I live in Philadelphia pa and my daffodils are already starting to come up. We just got a snow storm the other day and there was about 5 inches of snow on them but after the snow melted away The daffodils were fine not even signs of frost burn so I guess they will be okay. Yes mine have already flowered in London, UK Zone 9a. They should be ok with light frosts. Later sowing can extend the season like you say but the following year will all come up at the same time. Interesting though that these came up before the snow drops and crocuses!
