Lol. Me too. It is so satisfying watching her clean up the mess that was made with her crops. I even felt the lightness through my phone screen after it was clean up. My heart felt so happy, it started beating faster. Lol Mess drives me crazy, cleanliness put me at peace and comfort. Ask my children how i react whenever i walked into a messy house. I start yelling and throwing things, clean it up right this minute. This isn't a pig pen or trash bin. It better be done by the time i get out of the shower otherwise your behind is grass. Lol. Then you see and hear them planing and running around getting it done before i am done. Once i told them when i was single without children i only use to do one major clean on fridays after work and laundry is done on saturday. But clean up after everything during the week, so my place was always clean. Now with you tansmania children, my place can't stay clean for 2 days. I will start yelling, i want my life back when there were no mess. Lol. But i love my 2 girls, i only say that out of frustration because i can't dwell or live in mess. My brain can't comprehend it no matter how i try. I wasn't raised like that, so my children call me a clean freak. Lol

Becky, please move your onions away from the potatoes. Onions produce ethylene gas which will spoil the potatoes more quickly and the moisture content of the potatoes may cause the onions to rot.

Interesting bit of storage education. Love how simple things that we don’t know about can be worth so very much. Never knew that about onions and potatoes being stored right next with each other can shorten their long term life. I knew the gas’s from onions and I try to store them up off the ground but not that they and the potatoes won’t last as long. OMGosh. I’m so excited to see this post storing these items. Thank you for your most valuable post.

I can attest to this. I reorganized my pantry and placed them in stacking boxes on top of each other and wondered why I had to keep buying potatoes and why it smelled funky. I separated them and lo and behold, my potatoes last longer. And my onions don't sprout. I unfortunately can't have them separated right now (tiny apartment + samsclub membership is an adventure) and I'm already noticing bad signs. I hope to do a big prep day so I can use them up and be able to separate them again

Becky, when baking bread, if you are wanting it to rise even more during the baking process, place a metal cake pan in the oven below your baking sheet and place 2 cupsful of ice cubes in it. As the ice melts it causes a steaming effect in your oven which forces the dough to rise even more than it already has. Happy baking!!!

I noticed you said your chickens “won’t” eat onions. I want to be sure you know onions are toxic to chickens. So, avoid giving them to your chickens. Another item toxic to chickens are tomato plants (not the fruit, that is fine). Avocados and citrus are also toxic for your sweet hens. Love your videos!!!!❤

@willowsverge3046
@willowsverge3046 8 месяцев назад
@@user-bq2oz5cs7t Yes the peelings are definately toxic to fowl. But if you boil them until cooked the whole way theyre ok. The cooking causes the tannins in the peel to change from toxic to fine for fowl to eat. I just dip out the cooked potatoes and dump the peelings into the same water until done. Saves the water and time bringing it back up to boiling. Man i love chickens! 😊

My oldest daughter learned to tie knots around 4. I got up one morning with my hall looking like a spider web. My daughter got up middle of the night to practice knot tieing. Knots to door knobs and anything else she could get my yarn around. Took me forever to get that mess untied. PS that daughter is now 42. You just reminded me about that with your knot tieing

Hi Becky just wqondering why you freeze your oats? Do those containers you use keep your flour and sugar free of bugs and no lumps in your sugar? I need new containers they aren't very air tight.
@karenculpepper973
@karenculpepper973 8 месяцев назад
@@cherylburt1315 you do it kill any possible pest. Same with flour. I was taught to do this by my grandmother when I was little and I taught it as well to my kids. So when you buy your flour for example pop it in the freezer at least for 4 days before transferring it to your airtight container. Sometimes mine will stay in the freezer until I need it. Make sure you let it warms to room temp before you store it in your container so you don’t trap any moisture. I keep my oats in my freezer all the time because oats can go rancid quickly. But we don’t eat as many oats as Becky & her husband do. 😊 The buckets she uses are air tight containers. You want them with the screw on lid, and of course food safe buckets. Amazon cells them now with that top of lid. Hope this answered your question.

Suggestion for three next time you make these- Don't cut the roll all the way through. (Being from the Northeast I cringed when I saw you do that 😱) Form the cheesesteak 'innards' in the pan, place the cheese on top ( you can use the broiler if you want) Then place your still together roll on to of your meat, use a spatula the scoop the meat and flip it over. Voila! The heat from the meat should melt your cheese just fine. 💞

Yes! Also, never toast the roll for a cheesesteak. When I went to college in South Jersey, it was considered an abomination to add green peppers! American cheese or Cheez Whizz was standard, fried onions were optional and you added ketchup if you wanted tang. These days mushrooms, peppers, provolone, whatever. Look up Geno’s vs. Pat’s. 😊 PS I found you around Thanksgiving and have been catching up while knocked out by Covid. Loved the one when you found this house!

Keep both halves of the string together, wrap them around 2 fingers (where you want the knot), and pull the cut ends through the loop you’ve made with your fingers and tight. Shouldn’t come apart then😊. Or tie a simple square knot…right string over left and under, left over right and under 😊

She noticed on your pantry you have your Wine bottles standing up. She recommended if they have corks to lay them on their side. It keeps the cork moist, which is key for long term storage. Dried out corks can cause seepage and premature aging. Can’t wait to try the cheesesteak and hoagie roll recipe ❤😊

Every time I watch a video where you are cleaning something I immediately go and clean something in my house. You inspire (guilt) me every time and I appreciate it. 😁

I made freeze-dried eggs, and use the powder in all sorts of applications. One thing is using it to make an egg wash! That way, I can only use part of an egg at a time, and not have extra egg left over.

Hello, I am enjoying your channel. I tossed some onions in my raised bed of sweet potatoes. Got diagnosed with a brain tumor and my garden was left to its own for months. I got better, returned to clean up my beds and found huge onions under all the sweet potato leaves. I don't know much about soil but I know they loved the sweet potato beds. They were small in all the other beds without the sweet the sweet potatoes.
