Rex exhibits more of a ARC trooper personality in terms of free thinking. Cody represents the pinnacle of what "average" clone troopers are meant to be. And in the last season of the clone wars, the playbook the Republic were using was drawn up by Rex and Echo. Rex's outside the box thinking is more valuable than someone who can regurgitate the manual at you. Plus Rex looks cooler lol

We all love Rex, but him and Cody fighting would be like the inverse of Anakin and Obi Wan. Also, daffodil theory when?

I think it's also important to remember that if it were to devolve into a close quarter fight there's no way Rex beats in Cody in hand to hand combat.

Love this comparison, I feel like Rex would know how to play dirty to win if they had to fight to win. I think a bit of Anakin will have rubbed off on him to sway the odds. But even then, it would be close!

Cody would sit on Rex. We saw this in their fight against Slick. Rex isn’t as developed hand to hand combat as Cody is, we clearly see that throughout the whole series

Before watching the video I think it depends when you're talking about; probably would be the closest during The Clone Wars, & only get more in Cody's favor as you progress through the timeline

I would guess Rex wins just based on Clone Wars and Rebels giving Rex a lot more development/feats to pull from. Cody was much more of a side character (despite being featured in the films and Clone Wars) than Rex (just featured in the Filoni projects, but as much more of a major character). Though I do wonder how jetpack play and standard weapons/equipment might factor into it

Cody. The only thing I like about Rex is that he is 501st. Besides that, he is a goody two shoes version of Jango. In fact, I think he was a better character in the early seasons of Clone Wars than the latter. He went downhill in the later seasons and everything after.

I think Rex would win in a fight against Cody because of Rex's out of the box thinking in a battle while Cody sticks to his standard clone programming in dealing with a situation so Rex would have the advantage of being able to win over Cody in a fight. Plus, in Episode 1 of the final season, while Cody did hear Rex out about Echo possibly being alive, he didn't actually consider the fact that it may be true even though Rex pointed out how the strategies the Separatists were using against to counter them in the battle of Anaxes were strategies him and Echo made and just told Rex that he was just having misplaced hope. This shows to me at least, that Cody wouldn't be able to win in a fight where both him and Rex have the opportunity to gain an advantage over one another by thinking outside the box because Cody wouldn't even consider an option such as that being possible even with proof that it actually can be accomplished being presented right in front of him. Great video and hope you're doing well with Theory Sabers & Vader Episode 2; would love to win a saber if given the chance in the next giveaway. Rex, When you follow Anakin through out a war you would have way better and more diverse tickets. Also he would have been in way more battles because they used Anakin as a battering ram. He also took on a Jedi and won.

Rex has far more character and we've seen far more of him, his tactics could throw Cody off with how unorthodox they are adopted from anakin. but I feel Cody is the better fighter and overall would win this fight, rex could hesitate but Cody wouldn't though he'd regret it later.

Wish u gave actual battle scenarios that happened in books, comics, shows, and movies that would explain their hand to hand combat prowess and a search and destroy scenario that would lead to a battle of life and death. I mean like using actual evidence from lore

I would really love to see you go back and remaster some of your older lore videos or even update them with new info, the channel and its content has seemed very budget and minimal as of recently.

I keep bringing this up Clone Wars S1 E16 The Hidden Enemy. Slick almost single handedly kicked Cody's and Rex's butts. However between the two Cody held his own better in hand to hand combat while Rex got his leg broken when Slick put him in a leg lock. I disagree with the video H2H combat would have to go to Cody. It was also Cody who figured out Slick would be hiding in the vents, so we know Cody can also think on his feet. I agree that in a firefight Rex is better just because serving with Anakin he always finds himself in the middle of them and having to fight his way out. Rex is also better at improvising and getting creative again because he's developed this skill serving alongside Anakin, and that makes him very dangerous. BUT as the saying goes if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If Rex goes in just hoping to wing it against Cody he will lose. He needs to come up with a plan, unfortunately for him Cody is the better tactician. In summary Rex's strengths in firefights and improvisation make him a dangerous opponent, however Cody is the master tactician he will take into account all of Rex's strengths and come up with plans and back up plans to defeat Rex. A smart soldier is a deadly soldier. Plus when all the chips are down Cody is the better H2H combatant. Just my opinion guys but I think the logic behind it is sound.

i think it woulda been cool to discuss them in two separate arenas kinda like the hunger games. One of them is actually just a 1v1 gladiator battle (with cover of course) with all of their normal gear. The other would be if they had a squad of like 12v12 or 50v50 and they had to go through like a battlefront style domination fight for a location. no respawns obvi lol

How is Cody more experienced if his experience is purely based on tactical strategies?? If Rex has been trained the same way as Cody but also has unorthodox tactics, it’s not going to Cody!! If I’m trained to shoot on one foot vs someone who’s trained on both, they’re going to have the experience because they’re used to more than one way of shooting

From what ive seen which is all the movies and animation shows in the skywalker era, they pretty much show imo rex has being the ultimate experienced fighter while cody has all the IQ and battlefield technique advantage, you give cody time to plan against rex, he wins. If its an instant fight combat scenario, rex all day

Cody in my opinion. He's the highest rank for a reason. Also the man straight up likes to fist fight droids. He's able overpower commando droids in hand to hand combat.

1v1, Rex If they were leading a squad or unit against one another, Cody.

In a 1v1, I'll take Rex. In a battle where they're leading a group, I've got Cody.

Cody was much higher on a mental level. Higher ranked (grand Marshall ranking). Regarded as the best tactician in the republic, and helped them win many important battles with his unparalleled tactical abilities, even in dire situations with all the odds against him. I think he was better in combat, shown in a number of ways but one is where they were both fighting the traitor slick. Rex was struggling, Cody was not. Rex had a “street smart” sort of advantage. One example of that is when he quickly realized the droids were impersonating clones when he and Cody were sent to inspect a moon outpost. He saw the droid attack flare, immediately turned around and shot the droid. Cody didn’t pick up on it until rex told him to relax and then pulled off the clone helmet, revealing it was a droid. But, Cody was superior overall.

Loving the theory sabers, but this is a genuine question. Why are people saying that theory didn’t make the sabers and he’s just reselling TXQ sabers..? Also I’m team rex

I doubt theory will see this but apparently Neil deGrasse Tyson proved that 8 and 9 couldn't have happened in reality. So in episode 7, Starkiller base sucks up the energy of a star and uses that energy to destroy the new republic. Like 8 planets. According to Tyson it should have had the power to destroy 1000 planets. MEANING that when Starkiller base explodes. RIP Illum. It releases enough energy into the universe to destroy 1000 planets. Ultimately proving that 8 and 9 MUST have been made up because the entire universe would have been obliterated.
