what would you prefer a 2009 yfz450r for 6299 or a 2011 ds 450 x mx for 5799? I like the yamaha and its trusted name. I have heard bad things about the ds. I would use it for trail riding but i want ot start racing. i have been riding for years though.
@fox13z400 im sure they handle differently and im not sure about the ltr im not getting a quad till next year and im a tall rider so i need a large quad and honda is too small can am is also too small but jst so i need to find a large quad at the moment thats the can am
I've been hearing a lot about frame issues recently with the ds450, mostly in the front end and in the frame hips. Just curious if you guys have had that problem
@fox13z400 well its the best quad ive ever ridden so i know no different other than my pos honda trx 450r so at the moment its the best quad ive ever riddden
As far as reliability, I trust BRP more than any japanese manufacturer. They've been building sleds and planes for years, no problems whatsoever. You put those kind of resources into a quad, and you've got a good, reliable machine. I test drove every 450 before I chose one, the DS was my first choice by far, suspension wise, power wise, and reliability wise. The YFZ is uncomfortable, and its handling is no where near as good, the power's awesome though
I don't understand why people call quads, "bikes." There's nothing "bi" about them, except headlights on some models. Where does the "two" designation come from? Is there something I'm missing? Even the people that call them "quadbikes" confuse me; that's like calling it a four-two. Meh, if anyone has some insight, I'd appreciate it.
For us it just has to do with a history of riding dirt bikes when we were young. We are 100 percent aware of the difference obviously, "bikes" is just a slang term we use that's ingrained in our speech.
Thank you very much for the reply. I guess I can understand whatever powersports toy you have, being referred to in the same category as your first one. The meaning of bike just becomes, "the go-fast." I appreciate the explanation.
by far the shittiest motor ive ever used i fucking hate it. however the suspension is AMAZING the motor must be run in the high rmp which reduces reliability mine only lasted 3 months before i blew it up pos
