Greyson is a fantastic drummer! He will do great things and thrive with Sepultura! But no, nobody can fill Eloy's shoes. Eloy is on another level.

Eloy is definitely on another level but he’s doing great. This is their last tour anyways but he’s gonna have this on his resume and see he was willing to bleed and tear up his hands in order to do the job and bigger better bands are definitely gonna want him

If Eloy is "on another level" then why does he only play for bands that are on the way out? Jay gave Slipknot a breath of life while he was with the band. They went from stagnation to winning metal album of the year. On the other hand, Sepultura had their worst selling albums with Eloy. Jay leaves slipknot and immediately is filling in for fucking Brooks Wackerman (who is far, far more talented than Eloy) alongside other metal and hardcore legends in Infectious Grooves and he has already become Suicidal Tendencies' new drummer. I'm sorry but being technically skilled at the drums does not make you a good musician. Look at Chris Turner - insanely technical (way more skilled than Eloy) but he will never be in a band that wins any well-known awards.

Eloy might have an advantage in chops, no wonder considering how short our boy Greyson is in the heavy game, but when it comes to the pocket I prefer him already. He grooves, no doubt. Two fantastic drummers and i don’t understand why people argue forever about who’s better instead of enjoying the music. That’s ‚dancing to architecture‘, isn’t it?

My personal opinion: I have seen 4 Sepultura gigs on the current tour and with Greyson on the drums. I think he is a way more suitable drummer for Sepultura than Eloy ever was. The tone on the drums, live, is much closer to Sepultura's original sound than it was with Eloy, and that alone is a huge improvement. That said, nothing agains Eloy! I think he is the perfect fit for Slipknot and I could not be happier with this "double trade"!

You just made my day since i´m trying to imagine a three way trade with Pink Floyd which would have given Nick Mason the Slipknot gig and partner up Eloy with David and Guy. 😅 You know what? Greyson is without a doubt the only one of them who could easily play in all three bands.

I mean, he is an amazing drummer and will do the last tour with no ''problem'' for sure. But I would say being on sepultura without a really good physique preparation can be really dangerous in a long term, It's not just sit there and play. So this sepultura gig should be quite an experince for him, he may not be the best, but have talent enough to play in any band he wants after that.

The amount of talent Greyson has compared to Eloy is not even comparable. Greyson is doing an amazing job and their drums have never sounded so clean live.

Spoiler: no! GN is an amazing drummer, I really like him as a drummer BUT EC style, power and creativty for this genre is on antoher level. Sepultura could have chosen someone more stylistically suitable.

I'd imagine so. I'm in the minority though. Had this slipknot thing not happened.. I'd have never known who either guy was. Also, wasn't big into Sepultura. More of a SoulFly guy..

I was never into sepultura either but Eloy was a monster. Only reason I ever listened to them was because of him tbh. Greyson is someone I’ve seen on drumeo and then started following on insta so it’s cool to watch his journey moving on up in the drumming world especially being so young
