Does the best gym leader in Kanto have what it takes to become the Pokémon Champion? I try to take Sabrina's team all the way to the top, battling the Elite 4 and Champion of the Kanto region. This is Episode 1 of Champion Aspirations, a series where I take gym leaders' teams and try to defeat the Elite 4 and champions of their respective regions.

I've always had a fondness for Koga and Janine, and would love to see a video on either one of them, esp since Koga was good enough to be promoted to the Elite Four

@@slamgaming32 Koga will be really interesting since his strategies rely on ninja tactics such as double team, minimize, toxic and self destruct. Using his team to sweep would be out of character.

Would love to see you do a Sabrina challenge to be champion in HG/SS. Her team of Espeon, Mr. Mime and Alakazam should be interesting. Especially against Will who resists because he uses psychic types and Karen with her dark types. Lance is also a challenge with those 3 Dragonites, well his whole team is bulky actually.

Loved this a lot. Sabrina is one of my favorite Gym Leaders period, so seeing her take on the 4 to prove herself the best in Kanto was great

yooo this was pretty dope, i was on edge for those crits from lance. Love to see another style video for each region in this style. Shows you can run just about anything and if you set-up right you just might sweep the game

Lorewise Wallace was champion before steven and steven stepped down and gave it back to wallace :p

This video is so freaking awesome!! I've been playing Leaf Green for months and I think it was around last week that I became champion. I'm currently on the Sivii Isles catching gen 2 pokemon, looking for the safire, etc. But I'm taking a break from LG to play Fire Red so that I can transfer the FR exclusive pokemon to my LG game and complete the national pokedex. These games are ton of fun and I really enjoy what you do with these videos. Excellent work.

I’d love to see more of these challenges! But I think it would also be interesting, if you could do it, to have, for this example, Sabrina’s trainer AI try it to show the difference between just having a strong team and having a strong team and knowing how to use it

This was super fun to watch! It’s really interesting to think about if this was done in the post game, not only would it be harder to get to Blue (but not impossible I imagine), but it would actually be impossible to beat him… unless you somehow get lucky with supersonic spam and leech life’s low power… because Tyranitar’s Dark Typing just halts anything you can do. I’m curious to take a look at her other teams to see if any problems like this arise in other games.

That’s a really interesting idea! This run benefitted immensely from Kanto not having any dark types lol. But I am interested in expanding the parameters of challenges like these to include other teams she has in other games!

I first got into Pokémon because of how the 15 original types matched with the 15 total dimensions recognized in Paganism… then they added Dark type 🥰🥰🥰 so philosophical. same with fairy the dragon slayers. light type should be the next typing based on philosophy. Ho-oh being a light Pokémon with Sacred Fire and leads the 3 Wild Dogs of Johto mimicked the Wild Hunt lead by: Suicune (Selene) Raikou (Artemis) Entei (Hekate) 3 lunar forces of nature.

I'm curious what the thought process was on which team of Blue's to fight, especially since you felt the Venasaur team was best in your ranking video (although having a poison type might have made things too easy from the get go)

Yeah, to your point, Venusaur is just tough to justify when Alakazam runs through it easily. I think the Blastoise archetype has a good argument to be made, with more specially bulky pokemon in Blastoise and Arcanine. But I thought that the absence of gyarados would be a negative, as it clearly was one of the only potential roadblocks to this run. But there’s an argument to be made for sure. Sabrina with her level 40 Pokemon could and probably would crush Brunos Team, but then again, he really is the weakest link of the elite 4. Maybe even Erika with her level 30 Pokemon could give him a good show.

I love Giovanni and would love to see a cover on him. Imagine him choosing to face the league and the champion after losing to Red and regaining some love for his Pokemon. Feel free to also try it with Surge's rematch team since you ranked him #8.

You forgot that tou just took sebrinas exakt Pokémons and beat the elite four but sebrina must use the exakt same mores and over come the same obsticals which means than her team can be Champions
