I love these videos, one it's such a good learning experience for all of us to sit through and watch a real person who's new to dog fighting learn. Most tutorials out there are with two people that know exactly what they are doing and sometimes don't give realistic expectations. Also it makes me feel a little better about my Helio progress as I have a hard time managing all the things that you have to in a helicopter and find jets easier, hearing casmo talk about how it's hard to manage a jet when I've seen what he does in the Apache reminds me its about practice not just some in built skill

I notice you have Jester off for this. When in BFM I recommend you turn him on. His speed callouts are amazing because you don't have an HMD in this bird and can't keep eyes on your speed when padlocked to your bandit.

That's where VR is really nice to naturely look around that cockpit frame or giving you a more "inside" the cockpit perspective for obvious reasons

at low speeds, roll with the rudder and you'll get less of that roll reversal and nose pitch up. Rudders are HUGE with the Tomcat.

when you have aoa on the jet, ie dogfighting use the rudders to roll the aircraft NOT the stick, shel fight you if youre rough, treat her like a mega powerful warbird

been playing DCS and BMS lately; dogfighting is basically a knife fight in a phone booth. Edit: GS meant dissimilar; not asymmetric Edit 2: lol now Casmo is starting to understand why fighter pilots are called 'the knights of the sky'

To anyone looking to learn BFM I highly reccomend picking up IL2. IL2 is th perfect envronment for learning to dogfight because the spotting is better, the planes move slower but the fight develops faster (both awesome for learning) and every fight is a knife fight which forces you to learn how to focus on, and avoid, your enemies nose... After flying il2 for a month or so in VR, my general performance in DCS was way better

I’d love to play IL2 more but their server set up and hosting is a shit show and really turning me off to getting back into it.
