particular amino acid can be found easily in other plant foods!

What they tell you: Vegan whole sources can fulfill your protein req What they don't (and you can figure out if you read bw the lines): Vegan sources give a high amount of carbohydrates as well. Athletes can somehow digest all of that due to their high activity. While I am a vegetarian and promote vegetarianism myself, you do need to get your protein in. .8 grams of protein per kg of body weight is the minimum required for survival, not for achieving optimal health or preventing diseases. For better health, higher protein intake may be necessary to support muscle maintenance, immune function, and overall well-being. And research she is talking about is "The one study that legitimately showed toxicity was performed in sedentary rats taking a lot of whey protein (252 g/kg/day, so about 41 g/kg/day for a human[1]) for a month. To put this in perspective, 3 g/kg/day is on the high-side of human intake. This wasn’t disclosed in the present paper. The majority of the other studies that noted alleged toxic effects were either misinterpretations by the authors or lacked overall rigor such as the inclusion of appropriate experimental controls. This Study Summary was published on September 4, 2020."

Good info👍🏾 our star cricketer Virat Kohli and many celebrities are vegetarians. Many body builders and gymmers consume lots of protein and it creates lots of problems for them
1. Not consuming non veg helped him, it doesn't help everyone but it's fine. 2. Virat Kohli is an athlete so he follows a strict high protein vegan diet where he skips too much flavoured food and opts for bland food. 3. It's not possible for us to get that much protein in vegan sources for a common man cuz we can't afford imported vegetables all the time. Then preparing a proper meal from them is another work and doing this multiple times in a day makes it more difficult. So for athletes it's possible as it is one of the primary things for them but not for a normal Indian who doesn't even know about quinoa, Greek yogurt etc. And obviously over consumption of anything is wrong even if it are fruits and veggies. Dosage is important but most of Indians are actually protein deficient so concept of over dosage doesn't connect with majority of indians. Also the issue bodybuilders face is many times due to consumption of Whey protein and creatine. They either take it in too much quantity or are using cheap quality whey so that is also imp if u are taking supplements
if protein is not that important then why did niraj Chopra change his diet 😮 veg to chicken eggs.. he was a pure vegetarian but bcoz of his sport career he has changed his diet
When you just show hyper protein disease and sabotage the whole protein requirement concept. Protein is building blocks of our body and much more essential than you think it is So please get enough protein you viewer, cause these youtubers can easily bend anything and only show you the part, which benefits their need.
Why dont you mention all the protein options too. Also when you consume 40-60g plant protein sources, body absorbs only 50-70%. So to fulfil the requirement, one need to eat double the quantity which will increase quantity of carbs and overall calories.
While I like recommendations from your channel, some videos like this are misleading people. The protein requirements you showed are minimum but not necessarily optimal amount needed. In order to get enough protein from lentils, beans, etc you need go consume a lot and they come with too many calories which will work against you if you’re trying to lose weight. Also, if you consider a vegetarian and calculate protein intake per day, on most days it will be well below 30g - which means they are not meeting minimum protein requirements on most days of their life. Be honest and calculate your protein intake per day without changing your current diet and you’ll realize that what I mentioned is truth.

Also they are not biologically complete source of protein consuming too much legumes and daal can cause many digestion issues.. It's okay if people is being vegetarian but saying that complete vegetarian diet is the best nooo... ❤😇
On the anti nutrients part you are wrong , no one is consuming raw lagumes. Cooking and soaking lagumes reduces the anti nutrients count significantly to a point that it doesn’t even matter. Also no one is consuming just daal or just rice , they are eaten together for some reason , the bioavailability is lower in plant protein but if you are taking good amount of protein then the source of protein doesn’t matter. You need to study more.
Most of the cereals ,Pulses , though contain protein but relatively carbs are double the amount of protein. For sedentary lifestyle you don't needs as much carbs which leads to sugar and fat formation
Essential amino acids left the chat. Plant sources of protein like dal,Nuts are not a complete source of protein.
