My GTP is the sweetest shyguy. I adore him so so much but when the lights are out, he’s pretty much the devil. I’ve had to cover his cage up with a towel in the evenings because he’s tried to attack me through the glass and I’d just hate for him to hurt himself. Beautiful animal! I only ever open the enclosure up at night to feed him otherwise, never at all at night. She’s so pretty by the way!

AWESOME! so glad you really push the buy US only, and captive born and bred. buying animals stolen from the wild is just pitiful! fish included! so many animals are killed or maimed in the process! good job!

I think everyone making these types of video should make an explicit point of it. As consumers, the only way to stem wild caught or farm bred trade is to refuse to buy it. Such a paradox how people buy animals in celebration of their beauty, but so often support an industry wherein there natural habitat and population is jeapordised.

My biak was skittish and a little nippy as a neonate but after a few months became pretty docile. He doesn’t get very defensive I’m going to start actually holding him I’ve had him for a year now. But I have been frequently pulling him out on his perch and does great. Haven’t even been stricken at for months he’s a good puppy 💕

@circlejerks873
@circlejerks873 2 года назад
The only way you can hold ANY SNAKE, is time, you need to Handle the reptile everyday, I mean 7days a week constant, it's easy to tell the sex, Males will have a tail (the portion of the snake starting after the cloacal opening) that is thicker and longer than their female counterparts. I had 5 different snakes that never bite me. Had Asian water monitor which was friendly. You have to treat these reptiles with respect. If you get bite, grab the head push forward & pull off, and wash your hands with peroxide, cause sometime bacteria from the month. You need to spend 1000 of hours handling the snake, they love the warmth around your neck, so watch out.

I am very very interested in, eventually, getting a green tree python. I won't be able to for some time due to space constraints, but I'd at least like to do some research. What are the best resources for prepping to make and maintain a green tree python enclosure, who would I contact to obtain one, and any other information you can think of? So I want to get a snake 🐍 a colorful snake. One that is yellow or green. I don't like to admit it but in the basement I do have a mice problem in the winter an such, I have paid exterminators an it just seems they find Thier way in. So I thought I should get a snake. Any suggestions on which one? I am doing my own research now. I was thinking of a viper, but they are two small, an I don't really like boas cuz they all have clunky heads.

@therealtruth2497
@therealtruth2497 6 лет назад
Handle them when they’re young because they will be way more use to being handled, it’s just common law. BUT, Handle with being super careful with the tail and body period. Don’t pull them off their perch, start with using a long stick or rod and work them off the perch from there neck area and get them to unravel on their own. If you need any advice don’t hesitate to ask
@joe_phelan
@joe_phelan 6 лет назад
You really don't want to handle them when they are young. Common law for most snakes, but a recipe for disaster with green tree pythons
@r3ptomaniac190
@r3ptomaniac190 6 лет назад
Do you think that when they are younger it would be safe to take them out on the perch but not force them off of it? I would take the perch out and hold it and if they felt like it they could climb on me but it'd be up to the snake. I just want to be able to socialize my snake from a young age but the last thing I would want to do is hurt it.
@joe_phelan
@joe_phelan 6 лет назад
No just because it will be hard to get them back on. They only get calmer and more docile with age. I would just wait

@therealtruth2497

Handle with caution. But I have tame them from holding them at a young age, but never force or pull them off their perch. It takes super patients to unravel them off their perch. Maybe I’ll make a video how to do that soon
