I actually used to say that I can also play like professional just by watching them in the devices , but after seeing this , pretty exhausted . Professional trains thousands of hours to get their very best for maximum one an half hour, these line I actually listened from one of the professional player.

By far the best video about Badminton training that I have seen. We are a bunch of amateurs and have always heard so many stories of how professionals train. And here we actually got to not only see it but also saw what it did to someone like CK. What a fabulous idea Greg and Jenny!! CK, you were also great. Thanks once again for this.

It's crazy that CK's 5K run time is better than Greg's, however their speed and endurance was probably the biggest difference on a badminton court! the spin on the net on the final 15 suttle net challenge cks shots didnt have much spin on the feather then you guys
@robertoneil.
@robertoneil. 2 года назад
Well now I’m curious. What are both of your 5K times? Also the heart rates - to be comparable it would be more useful to know the percentage of maximum heart rate you’re working at. Directly comparing the numbers only makes sense if you both had the same resting hr and maximum hr - aka heart rate reserve. For example Lionel Sanders is a professional triathlete who famously can ride a bike at very high power outputs with a very low heart rate (below 120 bpm), but some of that is just genetics - he also can’t achieve a very high heart rate. Though seeing how quickly Greg can recover does give some insight into the fitness differences. I’ve found having a background in cycling and triathlon helps with badminton as many club players don’t have as much endurance in longer matches.
@justinpascual1990

Greg's explosiveness and choice of how get to the shuttle made him faster. It was noticeable in the mid and rear court exercises. Greg just needed to do a side jump and "float" to the shuttle. Or he could shuffle his feet smooth and fast enough to get to a good position then jump to smash. Also Greg was more relaxed and extended in his form. He could easily stretch himself out then go back to ready stance. At the front court Greg knew what to do. Be aggressive and remedy the net shots if he really needed to otherwise strike everything down. For CK there was either fatigued or hesitant that was why he couldn't execute as fast or ended up hitting the net. Overall, CK still did a great job! Survival in itself is already an achievement! Hope to see more collabs from you guys!

Super awesome collab by two of my favorite UK badminton RU-vidrs! Great training session all around. I've done some as an amateur myself in the past and our coach pushed us to 120% in those multifeed drills, so definitely can relate to how CK was feeling. Also, the recovery of a pro athlete is so much faster because they've been doing it for much longer, so they can sustain that high level quality of shot making for longer. I also noticed my stamina went up as a result of training and playing a lot consistently, and was always raring to start the next rally while other players who didn't get the same intense training were still gasping for air. Overall, great video and can't wait to check out CK's video on this!

I think something helps when watching pros and thinking you can do it yourself-something I tried to do is pretend that I am playing and moving AT THE EXACT SAME SPEED as the players on the screen-if you do that, it quickly becomes MASSIVELY impressive how fast, accurate, and consistent pro players are. You instantly recognize that you can’t do the same things at that speed.

What an amazing video. All 3 of you were great to watch to get pushed pretty hard. CK has good form and seems to be in great shape and to see him get tested against pro's like Greg and Jen was fascinating and a lot of fun!
