Impressed with the Can-Am DS450 X MX during our 2010 ATV Motocross Shootout for its good stock suspension and race ready features, we decided to add the necessary upgrades necessary to make the Can-Am DS450 X MX capable of winning in the hands of the beginner to intermediate level racer.
Race Tech, Gold Valve Conversion Kits gave the shocks the springs and valving needed to lower the machine while remaining plush over small and big hits. A Precision Racing Steering stabilizer further improved stability. MotoWorks might be gone but there are still aftermarket exhaust companies out there that can help you get maximum power out of the DS450.

RIP sport ATV's. The only ones left is Yamaha. By the time I was old enough to ride the big ones, it was too late. My pops still has the LT-Z 400 (Suzuki) and Raptor 660R (Yamaha). I can't balance dirtbikes (5'8 164 lbs) and I nearly screwed myself on a CRF250L. I wish sport ATV's would come back :(

@@abbybonilla4511 tell your Pops to hang onto those awesome quads ..he has 2 really good ones! I have 2 newer Yamaha sport quads YFZ450R & Raptor 700R-SE. *Yamaha still builds/sells 2 incredible sport quads thanks goodness* . Support Yamaha! They can't build enuff of the 2 they sell. Many think another manufacturer will step up again. Don't like UTVs myself!

@@Davido50 Unfortunately I live in a super urban part of Cali and parents are divorcing, I don't have a truck to take my Suzuki out anymore... and CA are cunts with powersports anyway.

Hopefully one day we can get back to the level of production performance that we had in the late 2000's and early 2010's. I wish you were still able to just buy a quad and take off the baffle and air box lid and it be ready to race.

I raced 450cc quad MX on an 09" DS450 x MX, Loved the Can Am!!! Motoworks pipe and cut the Pink wire with good intake and they rip!

Mine had all the factory Can Am Extras on it from the dealer from the Racers Promotion Can Am was doing back then. It was a heck of a quad, felt super light and flickable and with a few mods that engine ripped. I had a brand new Honda TRX450ER at the same time and set the Honda up for woods riding.

I would like to see husquvarna come out with a 250r quad, efi 2 stroke with chromolly or aluminum frame. I would be one of the first to buy one.

The precision stabilizer is the best upgrade we’ve done on the zilla500 it’s just amazing how it handles with the elka stage 3 suspension... great product

Here in socal i just bought a 09 ds450xc for 3k put kn with rp race full shorty exhaust n cut pink wire my bikes insane🤯 im madly in love with it

ATVonDemand needs to start doing newer videos where they take the used machines and do builds on them, from budget to wild, just so people can see what they can do now. I hope sport quads come back soon, but for now the manufacturers aren’t really producing any, except for Yamaha, but now most of what is offered are clapped out 450s, or 450s that people modded in the worst possible way and some of us riders need to not only fix them, but bring them up to race standards for both MC and XC.

@@ATVonDemand Sport Quads. I do a lot of trail riding and ride Sportsman’s, but wanted to start hitting jumps and stuff. Tried jumping a sportsman once and it was a bad idea 🤣 Closest thing I’ve ridden to a sports quad was a KFX700

@@tunerworld Yean, if you want to jump, 4x4 machines arent the best and won't hold up long to the abuse. Look into a Raptor 700. You won't go wrong with one of those.
